Profits vs. Play: The Fight for the Soul of Gaming ft TheBatman2837

What’s up Guardians, and welcome to the newly branded Guardian Down Roundtable! We’ve spent nearly seven years as the Guardian Down Cast show focusing on Destiny, but now we’re taking a more broad overview of the entire gaming hobby. Every week, my co-host Mr. Kingsleymac and I sit down with two rotating guest hosts to tackle topics of discussion—covering everything from the gaming industry and tech to social media…or whatever our guest co-hosts have on their mind. Our mission is simple: To create a dialogue with topics/news that impact our gaming hobby…all while keeping the focus on our community.
We go live every Thursday at 9 PM Eastern on my ToddtheGatr YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as our Discord Live Stage. Once a month, we invite a new member from our Discord community to pull up a chair and share their own story with us. We are a live video show with an audio version available every Monday morning. We love the live shows but we love interacting with the live chat even more, so jump in, give us your input!

Speaker AWe're a weekly gaming podcast where our mission is simple to bring to light and discuss topics that have an impact on our gaming hobby and at the same time highlighting our diverse gamer community.
Speaker AAlso remaining dedicated to our origins.
Speaker AGuardian Down Join me, Todd the Gator and my co host Kingsley Mack as we invite a rotating list of guest co hosts every week to join us at the Guardian Down Roundtable.
Speaker AAnd now, let's get to it.
Speaker AWhat's up Guardians?
Speaker AWelcome to episode 348 of the Newly branded Guardian Down Roundtable.
Speaker AWe've spent nearly seven years as the Guardian down cast show focusing on Destiny, but we're now taking a more broad overview of the entire gaming hobby.
Speaker AEvery week my co hosts, Mr. Kingsley Mac and I will sit down with two rotating guest hosts to tackle topics of discussion and we're covering everything from the gaming industry and tech to social media or whatever.
Speaker AThe guest co host wants to talk about whatever they have on their mind for the week.
Speaker AOur mission is simple though.
Speaker AIt's to create a dialogue with topics and news that impact our gaming hobby, all while keeping the focus on our community.
Speaker AWe go live every Thursday night, 9pm Eastern on my Todd the Gator, YouTube and Twitch channels.
Speaker AThat is T O D D T H E G A T R as well as our Discord Live stage.
Speaker AOnce a month we invite a new member from our Discord community to pull up a chair and share their own story with us.
Speaker AWe are a live video show and an audio version is available every Monday morning, midnight or actually 1202.
Speaker AI tried to.
Speaker AAnyway, we love the live shows but we love interacting with our chat even more.
Speaker ASo jump in, give us your input tonight, those of you who are live in our chat.
Speaker AAnd let's get things started by checking in first with my co host from the great state of Utah, Mr. Kingsley Mack.
Speaker AHow you doing Mike?
Speaker AHow you doing to this week man?
Speaker BHey, I'm doing great.
Speaker BGlad to be here.
Speaker BI feel like my brain is a little scatterbrained tonight, so apologize in advance to anyone but no, I'm glad to be here.
Speaker BSo I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker AHow was.
Speaker AHow's the heat?
Speaker AI mean you guys have been warmer than Florida this week.
Speaker BYeah, if we're going to get into that.
Speaker BIt is crazy.
Speaker BThe whole west right now, it is nuts, man.
Speaker BIs breaking records like in over 100 cities and over 5 states or something like that.
Speaker BAnd up in Utah where we should be having snow on the ground still.
Speaker BWell, maybe not the ground in the city, but close around everywhere and Probably a Snowstorm.
Speaker BWe had 82 for the high today.
Speaker B82.
Speaker AAnd we know what our high was today.
Speaker A68.
Speaker AYeah, it was a perfect.
Speaker BHotter than Florida for a bit.
Speaker ALandon will tell you it was a beautiful day today, man.
Speaker AIt was like the day.
Speaker COh, I know.
Speaker BAnd see, I like to compare.
Speaker BAnd for the people writing in the chat, I know it's even hotter in other parts of the West.
Speaker BI know, trust me.
Speaker BBut like I do, my funny little competition against Utah should not be hotter than Florida.
Speaker AAnd it's been that way for like a month.
Speaker AKingsley.
Speaker ACrazy, man.
Speaker CShe's like up and down, up and down.
Speaker CIt's like a rope down.
Speaker AIt is.
Speaker AFlorida's been nuts, man.
Speaker AIt has been nuts.
Speaker AThat's for sure.
Speaker AWell, I did want to mention before we get started tonight, due to some family reasons, Elmer Fudd Games and Fluffy Fingers, Maryland, unfortunately cannot make it tonight, but they have been rescheduled for future shows.
Speaker ASo we'll see both of them on a.
Speaker AOn a new show very soon.
Speaker AYou know what?
Speaker AThis is what happens when you're a gamer, dad.
Speaker AFamily comes first and then gaming and podcasting.
Speaker ASo, like I said, we have the.
Speaker AWe'll have them back on the show very soon.
Speaker ABut let's introduce our guest tonight.
Speaker AI have known this gamer for over seven years now.
Speaker AI dare to say almost a decade.
Speaker CWe played so take kings.
Speaker CSo 11 years.
Speaker AJeez, man.
Speaker AI was just going to say, back in the days of Destiny and Destiny 2, we would run King's Fall every week at Reset and other Destiny Raids.
Speaker AI mean, we learned all of the various encounters in the Leviathan Raid.
Speaker ARemember Raid Layers?
Speaker AI hate to admit it, but when I went back, you know, in our past episodes, I couldn't find them.
Speaker AThen it dawned on me that he has never been on our show.
Speaker ASee, this is what happens when you have such a diverse community.
Speaker AGreat people fall through the cracks and we never hear their gaming stories.
Speaker ABut I'm so glad he said yes to be on the show this week.
Speaker AAnd you are going to find out how awesome this guy is from the great state of Florida.
Speaker AMy fellow Floridian, it's my friend, TheBatman2837.
Speaker AHow you doing tonight, Landon?
Speaker CI'm doing yay.
Speaker CThe start of my weekend.
Speaker CI just got off work, like three hours ago.
Speaker ANice, man.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd he.
Speaker AHe works at the brand new Epic Park.
Speaker AThe Universal Epics.
Speaker AEpic was Epic Studios or Epic.
Speaker AWhat do they call it?
Speaker CEpic Universe.
Speaker AUniverse, yes.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker AThe park where the guy died on the roller coaster.
Speaker AYes, that.
Speaker AThat park.
Speaker CYes, I was actually there that day.
Speaker AWere you really?
Speaker BOh, geez.
Speaker AGod, man.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BSo glad I wasn't at Disneyland the day when Sondra, if anyone knows, we.
Speaker BI worked in amusement park also.
Speaker ABut yeah, yeah, I remember.
Speaker AYou derailed a couple cars, didn't you?
Speaker AThat's the one thing I remember.
Speaker AThat's the one thing I remember.
Speaker AThat conversation right after somebody clipped that.
Speaker AYeah, no, that.
Speaker ANo, I'm sorry.
Speaker AI'm sorry.
Speaker AYou.
Speaker AThat's what happens when you share stories with us.
Speaker AEverybody remembers.
Speaker AWell, here's.
Speaker AHere's what we got on tonight's show.
Speaker AIt's kind of a scrambled show.
Speaker AWe.
Speaker AWe got so much to talk about tonight.
Speaker AFirst, we're going to start things off proper by interviewing my friend Land, my friend Landon here.
Speaker AWe're also going to put him through the paces of our Speedrun segment, which is a random list of 25 questions submitted through our community over the years.
Speaker ASo I'll be curious what his answers are on that tonight.
Speaker AAnd of course, I handpicked those next.
Speaker AI ran across this story from a YouTuber about two months ago and I really enjoyed his video, his vid.
Speaker AHis channel is called Internet Education and he covers various topics in the gaming industry and has some curious takes.
Speaker AI'm going to share one of those takes tonight and I'm curious what side of the fence everyone clings to on this argument.
Speaker ASo we'll look forward to that.
Speaker ANext, we're going to take a break from the discussion.
Speaker ACheck in with our weekly Destiny roundup where we'll highlight any news and information concerning Bungie, Destiny 2 and Marathon these days.
Speaker AThen it's on to topic number two.
Speaker AKingsley Mac's going to jump in and first discuss any recent news in the gaming world or anything he has on his mind for the week.
Speaker ABut then he has a list of five current gen games that you can finish in under 10 hours.
Speaker AYou know, since some of us are on hold on the Destiny 2 game at the moment, for the final topic of the show, I am going to discuss an interview that PC Gamer had with a little studio that reinvented themselves and why many games don't have that chance these days.
Speaker AAnd that might be a problem.
Speaker AAfter which point we'll shift into our catch up segment, wherever you know, with everybody, and share our highlights of our week.
Speaker AAnd at the end of the show, if time allows, we'll answer questions from our community as well.
Speaker ASo if you do have a question for us, make sure you enter them in our podcast Questions channel in our Discord community and we might read it aloud live on the show.
Speaker AAnd remember, if you want to send us a voicemail or an email, go to guardiandowncast.com to find out more about that.
Speaker ASo if everyone's ready, let's roll.
Speaker AHey Guardians.
Speaker AEven though we're now the new Guardian Down Roundtable, all the ways you can contact us are the same.
Speaker AJust go to guardiandowncast.com or you can email us, write us a review, send us a voicemail that we might air on the show, by the way, and even listen to past episodes where you can also search for a particular gu of the show.
Speaker AYou know, I use this every week to find past episodes that our guest round tablers are from so you can go back and hear them and hear their story.
Speaker AGuarding downcast.com.
Speaker ALandon, I've known you forever, man, but I want everyone else to kind of discover what you're all about tonight.
Speaker AI, I think you're a special dude, man.
Speaker AYou've always been.
Speaker AYou always make everybody laugh when we got in our, our, our games, our raid crews back in the day.
Speaker AAnd yes, you're right, we, we go all the way back to the original Destiny game.
Speaker ASo start by this.
Speaker AI think we kind of alluded to it already in the break, but what do you do for a living, sir?
Speaker CI work at Universal's Epic Universe, the brand new park.
Speaker CI work in the entertainment department.
Speaker AOh, now what does that entail exactly?
Speaker CSo I work as a, I help Pete, the, the characters get ready.
Speaker CI work their show times and do all that kind of stuff.
Speaker AThat's pretty cool, man.
Speaker AI've always wondered all the roles in a theme park.
Speaker AI never worked at a theme park.
Speaker AYou think I would have, you know, lived here all my life, but I never, never got into that stuff.
Speaker AI was too busy doing hard, a
Speaker Clot more than I originally thought because like, I was like, oh, it's a theme park.
Speaker CHow big can it be?
Speaker CAnd then I first started working at Disney and was like, this place is massive.
Speaker BWell, yeah, Universal like to say too, because I have that experience.
Speaker BI worked at Disneyland, but the Disney Corporation, I know a lot of what's going on and, and just I didn't know exactly.
Speaker BI think I kind of in theory knew about that position.
Speaker BBut boy, I'm like, it would have been fun for me because I wouldn't ever want to be like an entertainment person, but the logistics of putting it together seems way fun and interesting because it sounds like something different's always going on.
Speaker BI like variety.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AMy daughter Was she just got out of school, and she wanted.
Speaker AFor the longest time, she wanted to be a set decorator.
Speaker AShe wanted to design the themes for each ride.
Speaker AThere's a big art department that puts all that stuff together, prop department and stuff.
Speaker AShe had an in with the manager of the place at Universal.
Speaker AAnd then Covid hit, and I was like, well, all that just went away because that just kind of killed everything in Florida at the time.
Speaker ATiming was terrible, I guess, but she's doing other things now.
Speaker ABut I've always.
Speaker AJust always been curious, you know, so what.
Speaker AWhat is a day in the life of the Batman in Universal other than the other Batman?
Speaker ABut, I mean, what's a day in the life, man?
Speaker AWhat's your.
Speaker AI mean, what do you usually do day to day?
Speaker CDepending on what time I get there.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CI either set up everything, make sure everyone's set ready to go, and just make sure everything.
Speaker CEverybody runs smoothly.
Speaker CThe main thing is, obviously, you have more than one actor.
Speaker CSo, like, we have a character named Igor.
Speaker CYou don't want the same two Igors coming out at the same time.
Speaker ASo you coordinate all that, make sure there's no overlap.
Speaker AThat's pretty cool.
Speaker AYou ever get.
Speaker AWell, I guess I will get you in trouble.
Speaker AI don't want to say.
Speaker AI'd say there's just some backstories about some really nasty guys in those costumes.
Speaker ABut not nasty, but, like, mean to kids, making them cry and stuff, like they've had a long day or something.
Speaker CIgor is character.
Speaker CI'll just leave it at that.
Speaker AYeah, I think.
Speaker AI think you have to be a character to get in those costumes.
Speaker AYou have to kind of act like the characters.
Speaker CI would think if you come to Epic Universe, meet Igor, and you'll.
Speaker CYou'll know what I mean by him being a character, man.
Speaker AThey got a ton of characters, too, man.
Speaker AI mean.
Speaker AYeah, like the guy who plays as.
Speaker AWhat is it.
Speaker AIs it Rodimus Prime?
Speaker ANot Rodimus.
Speaker AYou know, in the Transformers ride, there's a guy.
Speaker AI think he.
Speaker AI think they have to be on Optimus Prime.
Speaker AYou can tell.
Speaker AI. I really follow that franchise.
Speaker BSo there's.
Speaker COh, man, that's like this.
Speaker CI know Optimus, Bumblebee and Megatron.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CEach one of them have to be on stilts.
Speaker AIt's crazy, man.
Speaker AI see how tall these guys are.
Speaker AI'm like, how they.
Speaker AIt's nuts, man.
Speaker AAnd you see the.
Speaker AThe parades and stuff they do.
Speaker AThey get all these guys on stilts and.
Speaker COh, man, at Halloween horror nights, they go all out.
Speaker COh, there's people on still.
Speaker CThere are people in like, harnesses hanging from the roof.
Speaker CIt's wild.
Speaker AAnd those damn strobe rooms just kick my ass, man.
Speaker AI get out of there, I'm so discombobulated.
Speaker ABut I went with my daughter one year and my God, that was fun.
Speaker AAnd Mardi Gras.
Speaker AMardi Gras events are fun too.
Speaker CYes, Mardi Gras is fun.
Speaker CI go to HHN for the food because their food booths are always top tier.
Speaker ANice, man.
Speaker AI like it.
Speaker AYeah, well, okay, let me ask you this.
Speaker AI know recently you got married.
Speaker APlan on having some kids soon or what?
Speaker CWe are planning on going back to Georgia first.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWhy would you want to go to Georgia?
Speaker AWhat the hell's in Georgia?
Speaker AYou're in Florida, man.
Speaker CAll of families up in Georgia.
Speaker AI'm trying to, I'm trying to gaslight somebody.
Speaker AIt's not working.
Speaker AAll right?
Speaker CNo, I, I, my man, I have been on i4 long enough to know that I'm tired of it.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker BI hear you, man.
Speaker AI hear you.
Speaker AI4 corridor.
Speaker AThey call it a corridor for a reason.
Speaker AWell, what was your earliest moment getting into video games, man?
Speaker AI mean, when did it all start?
Speaker AHow far back does it go back?
Speaker CWell, it all started with my gamer tag when I went into GameStop and picked up Batman.
Speaker CArkham Asylum.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CAnd absolutely fell in love with it.
Speaker AThat's a good game.
Speaker CAnd then played Arkham City right after that, and then played Arkham Knight to finish out the whole trilogy.
Speaker ANice, nice.
Speaker BSo, and not trying to date you, but if you're, when were those, like, those years that, those games.
Speaker BBecause I don't even know those games as much.
Speaker CArkham Asylum I'm pretty sure was PS3 because origins three.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BBack a bit.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker ASo you're a late bloomer into gaming then, did you game?
Speaker COh, I've been.
Speaker CI played on my dad's Atari.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker CAnd his 64.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ASo you, you, you've got, you've go all the way back then.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWhat age were you when you first started, you remember?
Speaker CSeven, eight.
Speaker AOkay, all right, cool, cool.
Speaker CBecause I played Kingdom hearts on the PlayStation 2.
Speaker ANice, nice.
Speaker AHow did you find this game called Destiny?
Speaker CEntirely by accident.
Speaker CMe and some friends of mine were in our senior high school and we looked up games to play in co op and they were like this awesome new game coming out called Destiny.
Speaker CIt's a looter shooter and I came from the Borderlands series and I was like, you have me a loot, let's try it.
Speaker CAnd absolutely fell in love with it.
Speaker AI know you love Borderlands too.
Speaker ALooter shooters, man.
Speaker AI get it.
Speaker AI get it now.
Speaker BAnd another game, which we'll talk about later.
Speaker AYes, we will.
Speaker AYes, we will.
Speaker AI'm trying to stay on the rails here.
Speaker AKingsley's trying to derail me.
Speaker AWhat's going on here?
Speaker AYeah, he's supposed to be the other way around.
Speaker ANo, no, dude, I love you.
Speaker AI love that you're interjecting.
Speaker AI love it.
Speaker ATell me a time in Destiny 1 or Destiny 2 that just brought a big smile to your face.
Speaker CIt was probably when we formed Fake TV Friends for the first time, because that was the first time I actually had a set raid group to run raids.
Speaker CAnd that's my favorite part of Destiny is the raids, the teamwork, all that kind of stuff.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AGood times, man.
Speaker ASo many good memories in that.
Speaker ANow, you want to explain what fake TV Friends, how we.
Speaker AHow that clan came about?
Speaker CSo we, me and a bunch of other friends, including Gator, all were like, let's just make our own clan.
Speaker CIt was like six or six.
Speaker CNine of us, actually.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CAnd we were all like, let's just make a clan together.
Speaker CAnd we were doing a raid with an LFG person, and someone in the background was like, you just want to sit there and play with your fake TV friends?
Speaker CAnd, like, all of us collectively were like, that's our name.
Speaker AThat's an awesome.
Speaker CThat's it.
Speaker AThat is an awesome.
Speaker BThat is amazing.
Speaker BDude.
Speaker AThat would make a good podcast, to be honest.
Speaker AFake TV Friends.
Speaker AThat would be an awesome, awesome podcast.
Speaker AThink about it.
Speaker AYeah, I remember those days.
Speaker AI was late because 300 bowler, which is my buddy I bowl with on my league, he's the one who brought me into that clan because he knew you guys first.
Speaker AAnd I don't know how he met you guys, but.
Speaker CBut I were a part of a Super Troopers clan.
Speaker AThat's right.
Speaker CCalled team Team leader of Cola and me, Muffin and Bowler.
Speaker CAll three would, like, do prison of elders and stuff like that.
Speaker CSo we were like.
Speaker CWe all three played together, so we just like LFG Raids.
Speaker CAnd then he was like, I got a guy and then messaged you and then you joined it.
Speaker AThat's right.
Speaker AThat's right.
Speaker AWell, I think I was in between.
Speaker BI have to remember, too, how I joined you guys originally, because I. I don't think it was through Gator, because I wasn't rating with.
Speaker ANo, no.
Speaker AWe didn't even know each other Kings.
Speaker BHow did I find you guys then?
Speaker CBatman I distinctly remember a very, very long Garden of salvation where we were doing a div run that you were a part of.
Speaker CI think that was the first time we raided together.
Speaker BBut you can't do it randomly.
Speaker BOr do you think we would just through some discord talk from up One
Speaker Cdiscord to another discord?
Speaker CBecause I was part of GDC before Guardian Hub.
Speaker BYeah, okay, so that would make sense then.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker ANow, you came from the Derp clan, though, right?
Speaker AKingsley, one of the Derp Clan.
Speaker BDestiny reset.
Speaker AThat's what I thought.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BNot the Derp Clan.
Speaker BOh, I know.
Speaker BDrp.
Speaker AThey used to call it Derp.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker BThey tried to say drp, though.
Speaker AWhen did Benny get in the picture?
Speaker AI'm trying to remember when Benny joined.
Speaker CWhen did he join in?
Speaker AI like Benny because I gotta.
Speaker AI gotta tell you.
Speaker ABenny, I have stories about Benny.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker AKingsley.
Speaker AKingsley.
Speaker AYou know why, you know where.
Speaker AYou know, I'm sorry.
Speaker AI'm just reminiscing.
Speaker ABut Benny.
Speaker ABenny would always.
Speaker ABenny loves to explain step by step what he's doing in the game.
Speaker AAll right, I'm going over here now.
Speaker AOkay?
Speaker AI'm going over here.
Speaker AAnd Kingsley rags my ass every time I'd say that.
Speaker AI'm trying to let everybody know what's going on, but Benny was always so cool about that.
Speaker AHe'd always say, okay, I'm.
Speaker AI'm getting this set up.
Speaker AAnd he.
Speaker AHe just loved the gator.
Speaker CIf you're going to talk about Benny, you got to say Kingsley's name correctly.
Speaker BHuh?
Speaker BThat's what I was going to say.
Speaker BDo you know how my name actually is?
Speaker ASaid what?
Speaker AKingsley.
Speaker AMack.
Speaker CKingley.
Speaker BKingly.
Speaker CKingly.
Speaker AOh, he'd always.
Speaker AHe'd always say it wrong.
Speaker BBenny has adopted it from on high.
Speaker AThat's right.
Speaker BMy name is Kingly.
Speaker AKingly.
Speaker AThat's right.
Speaker AI remember that now.
Speaker CAll right.
Speaker BI mean, hey, I. I somewhat agree.
Speaker BWe gotta.
Speaker BWe gotta go by those rules.
Speaker AWhat do you.
Speaker ANow, have you talked to Benny in a while or is.
Speaker CI have not, man.
Speaker AI haven't seen him in forever.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker AHe was.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker AI think he.
Speaker AI actually think he's still in our.
Speaker AOur Discord, but I hardly see him anymore.
Speaker ADo you remember what his gamer tag was?
Speaker ADamn.
Speaker CI can look right now.
Speaker AActually, I tried to.
Speaker AI tried to think of it, too.
Speaker AI couldn't remember it.
Speaker AIt was based on Deathstroke.
Speaker ADeathstroke.
Speaker AHow can you forget Deathstroke?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AYeah, good deal.
Speaker AWhat character do you like in the game most in Destiny?
Speaker CAre we talking, like, class?
Speaker COr just all characters.
Speaker ANo, no, not.
Speaker ANot class.
Speaker AI'm talking about, like, the NPCs in the game.
Speaker CAs much as I hate his game mode, I love Drifter.
Speaker AYeah, everybody likes him because he doesn't.
Speaker AHe doesn't play by the rules.
Speaker ANow, are you a solo player or do you prefer to play in a fire team these days?
Speaker CIt kind of depends on what I'm doing, but I love, like, grouping up, doing dungeons and Raids.
Speaker CBut, like, if I just want to, like, chill out, listen to music or a podcast, I'll just run some stuff in the portal, so.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker AWell, I know, I know.
Speaker AI took a break from.
Speaker AOf tape.
Speaker AFake TV friends I had.
Speaker AI.
Speaker AThat's when Destiny 2 first came out.
Speaker BReality TV?
Speaker ANo, no, no.
Speaker AFor when Destiny 2 first.
Speaker ANo, I'm talking Forsaken.
Speaker AI remember when Forsaken came out.
Speaker AYou remember how much the game changed in Forsaken?
Speaker AI remember my ADHD was off the.
Speaker AOff the charts, man.
Speaker AI would look at all this shit flashing at me, triumphs and stuff, and I just fro.
Speaker AI literally have never done this ever in a game.
Speaker AI literally froze and I just didn't know what to do next.
Speaker CAnd then so much to do.
Speaker AAnd you guys were cramming, trying to get ready for the new raid.
Speaker AThe last.
Speaker CWas it the Last Wish?
Speaker AThe Last Wish Raid.
Speaker AAnd I was so stressed, man.
Speaker AI was like, I don't want to be forced to play Raid if I'm not ready yet.
Speaker AAnd it got a little.
Speaker AProbably got a little whatever.
Speaker AI probably got a little bitchy and I took a break.
Speaker AAnd then somehow you came back to Guardian down cast.
Speaker ADo you remember how you found our community?
Speaker AWas it.
Speaker CI found it accidentally because I was playing.
Speaker CI stopped playing Destiny for like a year after the dlc.
Speaker CAfter Forsaken.
Speaker CShadow Keep.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker CShadow Keep.
Speaker CShadowkeeping.
Speaker CBecause I just didn't.
Speaker CI was kind of like one of the.
Speaker CIn that mood of like, I just don't want to play that right now.
Speaker CAnd then three se.
Speaker CTwo seasons into that.
Speaker CThat year, I found you playing Gambit, and I was like, let me see if he needs an extra person, and just hopped in.
Speaker AYeah, you've always.
Speaker AYou've always been real cool, jumping into games and stuff.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThat's awesome.
Speaker AAre you a Titan Hunter or Warlock?
Speaker AMain.
Speaker CI started Destiny 1 as a Hunter, but ended Destiny 2 as a Warlock.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker AThat's right.
Speaker AI keep thinking you were a Titan one time because we had a.
Speaker AWe had a.
Speaker AWe did a.
Speaker AWe did a what is it a what?
Speaker AWas that thing where you look for a.
Speaker AYou could be a seeker.
Speaker AYou could look, someone could join your.
Speaker AIt was a beta.
Speaker AWhat's that?
Speaker BYeah, but prime.
Speaker ANo, no, no.
Speaker AIt was, it was a pro.
Speaker AIt was where you could find like.
Speaker BOh, to help people.
Speaker BYeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker AIt's a beta program that in game
Speaker BRAID group up, old version.
Speaker BGuided games.
Speaker AYeah, guided games.
Speaker AI remember we had the guided games and this, these people, I mean, if they were a seeker and they were looking for a group, they had to wait like 45 minutes.
Speaker AThat's how long you had to wait to get into a group.
Speaker AAnd I remember he came in and we were doing the raid layer where you go through the platforms, where the water platforms are that sink in the water at the Leviathan.
Speaker AAnd I remember this guy, brand new fricking shoulder, charged me off the edge into the water.
Speaker AAnd I've never been so fucking mad, man.
Speaker AI was so mad.
Speaker AI said, this guy's out.
Speaker AGet him out, get him out.
Speaker AAnd then just like, just take a chill pill.
Speaker AChill.
Speaker AChill out.
Speaker AHe's just having fun.
Speaker BI get you.
Speaker BI feel you.
Speaker BBut I feel bad too, because that probably gave that raid a bad experience for you.
Speaker BAnd that's one of my favorite raids that ever comes back.
Speaker ANo, I mean I. I love.
Speaker AI love all Leviathan layers.
Speaker AThey were a lot of fun.
Speaker CEater worlds.
Speaker CThat's what it was.
Speaker BEater of worlds.
Speaker BYeah, it was very.
Speaker AIt was a lot of fun, man.
Speaker ABut.
Speaker ASorry, I'm kind of reminiscent halfway through the interview here, but there's so many memories, man.
Speaker AWhat activities do you prefer to play when you're.
Speaker AWhen you're in the game?
Speaker CObviously the razor dungeons, because like they're the.
Speaker CThe best piece of content.
Speaker CBut I don't mind a little Crucible now and again.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, you're not bad at Crucible.
Speaker AYou're pretty good.
Speaker AI would say decent.
Speaker AThat's a callback.
Speaker BNow according to what's scale?
Speaker BThe Gator scale.
Speaker AI'd always say someone is decent if they kick my ass in Crucible.
Speaker BThere you go.
Speaker AWhat one weapon in your vault will you refuse to delete and why you can use Dem if you need to.
Speaker CI am actually on the game right now, looking through my vault scene.
Speaker CProbably my year one ghost primus with 50k kills on it.
Speaker AThat's the auto rifle from Leviathan, right?
Speaker CFrom Leviathan, Yeah.
Speaker AThat was a great rifle too, man.
Speaker AThose rifles were so ornamental.
Speaker AThey were so adorned with gold and stuff.
Speaker AIt's the inaugural address for me, obviously.
Speaker ABut yeah, Dabod Hero.
Speaker AWe wish Leviathan will come back because there are so many good things to play in that.
Speaker AThat's for sure.
Speaker AIf Bungie assigned you a small but versatile dev team just to you, you're in charge, what would you work on for the game?
Speaker CBetter strikes.
Speaker AYeah, strikes are.
Speaker AI mean, I think people quit playing strikes a long time ago.
Speaker AUnless they have to play them, they're
Speaker Cover in like two minutes.
Speaker CThey're like, if you want something that's difficult and fun at the same time.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CBring back the original difficult nightfalls like Shield Brothers on Solar Burn.
Speaker AGod, I miss that raid.
Speaker AI mean, that strike that.
Speaker AThat was.
Speaker AThat's one of my favorite strikes, man.
Speaker ABecause that last.
Speaker BYou hide in that one, though, Todd.
Speaker AI.
Speaker ASome.
Speaker AI would do the cheese sometimes.
Speaker AI would do the cheese where I could hide underneath the edges and the edges where he couldn't, you know, put the mortar on you.
Speaker ABut I remember playing that solo, man.
Speaker AI was freaking out, running all over the place, and I finally got it done.
Speaker ABut you know me, man, I like to push and try to do stuff solo if I can, but that was a man.
Speaker AThat brings back good memories.
Speaker AThat's such a fun strike.
Speaker AYeah, that.
Speaker AThat's.
Speaker AThat's what we're missing in destiny right now.
Speaker AThings like that.
Speaker BJust that strike.
Speaker CJust that one.
Speaker AI mean, just the whole thing we
Speaker Bsaved, but just the whole world.
Speaker AThe whole world.
Speaker AThat was great there.
Speaker ADo you have any other hobbies outside of gaming
Speaker Cother than working at a theme park?
Speaker CNot really.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAnd you're married too, so it's.
Speaker AIt's Mrs. Batman time too.
Speaker AI get that.
Speaker AHow long you been married now, man?
Speaker CLittle over a year now.
Speaker AGood deal, man.
Speaker AThat's awesome.
Speaker AI'm happy for you, man.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker AI have a feeling I know this answer, but.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker ADude, what is up with that gamertag Batman 2837?
Speaker CSo I.
Speaker CWhen I played on PlayStation 3, I was originally just a random gamertag that I thought of.
Speaker CI don't even remember it now.
Speaker CAnd then when I upgraded to PlayStation 4, I couldn't get into the email of that account, so I was like, yeah, I'll just make a new one.
Speaker CAnd I was like, I've played all of the Batman games.
Speaker CIt's only fair that I named it that.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, I got you 2837.
Speaker AJust a random number they put behind
Speaker Cis actually the mailbox number of the house I grew up in.
Speaker AOh, nice.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ASo it does have meaning.
Speaker AIt is symbolic.
Speaker AI like it.
Speaker AI love gamer tags that are symbolic.
Speaker AIt kind of tells you about somebody, but not really unless you know the person.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ADo you have a motto or mantra that you live by these days?
Speaker CEventually it'll be all right.
Speaker AThat's a good way to live.
Speaker ADefinitely.
Speaker AWell, I appreciate you telling a little bit about you, Batman, but of course we have to put you through the Speedrun.
Speaker CLet's do it.
Speaker ASo this segment is called the Speedrun.
Speaker AI've hand packed.
Speaker AI've hand packed.
Speaker AWhy do I keep saying that?
Speaker AI'm going to reword that I've hand picked.
Speaker AI've handpicked 25 questions from a pool of over 1100 questions submitted by our community all these years.
Speaker AThese are quick, simple answers to get to know our guests at an even deeper level.
Speaker ANo time limits, no contest.
Speaker AJust quick questions and quick answers.
Speaker ASo if you're ready, Landon, let's begin.
Speaker ANumber one, what would be your ideal career or job?
Speaker CThe one I'm in now, actually.
Speaker CI love entertainment.
Speaker AAwesome.
Speaker ADude.
Speaker AWhat is the best cheese on a cheeseburger?
Speaker CPepper Jack.
Speaker AOkay, I could go with that.
Speaker AWhat is your favorite Destiny?
Speaker AExotic from either game?
Speaker CHawkman.
Speaker AReally?
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AYou and Kingsley with the hand cannons.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker AIf you could choose, who would voice your ghost?
Speaker CI want to bring back Dinklebot.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker AVoid solar arc stasis or strand solar pulse hand cannon.
Speaker AScout or auto rifle hand can.
Speaker AIf you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Speaker CNot in Florida anymore.
Speaker CProbably on the.
Speaker COn the.
Speaker COn the coast somewhere.
Speaker CBut just not in Florida.
Speaker AOkay, gotcha.
Speaker AWhat was your first music album?
Speaker AThere's a thinker.
Speaker CLincoln Parks a minutes to midnight.
Speaker AVery cool.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker AI think you.
Speaker AI think you'd think a little longer on that one.
Speaker AWhat's the worst job you've ever had?
Speaker CGameStop.
Speaker AShout out to GameStop, everybody.
Speaker AMan, describe yourself in one word.
Speaker CHyperactive.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWhat's the best sandwich?
Speaker CThe best sandwich is a meatball sub.
Speaker AOh, I can go with that.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ASweet or salty?
Speaker AAnd what's your favorite snack based on that answer?
Speaker CSweet.
Speaker CAnd it is the Reese's peanut butter cup.
Speaker CThins.
Speaker ANow I'm hungry.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AIf you had more time, what would you do with it?
Speaker CMake.
Speaker CTry to make my own video game.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWhat is your favorite Destiny planet and why
Speaker Cit's not there anymore.
Speaker CBut it was IO Everybody likes IO it was cool looking.
Speaker CEspecially had the Whisper mission.
Speaker APlus you had the Vex like giant, giant citadel right there in the middle of the place too.
Speaker AThat didn't fit in at all.
Speaker CBut had one of my favorite Destiny 2 Strikes.
Speaker CThe Pyramidion yeah.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AIt's a good strike.
Speaker AVery ornate.
Speaker ADestiny makes beautiful games.
Speaker AMan.
Speaker AWhat is your wife's eye color?
Speaker AThis is a marriage test.
Speaker ABlue.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker ADamn.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AI thought you'd take longer on that, too.
Speaker AI'm thinking.
Speaker AI'm thinking.
Speaker ALast night I said, what can I stump them with?
Speaker AIf you could take any one famous person to dinner, who would it be?
Speaker CChristopher Nolan.
Speaker AI like that.
Speaker AOkay, do you pull into or back into a parking spot?
Speaker CPull into people that.
Speaker CBack into it don't make any sense, especially when I see it at work.
Speaker ADude, I have a big pickup truck.
Speaker AIt's too hard to back out.
Speaker AAll right, I might have overshared if.
Speaker AHave you ever had a nickname?
Speaker CIt's Batman.
Speaker CBecause in high school, I wore something Batman related every single day.
Speaker CSo even the teacher started calling me it.
Speaker AAll right, so you've been familiar with that name for a while.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker AOkay, can you drive a stick shift?
Speaker CYes.
Speaker AVery good.
Speaker AYou pass.
Speaker AWho is your favorite?
Speaker AI already asked you this.
Speaker AI'll ask you a bonus one.
Speaker ADo you eat your leftovers or do they spoil in the fridge?
Speaker CIt depends on what they are.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AWhat weapon slot do you use the most for an exotic weapon slot?
Speaker CProbably primary, because it's either at the moment the practicing blade or one of the hand cannons.
Speaker AC3PO or R2.
Speaker AD2.
Speaker CR2.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AIf you had infinite money, would you still choose to work?
Speaker CYes.
Speaker AName one thing that you would change about yourself.
Speaker CI already did, and it was my teeth.
Speaker AOh, okay, Let me see.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker AI need.
Speaker AI need to work on mine.
Speaker AYou would never know.
Speaker ABut I'm missing two teeth right now.
Speaker CI'm missing all of mine.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker AHow'd that happen?
Speaker CSo when I was a kid, I had this weird thing where, like, my teeth already had cavities in them.
Speaker CSo, like, my teeth were riding outside of my head, and there's nothing I could have done, man.
Speaker CSo my dentist was like, you either get them taken out now or later on.
Speaker CAnd the same thing happened to my dad.
Speaker CHe got his at taken out when he was 26.
Speaker ASo you have.
Speaker AYou have implants.
Speaker AThe implants.
Speaker AHow hard was that?
Speaker AI'm.
Speaker AI got to do.
Speaker CI was the worst.
Speaker CI don't recommend it.
Speaker ADamn it.
Speaker AThat's not what I needed to hear.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker AI'll ask you a question that I forgot to ask you on the first part of the interview.
Speaker AWhat is something about you that our community may not know about you?
Speaker CYeah, that I have fatigue?
Speaker ANo, come on.
Speaker CFix something else that I really want to be a voice actor.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CAnd I am a DM for a lot of D and D campaigns.
Speaker AI could see that.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AYou got a good speaking voice.
Speaker AI like that.
Speaker AAll right, Batman, I'll let you off the hook.
Speaker AThank you for completing the Speedrun.
Speaker AThanks for playing along with us tonight.
Speaker AOkay, just a little announcement.
Speaker APSA for all of our community out there.
Speaker AIf you got a question out there that you want to ask for a future Speedrun, you have a Speedrun question that you think would be good for our feature guests out there?
Speaker ALet's hear it.
Speaker AJust go to our 2027 speedrun channel and submit your question there.
Speaker AAnd at the beginning of 2027, we're gonna have two more drawings for a 25Amazon gift card.
Speaker AWe had two winners this past January.
Speaker AWhat do you have to lose?
Speaker ALet's hear it.
Speaker ARemember, there's one entry per member will go into the drawings, but you can give us as many as you like and we'll put them in our database of future Speedrun questions.
Speaker AThanks and good luck with that.
Speaker AAll right, I think it's time for our first topic and that is me when we return.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAs I.
Speaker AAs I mentioned in the intro, I found this YouTuber about two months ago and he had a pretty hot take in the world of gaming.
Speaker AAnd I want to share his views and see what you guys think about this.
Speaker AAnd that hot take is that very soon or even maybe now, more and more players have stopped buying video games.
Speaker AYou may say what didn't slay the spire just hit half a million concurrent players last week.
Speaker AWhat are you talking about?
Speaker ALet me explain his takes here and you guys can chime in.
Speaker AHere's the breakdown of what he says is impacting our hobby right now.
Speaker AThe first one is called the Architect of the Nightmare.
Speaker AThe video traces our current mess back to John Riccatilio.
Speaker AHe's a former EA and Unity CEO and his philosophy was built on designing games as money extraction machines first and entertainment second.
Speaker ARemember that infamous 2012 speech where he suggested charging a dollar just to reload your gun in Battlefield?
Speaker AThat mindset became the gospel for a lot of AAA executives out there.
Speaker AThe next thing he talks about is how the generation is being priced out.
Speaker AIt's not just a protest.
Speaker AGen Z is literally being priced out of this hobby.
Speaker AWith seventy to eighty dollar price tags, microtransactions, and the rising cost of living, younger gamers are being careful with their disposable income.
Speaker AIn fact, 36% of Gen Z gamers now spend nothing on new games.
Speaker AThe third thing he talked about was that ownership is dying.
Speaker AWe've talked, I mean, we've talked about this on the show before.
Speaker AThe crew situation where Ubisoft shut down servers and made a paid game unplayable.
Speaker AIt's a huge red flag.
Speaker AExecutives are even saying out loud that the players need to get comfortable not owning games.
Speaker ASo you're just buying a license these days.
Speaker ASo you don't really, you can't.
Speaker AIf they close the online portion of the game down, you're pretty much screwed.
Speaker AYou can't go back and play it like the, you know, the hard games that we would put like a CD Rom that we'd put into our PlayStations or whatever in the, the Xbox or whatever.
Speaker ABut more and more you're buying a license and I think that trend's going to continue, by the way.
Speaker AAAA bloat versus the indie heart.
Speaker AWhile AAA budgets have ballooned to unsustainable levels, leading to disasters like Concord or the half baked releases like Star Wars Outlaws.
Speaker AI know, Kingsley, you said it was good.
Speaker AThe money is shifting to indies.
Speaker AGames like Hades 2, Palworld and Lethal Company are winning because they focus on being fun and respect the player's wallet.
Speaker AYou can get four unique indie experiences for the price of one quote gamble of an AAA title these days.
Speaker AAnd then the, the last thing he talks about is the lesson for the industry.
Speaker AThe takeaway is pretty simple.
Speaker AMonetization shouldn't be the goal here.
Speaker AIt should be the result of making a great game.
Speaker AAAA studios are losing the back end of the market because they've forgotten to ask the most basic question.
Speaker AIs the core game actually fun?
Speaker AI mean, it's a, it's a tough look that he has on the industry, but it's a dialogue I think we need to have here.
Speaker ABecause if the big studios don't start respecting the community again and we're just money making machines for investors, they're going to lose an entire generation of gamers for good.
Speaker ABut I'm curious what the live chat thinks.
Speaker AI'm curious what you guys here in the, in the, in the show think about this.
Speaker AAre you, are you finding more joy in those $20 indie gems or, or do you still buy the $70 blockbusters?
Speaker AWhat do you guys think?
Speaker ALandon, I'll start with you, man.
Speaker AWhat do you think about all this?
Speaker CA lot of the times when I look at a game, I look for gameplay first.
Speaker CI don't look at trailers, I don't look at story.
Speaker CI look at the gameplay.
Speaker CAnd if it.
Speaker CThe Gameplay looks fun.
Speaker CThen I'll dive deeper and look at story and see if it's interesting.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker CLike, I have a lot more indies on downloaded right now than I do like aaa.
Speaker AReally?
Speaker AAnd you're considered.
Speaker AYou're.
Speaker CAre you millennial or gen Z, whatever 96 is.
Speaker AYou're millennial.
Speaker AGen C, I think.
Speaker AStarted with 98.
Speaker A99.
Speaker A99, I think.
Speaker ANo.
Speaker AAnyway, so you're, you're, you're, you're a young millennial, basically.
Speaker ASounds like.
Speaker AOkay, so you're buying mostly, mostly indies now.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CAnd then there are obviously the big releases that everyone will be talking about.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker COne we'll talk about later, which I'll.
Speaker CI have thoughts on.
Speaker CAnd then Starfield's got announced on PlayStation.
Speaker CI'll probably pick that up because I've been wanting to try it.
Speaker ACool.
Speaker AHow about you, Kingsley?
Speaker AWhat do you tend to.
Speaker ATo go toward these days?
Speaker AI know we're.
Speaker BWell, yeah, it's interesting.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AWe're kind of the white whales, right.
Speaker AWe're the ones that have the disposable income.
Speaker ABut I'm just still curious what you think about it.
Speaker BSure.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BNo, on that.
Speaker BI was going to put that in the equation and then.
Speaker BAnd then I'm definitely interested to answer the other questions too about.
Speaker BOn the article.
Speaker BBut yeah, like for video games, money, luckily for me, at this point in life isn't really a concern.
Speaker BIt doesn't mean like I buy everything just haphazardly.
Speaker BI don't buy that many video games probably compared to Todd, you haven't played as many.
Speaker BBut anyways.
Speaker BNo, no, the point is, is like I don't really care if it's indie or big.
Speaker BNow, of course I'm going to be a little more skeptical these days on the big companies.
Speaker BI'm not just going to buy it because.
Speaker BBut there are plenty of big ones I will still buy on day one.
Speaker BAnd I have, and I did.
Speaker BRecently.
Speaker CYeah, very recently.
Speaker BThis is so funny.
Speaker BWe keep dancing.
Speaker AGo ahead, just say it.
Speaker AJust say what we.
Speaker ABecause I bought it.
Speaker ANo, no, I bought it too.
Speaker ALast night.
Speaker AAll right,
Speaker Bwell, whenever you want.
Speaker AThere's this little game called Crimson Desert that reminds me of my early days of Dynasty Warriors.
Speaker AAnd once I saw the gameplay on this game and I did listen to a couple people who are Destiny players that play this that have tried this game before it was released.
Speaker AThey got an early copy, they were blown away with it.
Speaker AAnd that's all I needed to hear, man.
Speaker AAnd I know I still need to play Elden Ring and like dad, Bodhiro was saying they're saying 300 hours to complete this game.
Speaker AOh, yeah, that's what I want.
Speaker AI want something to invest in time.
Speaker BTodd, you know, what you're saying is true, but also the opposite's true.
Speaker BI hear, too, like, yeah, Crimson warriors, but it has a wide variety of kind of like almost annoyingly super hard stuff, too.
Speaker BI mean, so it's going to be.
Speaker BIt's going to be a potential big mix.
Speaker BI'm a little scared.
Speaker BI bought it today, too.
Speaker BI even look, with how long the game is and how much exploration there is, even if I don't complete the full story, I would actually be happy, probably.
Speaker BOf course I want to complete it, but I'm a little concerned.
Speaker BLike, it has, like, some really good reviews, and then a couple of people are like, there's some bugs.
Speaker BBut suppose they came out with a huge patch today and they're.
Speaker BThey're.
Speaker BThat studio supposedly fixes bugs faster than most.
Speaker AWhat do you know?
Speaker AWhat do you know about this studio?
Speaker ADo you remember what studio is making this?
Speaker BOh, Pearl Abyss.
Speaker APearl Abyss.
Speaker AI don't know anything about the studio.
Speaker BThey did another game, Black Desert, in which I didn't play that, but Black
Speaker ADesert Online, it was a military shooter, I think.
Speaker BOh, wait, am I thinking of something else?
Speaker ASorry, go ahead, Batman.
Speaker BMaybe I said the wrong name of the game.
Speaker CI'm super.
Speaker BIt was Black Desert.
Speaker ABlack Desert.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker CYeah, but.
Speaker BBut it's an MMORPG.
Speaker BThese are action RPGs, not a military shooter.
Speaker AOkay, I'm thinking of something else.
Speaker CYeah, I'm interested in it, but the.
Speaker CThe one complaint I have seen about it is it's a slow burn, so it takes a little bit to, like, get into.
Speaker CSo I'm interested to see if that'll grab me because I had the same issue happen with the first Horizon game, Horizon Zero Dawn.
Speaker CThe first time I played it, I just could not.
Speaker CLike, the story was cool, the gameplay was cool, but something didn't click for me until I played it the second time and just got through it.
Speaker CAnd then when the world, like, opened up to, I was like, okay, I see why people like this game now.
Speaker AThat's exactly the way I played it.
Speaker AI first got it.
Speaker AI was like, I don't like this game.
Speaker AHacking into Beast.
Speaker AI don't like.
Speaker AI don't.
Speaker AThis is stupid.
Speaker AWhere's.
Speaker AWhere's the guns?
Speaker AThis is all bows and arrows.
Speaker AWhat the heck?
Speaker AAnd then I came back and said, all right, you bought the damn game.
Speaker ALet's go.
Speaker AJump in and play.
Speaker AIt's a PlayStation exclusive.
Speaker AJump in and oh my God, once I started playing the story, I was sucked in.
Speaker AI was good.
Speaker ASame way I came back to it after I initially bought it and loved it.
Speaker ASo Black Desert Online.
Speaker AYeah, that's what I thought.
Speaker BOkay, that might still be different than the Black Desert game.
Speaker BI haven't looked up.
Speaker AI'm probably thinking of another.
Speaker AAnother shooter game that I'm putting too much together.
Speaker ASpeaking of which, dad bought here.
Speaker AHad a couple comments in chat.
Speaker AHe goes, I also miss getting my month issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly magazines.
Speaker AIt was always exciting to see what would be coming soon.
Speaker AIt feels like the element of surprise is gone now because of content creation.
Speaker AHe also says, and I'm not saying content creation is a bad thing.
Speaker AIf anything, it's made video games more popular.
Speaker AI just missed the old school way of introducing a new game.
Speaker AYeah, and he said he bought it too.
Speaker ASo actually, what's that?
Speaker CGame Informer.
Speaker AI miss.
Speaker AYeah, I do too.
Speaker CBring it back to the gamestop days, dude.
Speaker AI'd learn about the new Destiny stuff coming up.
Speaker AWell, before the YouTubers got hands on or were able to release videos, I always got an early view on Game Informer.
Speaker CSo I distinctly remember Game Informer having a Forsaken cover because I had it somewhere.
Speaker BYou know, I remember the one for Rise of Iron.
Speaker BFor some reason, that Game Informer.
Speaker BAnd it's when I was getting into the game too and it told you about all the aspects ahead of time.
Speaker BI was like, that was like my bible for like a week.
Speaker AI was just reading all great illustrations.
Speaker AI mean it just showed you the UI and everything.
Speaker AIt was so fun to look.
Speaker AI just, I. I dive into those magazine articles.
Speaker ARodimus says indie gems are my staple now.
Speaker AFriend Slops, Deadpool, Will Mert.
Speaker AIndie games are more fun than AAA games now because they focus on what the gamers want versus trying to make money on everything.
Speaker ACrimson 300 hours straight through.
Speaker AOr is that doing every side quest?
Speaker AI'm not sure, Kelvin, what they're saying
Speaker Bthere, but you know, crazy numbers.
Speaker AI think that's if you want to platinum the game.
Speaker AI think that's what they're talking about there.
Speaker ASo that means probably all the stuff, but I think you can get through the.
Speaker AIf I remember correctly, the person I was watching the video on said he had a hundred hours in so far.
Speaker AHe says you could breeze through the campaign if you don't.
Speaker AIf you just skip everything.
Speaker ABut he says he's a hundred hours in and there's so Much more to do.
Speaker ASo it just sounds like an old fashioned video game and it's a single player game.
Speaker AYou play it, you sell the game, you buy the game, you play the game and you move on to the next game.
Speaker BWell, so they're trying to.
Speaker BIt's not going to be like Witcher style.
Speaker BBut look, anything that kind of comes out these days that are close to this, I.
Speaker BThis is my bread and butter and I don't care.
Speaker BI don't have to have a Witcher level every single time or things like that.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker AWell, when, when the, when two reviewers both said Dynasty Warriors, I said take my money because I love Dynasty Warriors.
Speaker ADon't get me wrong, I've played all, I played so many of those games, those hack and slash games.
Speaker ABut the problem with Dynasty wars is they, it's, the story's the same.
Speaker AIt's all about Chinese history and all these great warriors and stuff and they play out the same scenarios and there's a little strategy or little objectives involved, but other than that it's the same game.
Speaker AThey really never iterated anything, they never made anything different.
Speaker AAnd now when I saw this game, and of course the graphics are fantastic, so I bought it for PS5 Pro.
Speaker ASo we're going to see how it plays.
Speaker ABut that's probably going to be my game of the month, maybe for April.
Speaker AMarathon is it right now we'll talk about Marathon, but any other comments on these other parts?
Speaker AI know Kingsley, you wanted to maybe pick this apart.
Speaker BWell, I mean the story in general is funny, of course I agree with it all.
Speaker BBut also it's kind of like we could have said this two years ago, the exact same story.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BBut they're all good points.
Speaker BI'm not knocking that.
Speaker BI'm just saying the thing that I find that's most interesting.
Speaker BLet's talk about how much things have changed.
Speaker BI really think it's that Gen Z component and I talked about it even on the last week's show.
Speaker BLike it's not that people don't want to buy games, it's just mostly they can't afford them.
Speaker BAnd you could say that was always the case when we were younger, Todd.
Speaker BBut I really think it's worse these days where it's harder to have the funds for whatever reason, obviously, even if you have enough money.
Speaker BWe all know inflation and prices have
Speaker Agone up and we talked about this last week about how the younger generations aren't really.
Speaker AI know you didn't agree with me on this, but they're, they're Identifying themselves by the game they play, not the fact that they play a lot of games.
Speaker AAnd you can say maybe that's.
Speaker BOh, that point I had no comment on, actually.
Speaker ABut.
Speaker ABut the fact that, that, you know, Roblox is just millions and millions of people playing that game.
Speaker AI never even played that game once.
Speaker AAnd it's just a totally different generation.
Speaker ABut anyway, going back to this article, you know, the.
Speaker AThe bloat, the ownership problems, the generation, of course, we talked about being priced out.
Speaker AAnd then of course, this.
Speaker AThis guy, John Risatello.
Speaker ARisatello, you know, he's the one that got this mindset into all these AAA executives that everything seems to be so built around picking your wallet apart, you know, and you get.
Speaker AYou hear about these kids on these free to play games, spending $2,000 on this game with using their mom's credit card and stuff.
Speaker AYou hear about these nightmares all the time.
Speaker ABut any other.
Speaker AAny other comments on this?
Speaker AThis was just a kind of a callback story a little bit, but it was something I did want to still mention because I really liked the video, thought it was really good.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AAny other comments on this part?
Speaker BNo, I'm good, Landon.
Speaker AGood.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAll right, well, let's take a break and check in with Bungie.
Speaker AAnd boy, do we have an info dump this week.
Speaker AWe might be here a while, but we'll check in with that right after this.
Speaker AAll right.
Speaker AThis is as an homage to our roots as a Destiny podcast.
Speaker AWe check in with Bungie every week, see what's new, if anything, in Destiny 2.
Speaker AAnd now Marathon, of course.
Speaker ASo here we go.
Speaker AFirst it is Marathon.
Speaker AWe've got a massive update from the team over at Bungie regarding the future of the Tau Ceti grind.
Speaker AAnd I wanted to break down exactly what's heading our way here.
Speaker AFirst, we're looking at the debut of Ranked Mode, which is hitting beta for season one starting this weekend, the 21st.
Speaker AIf you've hit runner level 25, you'll have your first shot at climbing the ladder through six different ranks, all the way from bronze to that coveted Pinnacle status.
Speaker ANow, I want to dive into this new Bet on Yourself mechanic they're introducing with holo tags.
Speaker AEssentially, you're picking your stakes before you even drop into the map.
Speaker AThese tags set your score target and your loss penalty.
Speaker ASo you've got to decide exactly how much skin you want to put into the game.
Speaker AIt is literally a risk it for the biscuit kind of scenario where you need to hit your loot target and then exfil to earn the rank points and you got exfil.
Speaker AThen there's two different matchmaking pools.
Speaker AYou're going to have a low stakes pool and a high stakes pool.
Speaker ATo keep things fair, there's gonna be gear ante.
Speaker AYou have to be at least 3,000 credits in your loadout for the standard queue.
Speaker AWhich means no more matching with teammates running naked knife builds.
Speaker ADid you do that?
Speaker ALandon, you run the naked knife build free loadouts?
Speaker CYeah, I do free loadouts all the time.
Speaker AI do too.
Speaker ASo you gotta bring the heat if you wanna compete.
Speaker AGeez, did I just make that up?
Speaker AOkay, for the.
Speaker AFor the final bit of news, the next bit of news, let's talk rewards.
Speaker ABungie is focusing on your highest rank achieved during the season.
Speaker ASo whenever you peak at the highest rank for the season, you'll get rewarded with all the different rewards they have.
Speaker ASo you can push for those exclusive emblems, the gun styles, without the constant fear of tanking your standing right at the end.
Speaker AThis is what I always hated about comp is you'd have.
Speaker AYou'd have great games.
Speaker AYou comp.
Speaker AYour comp score would start flying up and then you had one bad game.
Speaker AIt would bring you.
Speaker AIt's like.
Speaker AIt was like two steps forward and one step back.
Speaker AIt was just a.
Speaker AJust a fricking nightmare trying to play comp in Destiny 2.
Speaker AThe next thing is Bungie just dropped another patch 1.05 for Marathon.
Speaker AAnd the biggest news is that the Cryo Active or the Cryo Archive is officially in the game now.
Speaker AThey're being pretty cryptic about how you actually get there, but they actually dropped a story today.
Speaker AAnd I'll get to that.
Speaker AThere's three new random rolled implants you can convert Recovery for faster heals and smoke.
Speaker AYou have Freeloader for ability energy on knife kills and panic response for a cardio kick buff when you're low.
Speaker AThere are also a few new mods like Punishment for extra damage against redacted enemies, Testament for massive add range boosts and Hurricane for better air stability.
Speaker AThe most clutch change though is definitely being able to activate exfil beacons while you're downed.
Speaker AThat's great.
Speaker AThey also finally increased vault stack sizes.
Speaker AThank you for consumables and ammo.
Speaker AThat was nuts.
Speaker AIt was taking up all my damn stash or my vault.
Speaker AIt's a massive win for the inventory management side.
Speaker AOn the balance side, the WSTR shotgun got a hit with a nerf to its aim assist and its damage fall off.
Speaker AWhile the Misria 2442 got a recoil buff.
Speaker APlus they cleaned up a ton of codex bugs, fixed achievements and added new challenges for the Archive.
Speaker ABasically it's a pretty big update for the grind and marathon these days.
Speaker AThey did drop an article for the Cryoarchive and I think this is what you guys are referring to as far as the drama, but let me just give you the.
Speaker CWell, it's.
Speaker CIt's both the ranked and cryo, but we'll talk about when you're done.
Speaker AWell, let me give you the highlights of this.
Speaker AThe new cryo archive that just dropped it is in the game now.
Speaker AIt's an in game activity.
Speaker AIt serves as the game's first raid style PvPVE endgame experience set within the labyrinth depths of the UESC Marathon ship.
Speaker AThe one that's, you know, stabbed into a.
Speaker AA moon.
Speaker AThe entry requirements to participate, players must reach level 25.
Speaker AWe talked about that.
Speaker AUnlock all six factions and bring a loadout valued at a minimum of 5000 credits.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ALimited availability.
Speaker AThe Archive is weekends only event accessible from Friday through Sunday.
Speaker AThe map structure, it's a zone that features a central hub connected to six distinct wings.
Speaker AYou have Cargo index, Steerage, Revival, Bio, Biostock and Preservation.
Speaker AAnd it's a very, very much a high stakes gameplay.
Speaker ARunners must navigate the intense UESC security and hostile rival crews to shoot frozen vaults and uncover the quote dark secrets.
Speaker AThey have exclusive loot, players can earn unique mods and implants.
Speaker AWe talked a little bit about that.
Speaker ASuch as Punishment and Testament, which are specifically designed for very high level play.
Speaker AAnd the sponsored kits to help players manage the high risk of gear loss.
Speaker ABungie offers a one time sponsored kit for their first foray into the Archive.
Speaker AAnd the objective basically relies on your tactical coordination and risk management during an increasingly difficult extraction process.
Speaker ASo what?
Speaker AOkay, you guys mentioned there's a bunch of drama around this.
Speaker ANow that I've laid out what the cryo archive is, what's the drama?
Speaker AWhat's going on right now with this?
Speaker BWell, can you guess at all taught?
Speaker AI think I know.
Speaker AI think I know.
Speaker CIn Destiny 2 a new raid comes out.
Speaker CBrand new raid, everyone's excited about it.
Speaker CThat's only available on weekends.
Speaker AI can hear McMaximo screaming at the at the wheel right now.
Speaker CSo are you also ranked?
Speaker CThe ranked mode is also only available on weekends.
Speaker CSo why are we having two events on only on weekend?
Speaker CIt just didn't make sense to me.
Speaker BWell, I mean I'm even confident enough to go one further and say that I don't think Most of these things should be all weekend.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAnd if you're going to do something, have it rotate a full week at a time or if you want to occasionally have a really special couple day thing the first time, have it on the weekend the next time.
Speaker BHaving a Monday, Tuesday the next time.
Speaker BAnd then all the people the other way will say oh wait, you know what I mean?
Speaker BLike so make it fair.
Speaker BHave it be rotating or just have it all the time.
Speaker BYou know, there's people that work the weekends.
Speaker BThere's all sorts of reasons why you and I think, look, I know you want to get people excited and stuff but there's got to be better ways to do it or have the rotating thing.
Speaker BI promise having it in the whole time, that's not going to be necessarily a reason why less people would play your game.
Speaker BThat's for sure.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CIf anything it'd make you play more.
Speaker CAnd like with this I feel like no secrets are going to be solved so quickly and I think that's why they're doing it.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CIs because they want people to take their time to the secrets because it's only available on the weekends.
Speaker CSo you're going to get in, find something and die and not be able to find it again.
Speaker CBut it just, it's a weird decision.
Speaker CI, I'm not a huge fan of it.
Speaker CI, I, I hope everyone's feedback is.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker CWhat do you think?
Speaker BWell, I, you seem like you don't almost don't care but like I'm curious, you know.
Speaker ANo, I do care.
Speaker AI do care.
Speaker AWeekends aren't an issue for me.
Speaker AThat's usually when I have time to game on the weekends.
Speaker ACrazy enough.
Speaker BWell, they aren't for me either.
Speaker BBut I'm trying to be fair.
Speaker AI'm confused.
Speaker AHere is the, is the ranked and the cryo activity two separate events?
Speaker CYes.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker CThey're two separate things.
Speaker AI want to make sure of that first.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AI think I'm just thinking about all these people who are PVE players that are been really working at this arg and they finally solve it to unlock it in the game and now there's all these, these requirements to get in there.
Speaker AI understand that.
Speaker AYou know, this is kind of like the end game.
Speaker AIt's like, it's like a raid.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AYou should be at a certain power level to be able to go into the raid.
Speaker AThat's fair.
Speaker AI mean that makes you grind these beginning areas which I'm well into the beginning still of grinding this game.
Speaker AAnd I mean I like that part because it's something you work toward.
Speaker ANot crazy about the weekend thing, though, because I know there's a lot of people who.
Speaker AEspecially younger people, man.
Speaker AMy daughter works in a restaurant.
Speaker BHer.
Speaker AShe works all weekend.
Speaker AThere's no way.
Speaker AIf she was involved in this, she'd be able to play it.
Speaker AShe's.
Speaker AShe'd be exhausted from work and I don't know, maybe even let it go to reset.
Speaker ALike, maybe like have a reset.
Speaker ALike Tuesday, like Wazir and everything.
Speaker BWell, they.
Speaker BThey are doing that a little bit on some of it, but Sunday.
Speaker BI see that goes to the point.
Speaker BSee, I'm fair where fair is fair.
Speaker BI don't think trials should be like that either.
Speaker BI mean, imagine if Iron Banner was that short.
Speaker BYou would be pissed.
Speaker AIt's very much.
Speaker BThere's other endgame things.
Speaker BWe have precedence with that.
Speaker BI think try hards don't just play on the weekend.
Speaker BThere's plenty of try hards that play during the week, too.
Speaker BAnd I promise there's ways they can do this to keep it exciting yet still have it all the time.
Speaker AI think they'll change it, to be honest.
Speaker AI think they want this game to be ahead.
Speaker BI think they'll have late breaking news.
Speaker BSorry.
Speaker BOh, about Zo.
Speaker BJoe Ziegler already wrote back and responding to a lot of this.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker ADo you know.
Speaker ADo you have the tweet?
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd first of all, there's one other part to this too, also.
Speaker BPeople are.
Speaker BSome people are upset that you.
Speaker BYou have to go in with the team.
Speaker BI mean, I think that kind of makes sense.
Speaker BAgain, with rage.
Speaker BYou have to have a team.
Speaker CYou have.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BWhat do you think, Todd?
Speaker AOh, the solo issue.
Speaker AI think it's too difficult probably for a solo, but, I mean, you're so 100%.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AI think there's people like, you know, plus.
Speaker BPlus you don't want to have uneven since there's the PvP element.
Speaker BEven if someone's God mode, I still think it's better having three versus three,
Speaker Cyou know, I think.
Speaker ASo
Speaker Chow difficult cryo is going to be?
Speaker CThere is a challenge in the game already right now to kill a hundred UESC bots in one run.
Speaker AWow.
Speaker AThat many bots gonna be in there.
Speaker AHoly crap.
Speaker AWell, okay.
Speaker AI'll put it in perspective anyway.
Speaker BSo, yeah, so basically they're already.
Speaker BThey're already looking into it, which is super cool that they respond this quickly.
Speaker BHe said.
Speaker BWe also acknowledge that there are likely some who cannot participate on the weekend or are excited about the experience.
Speaker BAnd want to know life it for weeks and we appreciate that.
Speaker BWe'll be looking into what we can do to retain these considerations and potentially accommodate this in the future.
Speaker BWe could stagger ranked and cryo cues more so they overlap less.
Speaker BLook at changing the days.
Speaker BWe do either cryo ranked, changing the ante values of cryo ranked or looking at other conditions like crew fail experience, solo experience.
Speaker BHe even said the solo thing, you know, and iterating on it.
Speaker BSo they're kind of considering and hopefully they're not just faking this news.
Speaker BBut no, I think they're listening.
Speaker AI think genuinely this is their in game.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker AThey want people to.
Speaker BThey already.
Speaker CSo there was videos earlier today that I saw about slide canceling and not even two hours later they were like, it's already getting fixed.
Speaker CYeah, don't enjoy it now.
Speaker BThis is crazy, but amazing.
Speaker AThis is Bungie's hardcore PvP game and newer engine.
Speaker BI'm telling you, the technical things, they can do things better.
Speaker BIt's the same engine but newer.
Speaker BIt's the better.
Speaker AWell, they probably had all these, you know, they probably Learned from making Destiny 2 when they built this game that they probably already started doing some improvements on that Tiger engine.
Speaker ASo not to mention dedicated servers.
Speaker AThat's a big deal, man.
Speaker AThat is a really.
Speaker BEverything gets just so much better here.
Speaker AI'll give you a comparison.
Speaker AThe Solo versus the 3v3.
Speaker AIt's like if I was to go into play solo in trials, there'd be no chance, man.
Speaker AJust three guns shooting you versus one.
Speaker AIt just be would be too difficult to do.
Speaker AI'm sure there's someone who would love to try it, but.
Speaker AAnd I've seen people that jump in these Games and their two buddies leave because they want to 1v3 somebody and it's just like a stunt.
Speaker AI think Generally, I think 3v3 is fine and you need to be coordinated anyway.
Speaker AIt's like a raid, right?
Speaker AWhy would you go into a raid solo if you can't even do the encounter?
Speaker ABecause the mechanics involve multiple people doing different things.
Speaker AAnd I know people will bypass that too with skating and all kinds of different tricks, but.
Speaker BOh yeah, but like it's supposed to be meant for three.
Speaker BI mean, maybe if someone finds a way to glitch in solo, whatever.
Speaker BBut I think they do want to actually have 3v3 fights.
Speaker BEven if you have a God mode, one person just make it even, you know.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AScarlet, Maddie had a comment here.
Speaker AHe's a.
Speaker BHe's.
Speaker AHe loves this game, man.
Speaker AHe every Time I jump in, he's like, hey, you want to group up?
Speaker ALet's play.
Speaker AHe says, they want you to obsess over your marathon runs.
Speaker AI'm going to go insane.
Speaker ALmfao in a good way.
Speaker AIt's.
Speaker AIt's a trials of a sire situation.
Speaker AThey did stagger the days so rank doesn't start until Saturday and it ends on Tuesday and cryoactive is Friday through Monday.
Speaker AIt's a weird decision.
Speaker AI hope they respond positively and feedback and give us a little more time in there.
Speaker ARanked is Saturday through Tuesday and cryo is Friday through Monday.
Speaker AI want to spend all my time in there.
Speaker AI know that's going to be something that want to prevent probably because if they were people like me would have to go to other maps.
Speaker APlayed a lull but the game should be popular enough where it's a non issue.
Speaker AHere's what I'm going to love about this.
Speaker AI'm going to.
Speaker AI'm just starting out at, you know, I'm like I don't know, 13, 14 maybe.
Speaker AI've, you know, I played probably a good maybe eight hours in this game now.
Speaker AIt's going to be great because all the hardcore players are going to be doing that.
Speaker AI want to jump in the regular ranked or cryo.
Speaker AI'm going to do the regular runs and I'm going to just get all my bounties done.
Speaker AYou know, get your bounties done, get paid.
Speaker ASo that's.
Speaker AI'm looking forward to that part because it won't be as sweaty in those maps.
Speaker ABut, but no, that's.
Speaker AI mean I, yeah, I could see.
Speaker AI, I think they'll.
Speaker AThey'll do right.
Speaker AI, I'm.
Speaker AI have faith that they'll do right and get that taken care of.
Speaker ASo the next thing I want to talk about is Bungie.
Speaker AWe have a.
Speaker AAt least somewhat of a twab this, this week.
Speaker BSo this week you meant Destiny.
Speaker BYou said Bungie.
Speaker AI mean.
Speaker ABut Destiny.
Speaker AYes.
Speaker ASorry.
Speaker AFor Destiny 2 there is a new this Week in Destiny article out.
Speaker ASo this week in Destiny for March 19th it covers basically the return of Guardian games and they have a massive crossover with Magic the Gathering and several sandbox balance updates.
Speaker AThe breakdown basically is this.
Speaker AThe.
Speaker AThe Guardian games event will feature a new Rush down remix.
Speaker AIt's a mode with random boss encounters.
Speaker APlayers can earn three new exclusive weapons.
Speaker AThe Triple Laureate which is a stasis hand cannon.
Speaker AThe Beacon which is a solar fusion rifle and the Kranios, it's an arc trace rifle.
Speaker AI think I remember that one from last time.
Speaker AThen they have this magic.
Speaker AThe Gathering collaboration the new armor sets are inspired by the planeswalkers are coming to the universe.
Speaker AThe Titans have the Chandra's Nalar the Flame Collar set.
Speaker AHunters have the Jace Beleren the Mind Sculptor set.
Speaker AThe Warlocks have the Liliana Vess the Death Majesty set until I play this game.
Speaker AAdditional items include a Phyrexian themed ship Sparrow and an Imrakul ghost shell.
Speaker AThey do have some sandbox and ability changes.
Speaker AWarlocks the handheld Supernova bug the stacking weaken effects is fixed.
Speaker AThe Wanderer tangles now deal full damage.
Speaker AThe Hunter Ascension and combination blow now trigger lethal current Titan's roaring flames now stack from weapon sourced ignitions and the rewards new rewards economy the new rare Vanguard orders during Guardian games will grant 50 bright dust per completion up to a thousand weekly cap and the active modifiers.
Speaker AThe heavy ammo surge remains active in the portal activities until March 24 providing ammo regeneration for power weapons.
Speaker AAnd they had the the community event the Postcards from the Frontier that continues this week and it's rewarding.
Speaker ACreators of selected screenshots with their Golden Age emblem and there's some neat postcard pictures in there if you want to see those.
Speaker ABut I did want to show this armor that they have coming out for.
Speaker AFor the Guardian games which is why I will be playing it.
Speaker AI want to share it here.
Speaker AThis armor looks really good, man.
Speaker AI don't know about you guys but you have the.
Speaker AThe lion face.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CThis is probably the most class themed armor we've seen.
Speaker AAnd you have the snake.
Speaker AOh my God.
Speaker AThe hunter snake.
Speaker AIt has the fangs as the fangs.
Speaker AYou can see them a little bit.
Speaker AAnd then of course the.
Speaker AThe kind of the.
Speaker AThe hawk like kind of look for the.
Speaker AI mean that's a.
Speaker AThat's a nice set, man.
Speaker AI'm definitely gonna.
Speaker AI think you can buy this for 6000 bright dust or I think like 1500 silver.
Speaker AI think for these Just like the old, old days.
Speaker ABut I don't know man.
Speaker AThis.
Speaker AThis looks really cool.
Speaker AI'm.
Speaker AI'm impressed with this set.
Speaker AIt looks like they put a lot of time in this so I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker AI mean look at the fangs on.
Speaker AOn that.
Speaker AThat is.
Speaker AThat looks really good.
Speaker ASo anyway, I wanted to show you that this is the.
Speaker AThe ship, the sparrow and the ghost shell.
Speaker AAnd then these are the weapons.
Speaker AShow the pictures of them right here.
Speaker ALook pretty good.
Speaker ALiking those.
Speaker ABut that's it for Destiny this week.
Speaker AThat's it.
Speaker AFor this week in Destiny.
Speaker ASo I just wanted to show you that because they were really, really impressive when they put them in the twab.
Speaker AAnd thank goodness there's something in the twab this week.
Speaker AMy Lord.
Speaker AMan, it's been really rough.
Speaker AAnyway, that's all I have for.
Speaker AI believe that's all I have for.
Speaker AOh, I'd wanted to.
Speaker AI wanted to.
Speaker ANo, I already talked about it.
Speaker AOkay, nevermind.
Speaker AMy bad.
Speaker AAll right, let's get into our.
Speaker BIs that on my side?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AWhat's that?
Speaker BSorry I cut out again.
Speaker BWas that on my side?
Speaker AYeah, it must have been.
Speaker BOh, other people in the Discord chat are saying they're having issues too.
Speaker BThere might be like a router, like a main routing issue in the US right now.
Speaker ANo, I hope not.
Speaker ADang.
Speaker AOkay, see, well, I'm.
Speaker AI'm locally recording it, so we'll still have a recorded on here.
Speaker ABut no, we want to turn now to our next topic for tonight.
Speaker AAnd Kingsley Mack will be jumping in.
Speaker AWe'll be right back.
Speaker AAll right, we're on to our second topic tonight, and it is Mr. Kingsley Mac.
Speaker AMike, what do you got for us tonight, man?
Speaker BHey, how's it going?
Speaker BYeah, I just have a little short article per se, and then some news coming up.
Speaker BBut this kind of spoke to me recently because of course, you know, there's been so much talk about we like big video games or the analysts like big video games or whoever, whatever, you know.
Speaker BBut you know, generally if the game's made right, of course we like big games, but like, there are times where we can forget how good a short game can be or we don't know what short games may be good or maybe we don't have time for a big game.
Speaker BSo this is just a kind of an article to remind us.
Speaker BRecent ones.
Speaker BNow, most of these recent ones, I haven't played kind of any of them, but I know about a couple.
Speaker BBut I want to give some examples of ones that I played in the past that I've really liked.
Speaker BI want to hear from you guys also.
Speaker BOkay, so basically it starts off with.
Speaker BThese are basically games you can finish in 10 or 10 hours or less.
Speaker BSo not too bad, right?
Speaker AIt's not bad.
Speaker BFirst Cocoon.
Speaker BHas anyone heard of this?
Speaker ANo.
Speaker CNope.
Speaker CI've only known one on that list.
Speaker BYeah, it looks like a puzzle type game and it looks like cool like 3D animation style.
Speaker BAnd it's.
Speaker BIt's a short game, free of dialogue and features, minimal cutscenes, but offers players an immersed experience and it kind of won game awards prize for best debut indie game when it launched in 2023.
Speaker BSo I don't know, I. I should have known a little more about this game.
Speaker BOkay, next one's hi Fi Rush.
Speaker BIt's kind of a very cartoon art artsy style, basically rhythm based action game and clocks in right around 10 hours.
Speaker BOkay, this next one, Stray, I've heard of.
Speaker BDidn't we know some people playing Stray Batman.
Speaker AYeah, Remember that game?
Speaker AOh, I think, I think I got it.
Speaker BI haven't even played it yet.
Speaker AI think I Got it on PlayStation plus as a PlayStation, hi Fi Rush
Speaker Cis so much fun.
Speaker CIf you haven't played it, it's so good.
Speaker BWhat's the objective recommendation then?
Speaker BI'll actually consider it.
Speaker CBasically you are.
Speaker CYou get captured by robots and you're just trying to overthrow the bad robots.
Speaker AOh, okay.
Speaker CTldr.
Speaker CThere's a lot more to it, but that's basically it.
Speaker AOkay, cool.
Speaker BNo, seriously, I'll.
Speaker BI think I want to try all these games, you know, especially after reading the article and what.
Speaker BBut yeah, Stray, that's one about a cat, right?
Speaker BAnd you're kind of exploring around.
Speaker AI picked it up on PlayStation Plus.
Speaker AIt was free that that month.
Speaker ASo I said what the heck, put it in the.
Speaker BOh I wonder.
Speaker BBut I definitely want to play it either way.
Speaker BNext one.
Speaker BJusant J u s a n t 2023 game puzzle platformer.
Speaker BQuiet introspective indie title.
Speaker BIt's about the climb and tasks players with taking control of a lone wanderer as they attempt to reach the top of a massive tower.
Speaker BOkay, so didn't know about that one.
Speaker BAnd then one more they have on the list.
Speaker BCitizen Sleeper.
Speaker BThey just received a sequel in early 2025, but many gamers may not have checked out the original installment in 2022.
Speaker BIt's a role playing game that features a really interesting dice rolling mechanic.
Speaker BPlayers have to manage their dice assignments to complete activities, to progress the narrative and to maintain the degrading robot body.
Speaker BThe system will likely appear to gamer likely appear to gamers who are also fans of TTRPGs.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BTabletop, you know, so yeah, yeah, I mean all these sound good enough to me.
Speaker BI want to talk about some, you know, my favorites though from back in the day because this is like I always tell people too friends, if you want a short game.
Speaker BAnyone remember the super super classic amazing PlayStation game Journey?
Speaker AI remember it.
Speaker BJourney.
Speaker BIt's amazing.
Speaker BIt's that kind of wispy art style where you're like you look like You're a little cute spirit or something with, you know.
Speaker BBut you're going.
Speaker BYou're climbing mountains, you're going through buildings.
Speaker BAt the very end.
Speaker BIt's like call interactive.
Speaker BIt's like this amazing story.
Speaker BIt's in the background.
Speaker BIt kind of makes you feel all emotional at the end.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BAn amazing game.
Speaker BAnd then one other.
Speaker BI don't know if you guys.
Speaker BThis one less people knew about, but I really liked it was called Firewatch.
Speaker BIf any heard of that.
Speaker BIt was basically a short game where you're in the mountains and you know those Firewatch towers, like in the mountains out west.
Speaker CI've heard of that.
Speaker CSo I was like, aren't you like in a Firewatch tower?
Speaker BYes, but you're actually not in the Firewatch tower very long for most, 99% of the game.
Speaker BAnd you're exploring through caves.
Speaker BAnd it's kind of like a little bit spooky at times too.
Speaker BBut really fun game and a short game.
Speaker BYeah, we have some people in the chat.
Speaker BZombies tried.
Speaker BHi Fi.
Speaker BRush says it's fun.
Speaker BFirewatch was fun.
Speaker BSo do you guys have any other games to add that I was just
Speaker Astarting to think of.
Speaker AI was just looking up past games.
Speaker AI mean, there is one game that I haven't finished playing yet though.
Speaker ABut in Astrobot, a pretty, pretty short game.
Speaker AI've heard that it doesn't take that many.
Speaker AI think maybe 20 hours or less maybe.
Speaker AOh, we lost.
Speaker AWe lost Kingsley.
Speaker CWe lost him again.
Speaker CDang.
Speaker AHe might be having Internet issues.
Speaker AGo ahead, man.
Speaker CYeah, the one that I will always recommend, it's a little bit harder, but if you haven't played Remnant from the ashes or remnant 2 yet.
Speaker CRemnant 2, I have highly, highly recommend.
Speaker AVery much like a Destiny.
Speaker CPhenomenal game.
Speaker AYeah, I heard it's very much like Destiny.
Speaker CLove those games so much.
Speaker AOkay, I have that one.
Speaker AMine.
Speaker CI'm back.
Speaker AWe got you.
Speaker AWe.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AI have Remnant two in my.
Speaker AMy library because it looked really good, man.
Speaker ALook really good.
Speaker AI think that was a PlayStation plus game as well.
Speaker ABut I think Astrobot is considered a.
Speaker AUnder 20 hours.
Speaker AThey're saying
Speaker Bwe'll include that one.
Speaker ARatchet and Clank.
Speaker AI mean Rift apart.
Speaker AThey said 11 to 12 hours to finish that one.
Speaker AFallen Order.
Speaker AI should have finished that game.
Speaker A15, 18 hours.
Speaker AThat's not that bad.
Speaker AWhy didn't I finish that game?
Speaker AThat was a great game, man.
Speaker AOh, they added layers levels a bit later.
Speaker ADad bought.
Speaker AI got you 99 different levels.
Speaker AHoly crap.
Speaker ACan't wait to play with my grandson.
Speaker AHe's gonna love that game.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BWell, anyways, you know, short games are great, right?
Speaker BAnd something we can look forward to.
Speaker BAnd if we can't, you know, there's plenty of old ones.
Speaker BI'm sure you all haven't played that are good, so keep em on your list.
Speaker AWell, there you go.
Speaker AWe just.
Speaker AWell, we provided some information for everybody.
Speaker AIf there's some games you want to check out that are short, especially with a little break we have in destiny right now.
Speaker AThat's why I figured it'd be a good thing to talk about.
Speaker BWell, and with that, there's always tons of more division news and things that are going on and exciting things to look forward to coming up.
Speaker BOkay, so I don't know where we want to start with this.
Speaker BThere's so much.
Speaker BBut I'll just start on the administrative company side first.
Speaker BYou know, there's.
Speaker BAnd there's even late breaking stuff today, and I'm not up on all the details.
Speaker BBut what's most important with what I care about right now is the way they're structuring the studio houses and the way division's all in there.
Speaker BIt's kind of a golden goose along with Assassin's Creed right now.
Speaker BAnd so we don't have anything to worry about with Division.
Speaker BI mean, they already are working on planning, like, DLCs that are coming out soon and Division 3 and all these things.
Speaker BSure.
Speaker BYou know, anything can happen two, three years down the road, but right now it is full steam ahead.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AYeah, I'm probably gonna jump in and play it.
Speaker AI'm gonna go ahead and probably buy it.
Speaker CI. I don't know when.
Speaker CNot recommend that game enough.
Speaker AI know, but dude, I got so many games to play.
Speaker AI mean, I'm still trying to level up a marathon right now, but I mean, well, you.
Speaker BYou decided to do one new one a month.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker BYou could always change that.
Speaker BTwo months period.
Speaker AOne a month is already a lot.
Speaker ABut.
Speaker BNo, no, I mean, like, yeah, one every other month.
Speaker BSo you can space it out or something.
Speaker AYeah, I. Dude, you should see my backlog.
Speaker AI got so many games I want to play.
Speaker ANo, I like that.
Speaker AI like the once a month.
Speaker ACause it forces me to try a new game every month.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd that even if, you know, obviously
Speaker Aeven if I don't finish.
Speaker BBut you get it sampling.
Speaker AYeah, yeah, I get it.
Speaker AI'm giving it a good at least eight, eight to ten hour playthrough.
Speaker AAnd that's.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker BWell, with Division, the very 1st of April and also, well, kind of that March 31st, 1st of April kind of time frame.
Speaker BAlso, this isn't interesting to me, but they are coming out with their mobile game finally.
Speaker BThey had an other older, which we were talking about a little bit earlier, like Heartland, I don't know.
Speaker BBut their main.
Speaker BTheir main mobile games actually coming out end of this month.
Speaker BOkay, what's it called?
Speaker BWhat's it called?
Speaker CBatman.
Speaker CI'm trying to look that.
Speaker BAnd even though I'm not interested in.
Speaker BIs working out pretty good for them.
Speaker BAnd they're timing it perfectly.
Speaker BSee, Destiny never did this with Destiny Rising and Destiny, but they are timing it perfectly with a big drop in Division 2, which I'll get to here in a second division.
Speaker CResurgence.
Speaker BResurgence.
Speaker BI wanted to say Resurgence, but I don't know.
Speaker BI'll probably download it, but I probably won't play it.
Speaker BBut maybe a little bit.
Speaker BBut Division 2's Year 8 seasonal model, where they usually have still about, you know, three or four seasons per year, they actually stay on track.
Speaker BI don't know how they do it and come out with new stuff all the time.
Speaker BBut Year eight, the big update, which isn't even the dlc, we're also getting a DLC later this year, but this is just a big seasonal update where a bunch of things are changing, basically.
Speaker BI'll try to keep it short, but seasonal modifiers, instead of just.
Speaker BYou get them from doing certain little quests.
Speaker BThey still have those quests for people that like that, but now you can just.
Speaker BIt's like a currency.
Speaker BYou get doing anything.
Speaker BAnd the seasonal modifiers can stack.
Speaker BAnd it's so funny, Todd, you'd love this.
Speaker BThe way they described it, they said it's like Balatron, where you can, like, you have to have them in a correct order.
Speaker AI heard that they were going to add modifiers like Balatro had.
Speaker AI love their modifiers, man.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker BAnd so they're doing that and you do them the correct order, and if you do it that way, then they can stack and stuff.
Speaker BAnd so this is new to me too, because they haven't had this in the game.
Speaker BBut this is coming 1st of April in the big update that was also.
Speaker BThey're having a new weapon type, a whole new type above Exotics.
Speaker BWhat is it called?
Speaker BIt wasn't mythic.
Speaker BMythic is Diablo.
Speaker BNow.
Speaker BI forget the name.
Speaker BDo you remember the name Batman?
Speaker CJust looking it up right now.
Speaker BYou can be my live correspondent to look that up.
Speaker AI know you're playing.
Speaker AI know you're playing both games simultaneously right now.
Speaker ASo I Know that's probably why the terminology is tough.
Speaker AI see you playing Diablo and well,
Speaker Byeah, I'm playing Diablo more right now.
Speaker BAnd then I'll Switch to Division 1st of April and then I'll switch back to Diablo end of April because that's when the Diablo DLCs.
Speaker BBatman's loving this too.
Speaker BHe's pretty similar with me on.
Speaker BOn this stuff.
Speaker BBut I always joke the.
Speaker AThe.
Speaker BThe 3.
Speaker BThe 3DS are my main games.
Speaker BDestiny, Diablo and Division.
Speaker ABut I think if I jumped in Diablo I would never return.
Speaker BYeah, there's a lot.
Speaker BThe grind there is amazing.
Speaker BIt.
Speaker BYeah, if you want to grind you can, but you don't have to.
Speaker BAnyways, I'll try to shorten this up but the whole new weapon archetype that's higher than exotics and higher than legendaries and they say it's worth but it's very kind of endgamey.
Speaker BTry hard to get these generally.
Speaker BSo they're adding a new difficulty on because the game has gotten a little bit easier over the years.
Speaker BBut they're going to keep that for people that like that and add this new difficulty on and they're purple type weapons.
Speaker BI forget the names.
Speaker BBut if they're also going to have like 10 additional level tiers for doing activities also that again this is all optional.
Speaker BOpt in only if you want.
Speaker BMostly it's for a little bit the higher levels for getting this new tier of gear.
Speaker BBut the thing about this tier of gear is like it's not required by any means.
Speaker BIt's.
Speaker BThey're doing in a really good way where you don't feel like you're totally losing out if you don't want to do that.
Speaker BAnd then one other thing that's probably boring for people that don't play it a lot.
Speaker BBut they're adding Black Tusks into the.
Speaker BThe control points and the.
Speaker BThe retaliations which I think is super cool, but you wouldn't know what that means.
Speaker ABlack Tusk are those enemy types or
Speaker Bsomething that's an enemy type but they were never in the public zones.
Speaker BSo Division has a really, really live public place space.
Speaker BLike you run around the streets and there's public events going on way better than how Destiny does it and all sorts of things going on.
Speaker BAnd.
Speaker BAnd you can set your world tier level but also there's different enemy faction types that are actually, you know, close to each other.
Speaker BAnd Black Tusk couldn't take over control points ever before.
Speaker BWell, not really.
Speaker BThey kind of had like a sub control point before.
Speaker BIt but now they can actually do more things in the world.
Speaker BAll right, so you know, geeky stuff for people that have to play.
Speaker BBut it's a big update coming out first of April.
Speaker AOkay, sounds good.
Speaker BWhat else?
Speaker BYeah, and I know like we've done a lot of the things in the game, except I think you said you've tried the raids at one point.
Speaker CI have done one raid and it.
Speaker CI just got in a backpack and got carried by an LFG group, so I didn't know anything that was going on.
Speaker CBut the raids seem fun.
Speaker CDo one of those and get.
Speaker CTry to do the incursion.
Speaker BRight on.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker BAny other news about division you wanted to talk about, Batman?
Speaker CSpeaking of incursions, they are doing a new incursion with season eight as our year eight as Also the survival game mode, which is one of the first extraction shooters is coming to division two.
Speaker CAnd I love.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker CThat's coming too in division one.
Speaker ASo you're gonna have a PvE also
Speaker Bcross play a lot of people.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker CSo in division one you could choose between PvEVP or just PvE, right.
Speaker AYou can choose between dark sounds.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker CThe new gear type is called prototype grade prototype.
Speaker BBut.
Speaker BBut also like this is primarily.
Speaker BAnd I think they should keep the PvP lively.
Speaker BBut this is a primarily a PvE game.
Speaker BThere's just so much to it.
Speaker BI think they just.
Speaker BI hate to say this, but rightly so put a little more development into the PvE side.
Speaker BBut I'm not saying they should.
Speaker BIf PvP's in there, they got to keep it going too.
Speaker CThey said they're working on balance changes.
Speaker CI don't think I've ever done PvP game.
Speaker CI think it's called conflict.
Speaker CI've never done it.
Speaker BSome people are way hardcore about though.
Speaker BThey would hate to see it gone.
Speaker BI mean, you know, like, obviously the game's suited more for the PvPve type stuff, but like Dark Zone.
Speaker BBut boy, some people would be upset if they got rid of the actual PvP zone.
Speaker CFor sure.
Speaker BIt sounds like destiny.
Speaker CRight?
Speaker BIt's almost like we're saying the same thing.
Speaker AI mean it's probably why you like the game, because it's very much like destiny.
Speaker AOh, in a lot of ways.
Speaker BWell, and, and, and then the build crafting and the seasonal stuff is way better on the end.
Speaker CWay more in depth with build crafting.
Speaker BWay better with builds.
Speaker ASee, I, I think I played.
Speaker AI think I played.
Speaker AI think I played the first game.
Speaker AI don't think I played the second game.
Speaker CI'M pretty sure I vaguely remember us playing the first one.
Speaker AYeah, there was a helicopter at the end.
Speaker AYep, that's the one I played.
Speaker AI remember the helicopter was a big disappointment.
Speaker AIt was like, oh, that's it.
Speaker CThe first one is fun.
Speaker CYeah, it got a lot better over time.
Speaker AYeah, they did.
Speaker CAnd same thing, same thing with two.
Speaker CBecause when the game first came out, it didn't look anything like it did now.
Speaker CLike there weren't any.
Speaker CSo now you have either armor damage or skill to spec into.
Speaker CPut on your armor that didn't exist as in depth as it does in when the game first came out.
Speaker AOkay, I'm probably gonna try it eventually.
Speaker BSo the amount of building and complexity you can get into and you don't have to, but you can get into is so big in Division 2.
Speaker BYou'll see when it opens up.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAll right, cool.
Speaker AGood to hear.
Speaker AAnything any other news to speak of?
Speaker BNot really.
Speaker BI mean, still, the MacBook Neo is getting really good reviews.
Speaker BPeople that are getting in their hands going to the Apple stores again for being a 500 to 600 computer.
Speaker BThey're like, it actually feels luxurious like a MacBook Pro, like feeling it.
Speaker BThe corners, the build, quality control.
Speaker BSo like you're not getting that much less of a computer for a way, way less price now that Apple has a $600 computer.
Speaker AIt's a smart thing to do.
Speaker AApple was trying to get people into their ecosystem and you know how it is, man.
Speaker AIt's funny, I'm Apple through and through, except PC because of the gaming aspect.
Speaker BBut of course, yeah, I have to have PC games.
Speaker AI am totally in there and totally in their platform.
Speaker AEverything I do revolves around Apple products.
Speaker ASo that's probably.
Speaker AIt's a smart move, man, because you get people who maybe can't afford the $3,500 VR setup, you know, and can jump in and get familiar with the Apple system with the Mac Mac pros and stuff.
Speaker AAnd with the Mac, the entry level Mac that they're talking about there, I don't know, I just.
Speaker AOne PC at a time for me, I can't.
Speaker AI'd probably cure.
Speaker AI mean, I have a laptop.
Speaker AI have a laptop.
Speaker AI never opened the damn thing because I'm always in here playing on this.
Speaker BSo I live on my laptop for sure.
Speaker AI wish I did, but yeah.
Speaker AAll right, well, thank you, Kingsley, as usual.
Speaker AThank you, sir.
Speaker AWe have a one more topic before we get into our catch up segment and that will be me closing out the show.

Speaker AAll right, our final topic tonight is it hinges on an article I read from the PC Gamer this past week.
Speaker AAnd it's they talk about a gaming studio that had the opportunity to reinvent the game before releasing it.
Speaker AAnd because of this, they have become a very popular live service game today.
Speaker AAnd that studio I'm referring to is Embark.
Speaker AI want to pull the article up here because it's a very short article, but I wanted to read it verbatim because there was a lot of good information in here.
Speaker APC PC Gamer was interviewing Kyo Braga.
Speaker AThis is the Arc Raiders production director and with Embark and he, you know, you know, everybody knows it emerged as a really, really popular PVEVP extraction shooter.
Speaker AAnd we even played in the the tournament FUDS tournament last week.
Speaker AAnd I had so much fun, man.
Speaker AAnd the worlds are so inviting.
Speaker AI can get lost in that place.
Speaker AI could just see it.
Speaker AThe only thing I hate, it's got a damn timer at the top of the screen.
Speaker ASo you got like 29 minutes to do whatever you're gonna do and get the hell out of there.
Speaker AI'd love to have it where I could just go in there like Destiny and just go through the world and just look around and take it all in.
Speaker AThey actually.
Speaker AWell, I was going to say.
Speaker AWhat's that?
Speaker CI hate to tell you, but the timer is an Extraction shooter.
Speaker AI understand that it's an extraction shooter.
Speaker AI get that.
Speaker ABut I'm telling you.
Speaker AWell, what's funny is this was actually going to be a PvE game.
Speaker CI want to see that game because this is probably the hottest take I have.
Speaker CBut I don't like Arc Raiders.
Speaker CI've tried it Four times and I just don't like it.
Speaker AWell, he, when he was talking to.
Speaker AAnd this is by the way is Lincoln Carpenter.
Speaker AHe does a lot of PC Gamer articles in the gaming industry.
Speaker AAnd when he was.
Speaker AAfter the interview was finished with PC Gamer, the, the director said that the, the.
Speaker AThe high profile live service launch failures that followed Embark's big hit.
Speaker AIt leaves him wishing other projects were given the space to reinvent themselves that Arc Raiders enjoyed.
Speaker AHe quote says this I try to hope that they were given the same chance we had because it's so hard to put a game out there having the trust and the time to improve those metrics.
Speaker AIt's just something that not all studios end up having.
Speaker AThey get canceled.
Speaker AThey're forced to launch something that was not yet good.
Speaker AI feel for it, to be honest.
Speaker AHe says part of the difficulty of the games industry is that the studios are expected to treat the, to treat the hit game launches of other studios as a roadmap that can be followed for their own success.
Speaker AEmbark's development process on Arc Raiders for example, once one where the 100 strong staff had all considerable autonomy in pursuing their own vision for the game.
Speaker ASounds like another studio wouldn't be feasible at many other studios.
Speaker AAnd they said, he says, quote, this participation that we have is something that every company can do, especially size wise.
Speaker AIt's very inefficient to have 22,000 people.
Speaker AIf all of them want to participate, we are 100.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AI mean even then sometimes we have trouble with that.
Speaker AAnd he said that game development isn't an exact formula.
Speaker AIt's one that works best when a studio can adjust or repurpose to meet its circumstances.
Speaker AA creative freedom that Embark was allowed but that many other studios aren't instead.
Speaker AAre.
Speaker AAren't.
Speaker AAren't instead.
Speaker AWhat we usually see is the High Guard scenario.
Speaker AAn unproven game is presented to the world with the expectation that it'll be an immediate phenomenon and acts before it can even find its footing.
Speaker AHe says looking at production as a little formula that you can follow, it usually does not work.
Speaker AThat was, that was the article in a nutshell.
Speaker ASo here's my take.
Speaker AI mean I know there's a lot of drama right now with Marathon.
Speaker AThe numbers aren't probably as great.
Speaker AObviously you cannot compare the numbers for Marathon to Destiny because no one cares about the numbers.
Speaker AThey're two different games.
Speaker ABut what I'm.
Speaker AWhat I'm really.
Speaker CThe people that care about the numbers are the people that want this game to fail.
Speaker AYeah, exactly.
Speaker AThose are the haters.
Speaker AAnd what I really hope is that Sony gives Marathon time to cook a little bit.
Speaker ABecause we all know if you remember back to the original Destiny game, remember they scrapped the entire campaign and rewrote a new one.
Speaker AThey.
Speaker AThey.
Speaker AThey had to totally do a 180 and turn around and make something else.
Speaker AI, like I said I wanted to share this article because I think Sony needs to let Marathon cook for a while.
Speaker AThey.
Speaker ABefore declaring it a success or a failure.
Speaker AAnd according to a lot of my fellow gamers in the discord, they're really enjoying the game, including me.
Speaker ASo that's just an example.
Speaker ABut what do you, what do you guys think?
Speaker AI mean, they're.
Speaker BGuess what?
Speaker BThey did actually.
Speaker BAnd even with all the issues we have with Sony and stuff, they did whoever's decision it was.
Speaker BMarathon did this too, to an extent.
Speaker BRemember Marathon changed a bunch of things.
Speaker BThey did, and it was all for the good.
Speaker BAnd if it, if people were generally liking the game how it is right now, then thank God they made those changes because the game may not have been good at all if they didn't make those changes.
Speaker AI guarantee you, if it was like the alpha that we were invited to play, I would not have.
Speaker CI wouldn't have played it.
Speaker ANot at all.
Speaker AI didn't play it for very long and Kingsley played it for probably even less time.
Speaker AI just did.
Speaker CI hated both the alpha and the beta and I was like, I don't know if I'm going to play this game.
Speaker CAnd then a friend of mine bought it for me and I was like, well, I have to now.
Speaker CAnd I love it so much.
Speaker AThe problem with Marathon.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker AWell, I was just gonna say the problem with Marathon is it takes.
Speaker AIt takes so much time that players have to invest and learn how the systems work.
Speaker AAnd I actually learned even more this past week playing about all of the different consumables and stuff and what they do and how you.
Speaker AI didn't know that if I took cardio kick or debug, if I'm a healer, that it actually spreads to the rest of my teammates.
Speaker AAnd then there's this one, there's this one consumable where you actually become pixelated and it's like a really, really good perk in the game where it's harder for other players to shoot you and for the PvE enemies to shoot you.
Speaker AAnd a lot of times you can just breeze right through them if you have this.
Speaker AI can't remember what it's called, but it's a really strong consumable right now, but.
Speaker BWell, yeah, so it's good news that we're getting pretty good news so far with how Marathon can work with that.
Speaker BBecause here's the wild card with the big companies, it could go either way.
Speaker BYeah, probably most of the time they don't have the freedom to change as quickly as the smaller companies.
Speaker BBut it can happen.
Speaker BDoesn't mean it's always going to happen.
Speaker BWe saw that with a little bit with Marathon and also we're seeing this potentially and it could all be talked, but we're seeing this with Ubisoft also.
Speaker BWhat they're doing, even though they're laying off a lot, is the creative houses below them.
Speaker BThey're giving them more autonomy, more freedom.
Speaker BWe'll see what that really means.
Speaker BBut in theory it's the right decision.
Speaker BIt's, you know, as long as they can just make money in general.
Speaker BThey don't.
Speaker BBefore they had to prove like game decisions too, not just like money decisions.
Speaker BWell now they can at least make game decisions and only get the money decisions approved.
Speaker AI mean in Concord nobody wanted that game.
Speaker AI mean the sales right off the bat were so bad.
Speaker AI mean it was obvious no one, this was not what players were looking for.
Speaker CAnd, and I don't think people wanted high, high guard more, if that makes any sense.
Speaker CNo one wanted high guard.
Speaker AHigh guard was a little different though.
Speaker AThey, they were kind of, it was kind of like a gambit game almost to a certain degree that I was watching people play it and it was like phases to the game and I was like, didn't have to cross love high guard.
Speaker AHe did at first.
Speaker AYeah he did.
Speaker AHe was playing with his teammates and he actually enjoyed it.
Speaker ABut man, did it drop off fast with player, you know, player counts and stuff.
Speaker CSo like there's just a lot of things in that game that just didn't make any sense.
Speaker CWhy would you make it 3 VP3v3 and a big empty map.
Speaker CAdd something into it to make it more of a threat.
Speaker CIt just, there were a lot of choices and again this didn't make sense.
Speaker AIt goes back to these studios or, or maybe the publisher's fault.
Speaker AThey're pushing out these games before they've really been thoroughly play tested and I, I think, I think they're just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks these days.
Speaker AAnd if it fails, it fails.
Speaker AYou know, okay, well that's a hundred million dollar write off.
Speaker AWe'll move on to the next game.
Speaker AAnd my, my biggest thing in, in the gaming industry right now Is that this cookie cutter mentality where.
Speaker AEspecially on shooter games.
Speaker AThis is why I'm really excited about this Crimson Desert game, because it's the opposite of that you're getting.
Speaker AYou know, usually when you get a game that has very good graphics, it's usually very shallow in other areas because they have to.
Speaker AThey have to focus all the memory and all the processing power on the graphics and they can't add a lot of depth to the.
Speaker ATo the game.
Speaker AI don't know what if that's a technical issue or it's by choice because how much money they're spending on the game to get those really good graphics.
Speaker ABut I've played a lot of games that have really beautiful graphics, but there's no progression to the game.
Speaker AAnd I mean, Battlefront comes to mind because the first Battlefront that came out right after.
Speaker AI think it was.
Speaker AIt was the.
Speaker AIt was made by the people who made Battle.
Speaker ABattle Battlefield, I think.
Speaker AAnd.
Speaker ABut the very first game that came out, it was.
Speaker AIt reminded me very much of Battlefield 1, the one with the World War I planes and stuff.
Speaker AThe.
Speaker AI.
Speaker AIf you came from Battlefield 3 or Battlefield 4, you got spoiled with the deep progression and all the selection of weapons and stuff and all the huge maps.
Speaker AI mean, we had.
Speaker AWe didn't realize how good we had it back in those days.
Speaker AAnd then you saw the more recent battlefields and they just didn't compare, man.
Speaker AIt just wasn't the same game.
Speaker AThere was no grind.
Speaker AIt was just all pretty.
Speaker AIt was a pretty game to play.
Speaker AAnd then they had problems with.
Speaker AYou couldn't pick out the enemies coming at you.
Speaker AAnd it was just a mess, man.
Speaker ABut I feel like we've heard this story.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker ASorry.
Speaker ATend to go back onto it.
Speaker ABut yeah, I mean, that's just an.
Speaker AThat's.
Speaker AThat's the example I can use because I lived it.
Speaker ABut yeah, I mean, I just, you know, I really thought of Marathon when I read this article about arc raiders because I think Marathon is going to be kind of a sleeper game.
Speaker AIf people can just spend the time and once you understand how the systems and everything works, you really.
Speaker AThe wheels start spinning and you start understanding.
Speaker AOh, man.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AI know I need to go to this location to get these materials, to get this built, you know, and.
Speaker AAnd get this satisfied and I can move over here next.
Speaker AIt's all strategizing what you're.
Speaker AWhat you want to do with the.
Speaker AThe factions and stuff, but I just really hope that Sony gives it time.
Speaker AI really hope they do the one
Speaker CThing that I absolutely love about Marathon compared to Arc Raiders is it doesn't take ridiculously long to get back to the level if you died.
Speaker CSo like I have all blue guns that doesn't take hours upon hours to get back to.
Speaker CMaybe two or three runs if you're lucky.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AI was worried about losing weapons and losing gear and stuff with Marathon, but I've kind of.
Speaker AI've kind of got a different mindset than if I'm playing Destiny.
Speaker ADestiny.
Speaker AIt's about collections.
Speaker AIt's about collecting stuff and getting.
Speaker AGetting loot.
Speaker ARight.
Speaker AIt's a looter shooter Marathon.
Speaker AAlmost all the guns do a lot of damage.
Speaker AThey're all pretty good.
Speaker AAnd what makes them different is just the attachments you're putting on them.
Speaker AThat's really.
Speaker AThat's really.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThe mods.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ABut like I said, as I more I play and deep dive into this game, the more I see the love and attention that Bungie put into this game that I. I just hope that everyone else can experience.
Speaker AAnd I'm coming wonder.
Speaker AI'm coming from a. I'm a Crucible player.
Speaker AI love playing Crucible.
Speaker AYou know, it's been forever since Iron Banner's been out, but I love the gear that they released last Iron Banner, the ones with the gold mask and stuff over them.
Speaker AI mean it's just beautiful art pieces.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThat's why I wanted to mention the story because I figured we'd kind of end on that note because it's so many games these days are either just thrown out there to see what sticks or they.
Speaker AThey just don't.
Speaker AAren't given a chance to do well.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker CYou can tell a game is source grouped and then a game that's made with love nowadays.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd it goes back to what makes a actual game fun to play.
Speaker AAnd I miss that.
Speaker AA lot of games just don't have that anymore.
Speaker AI don't know.
Speaker AI've been kind of disappointed with a lot of games lately.
Speaker ABut I can see the love that Bungie put into Marathon.
Speaker AIt's just.
Speaker AIs there enough people that are going to stick around long enough to play it to.
Speaker ATo realize that?
Speaker CSo the one tell that's going to tell if people are going to stick around is when the next season starts and the Bolt the vault life happens.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker AWhen you have to repeat the loop
Speaker Cthat's going to be the tell is when you.
Speaker CEveryone loses everything and has to start in square one again.
Speaker ABut here's the thing, man.
Speaker ALet's go Back to Destiny.
Speaker ALet's compare this to Destiny.
Speaker AI know it's not the same game, but it's about weapons and gear and stuff.
Speaker AWhat's the one problem that Destiny had?
Speaker AWhen a new season would come out, they had to one up everything you already had because the guns looked the same.
Speaker AThe guns were just a painted version of a previous gun that we've had before.
Speaker AThere wasn't anything new or innovative.
Speaker ABut the thing I like about.
Speaker BFor me.
Speaker AWell, I know.
Speaker ABut I was the.
Speaker AI was the.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker AIt was more.
Speaker BI think we have too many weapons.
Speaker AI know.
Speaker AIt's more about the story.
Speaker CYeah, yeah.
Speaker CI always used the new stuff and forgot about the old stuff.
Speaker BYeah, exactly.
Speaker AI was very nostalgic every time.
Speaker BThat's why I like resets and that's why I like Diablo, because it kind of forces you to.
Speaker CTo start over if you want to
Speaker Bdo the seasonal stuff Now.
Speaker BNow, Division does keep everything like Destiny, so don't worry.
Speaker BIf you play that game, even when you do the season, you'll have everything.
Speaker AHere's the thing too, about it's like Destiny.
Speaker AHere's the thing too about Marathon is I just finished the new Caloric campaign.
Speaker AYou know, you do all the priority missions and they.
Speaker AYou read all the story or it's told to you or you have a cutscene.
Speaker AIt's three different ways.
Speaker CIs wild.
Speaker AIt is, man.
Speaker AI got into the new Caloric.
Speaker AI'm like, these.
Speaker AThese people are all about making food for people.
Speaker AAnd.
Speaker AAnd they.
Speaker AThere was a really chilling entry in one of the logs where something was taking over the AI and the AI had a brain fart.
Speaker AThey didn't even know what took it over, just like some.
Speaker ASome wild entity.
Speaker AAnd I guess we're going to find out what that's going to be.
Speaker ABut I want to go back and finish all the priority campaigns with all the other.
Speaker AWith all the other corporations, because each of them.
Speaker AIt is so cool, man.
Speaker AIt's just.
Speaker AI've never played a story this way before.
Speaker AYou literally are playing a PvP PvP EV, you know, PvE and a PvP game with that risk of getting shot.
Speaker AAnd actually, as you progress through those missions, those.
Speaker AWhatever you want to call them, you're actually learning the story as you're playing and as.
Speaker AAs you have that risk.
Speaker AAnd by the way, I have not teamed up with other players, but I've used the dialogue wheel in a few things playing solo.
Speaker AAnd there's been a couple guys there.
Speaker AThere's one I was up against a guy who could.
Speaker AA recon guy.
Speaker AAnd he scanned.
Speaker AHe knew I was on the roof above him.
Speaker AAnd I just said, hey.
Speaker AI don't remember what the.
Speaker AWhat the wheel said.
Speaker AIt was something like.
Speaker BYou flipped him off.
Speaker ANo, no, no.
Speaker AHe said, he said.
Speaker AHe said.
Speaker AHe said, wanna team up?
Speaker AIt was a preloaded dialogue in the wheel.
Speaker ACause I didn't have a mic on and he didn't have a mic on either.
Speaker AAnd then I did my agree or whatever.
Speaker AAnd my character's so slick.
Speaker AHe's like.
Speaker AI suppose.
Speaker AI mean, really, the speaking voice.
Speaker AThe speaking voices of all the shells are so innovative.
Speaker AThey really are.
Speaker BAnd then you skip down the yellow brick road holding hands.
Speaker ABut we didn't do that.
Speaker AWhat we decided to do was just leave each other alone.
Speaker AI actually shot at him first.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker AAnd he dashed away.
Speaker AAnd that's when he said, hey, you want to team up or, you know, I'm.
Speaker AI need getting stuff done too.
Speaker AAnd we both understood we're there to get missions done.
Speaker AAnd we just decided just to leave each other alone.
Speaker AWe went.
Speaker AI went one direction, he went another, and we just looted in a different building.
Speaker AIt was the coolest thing.
Speaker BMinority.
Speaker AI never thought that would ever happen in this game, but it does happen.
Speaker BIt's still going to stay a minority.
Speaker AMaybe if you're.
Speaker AMaybe when you're playing solo, you have a better chance because teams, it's all just.
Speaker AIt's so frantic when you have teams.
Speaker AAnd by the way, they did Nerf back the.
Speaker AThe third party where you could hear other shots being fired and stuff.
Speaker ARemember that?
Speaker AThey.
Speaker AThey.
Speaker AThe initial patch.
Speaker AYou could hear it across the whole fricking map.
Speaker ABut now they've reduced it back.
Speaker AThat was a bad.
Speaker AThat was a bad thing they did.
Speaker ABut they did fix that, by the way.
Speaker ASo you don't hear people in other areas, you know, firing their weapons.
Speaker ANot as bad anyway.
Speaker CThey also added a duos that.
Speaker AThank you.
Speaker BI heard about that.
Speaker AThank you.
Speaker AI want to mention that because people had been asking, hey, we'd like to have a.
Speaker AYou know, I have.
Speaker AMe and my buddy want to play, but we don't want to bring in a random third person who's going to probably.
Speaker AOh, man.
Speaker AWe had a random third person in our game.
Speaker AMe and War Cry were playing Monday night.
Speaker AI know this is in the catch up segment, but the guy immediately went in there and started firing at all the UPC uec and I'm like, dude, what the hell are you doing?
Speaker AThis is a stealth game.
Speaker AAnd he dies.
Speaker AOf course, then.
Speaker AAnd War cry tries to go in and pick him up.
Speaker AHe dies.
Speaker AAnd then I'm like, I'm not gonna die for this.
Speaker ABut then I ended.
Speaker AThey end up ambushing me in the back because, I mean, it was like a big alarm bell, big dinner bell.
Speaker AEverybody come, come feast on these runners.
Speaker AAnd I'm like, see, this is the problem when you get a random third person.
Speaker CIt is only on perimeter right now, but I really hope they expand it because duos.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CIs really, really fun.
Speaker AAnd perimeter is kind of the beginner map.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BIf destiny had duos from the beginning that quickly, that would have been pretty cool.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AIt seems like they can make definitely change quicker changes on the fly, and that's a good thing.
Speaker AThey can be flexible like that.
Speaker AThey got a shot.
Speaker AThey got a shot at becoming a long term game.
Speaker AAnyway, I'll quit kissing Marathon's ass tonight.
Speaker AAll right, let's get into our catch up segment.
Speaker AI'm curious to see what everyone's been up to this week.
Speaker ABe right back.
Speaker AAll right, ladies and gentlemen, it is getting towards the end of our show tonight, but first I want to catch up and see what's been going on with everybody this week.
Speaker AAnd of course, we'll check in with Landon first, since he's our.
Speaker AOur brand new guest tonight.
Speaker ALandon, what have you been doing?
Speaker AWhat have you been playing?
Speaker AWhat's going on in your life, man?
Speaker CI have been working a lot, but I've also been playing Borderlands for getting ready for the new DLC next week.
Speaker ATell us about it.
Speaker AWhat are they.
Speaker AWhat are they bringing on that?
Speaker CIt is called Mad Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned.
Speaker COkay.
Speaker CWe are getting a new Vault Hunter.
Speaker CHis name is Cash.
Speaker CHe's kind of like a shadow voodoo man.
Speaker CHe can throw cards and roll dice.
Speaker CThat's pretty much all we know about him right now.
Speaker AOkay, that's cool.
Speaker CI got two characters to level 50.
Speaker CThey're also increasing the level from 50 to 60.
Speaker AOkay, I.
Speaker AThat's another game I got to put
Speaker Ca lot of time in, man.
Speaker ASo many games.
Speaker CAny Borderlands game I'll play.
Speaker AI mean, but that's the thing.
Speaker AIt's a one and done.
Speaker AI mean.
Speaker AYeah, it's not really.
Speaker AIs it really considered life service or is it pretty much you're just playing?
Speaker CI would say so because there is, like, when Borderlands 3 ended its cycle, there were so much content in that game.
Speaker CThere were two takedowns, which is basically a long raid to them because a raid boss to them is just a big boss with A lot of health.
Speaker CAnd they added two takedowns, a raid and Slaughter Shafts, which are basically gauntlet modes.
Speaker CAnd they're going to do the exact same thing for four.
Speaker CSo they already added a raid.
Speaker CThey're doing another raid and a takedown next month along with the dlc.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker APretty cool, man.
Speaker AAll right, good.
Speaker AI mean, I'm glad they're putting out some DLC that.
Speaker AThat game.
Speaker AI had to put it set aside because Renegades cranked back up and I got back into Destiny.
Speaker AIt's like I'm bouncing back and forth, but, man, there's so many games to play now.
Speaker AIt's a dilemma because I have such limited time.
Speaker AWhat else you been up to, man?
Speaker CThat is pretty much it.
Speaker CI started playing, obviously been playing a bunch of marathon.
Speaker CI am level 27 as of right now.
Speaker ANice.
Speaker CAnd me and my friend have just been playing duos because Duos is a lot of fun.
Speaker AI'm gonna play it.
Speaker AI definitely want to play it.
Speaker ANow that we can do duos.
Speaker AWe.
Speaker AI couldn't do it Monday night.
Speaker AThey hadn't patched it yet.
Speaker AAnd me, like I said, me and War are playing and we get this random person who didn't know what the hell they were doing, and they ended up just getting us all killed.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AAll right, cool deal, man.
Speaker AThanks for being on the show tonight, man.
Speaker AI'm glad you said yesterday.
Speaker AIt's good to talk with you.
Speaker AI cannot believe you have not been on the show before.
Speaker ABut, Mr. Kingsley Mack, what's going on in your life this week, man?
Speaker BYeah, I'm back right now.
Speaker BIt keeps cutting out on me tons.
Speaker BI don't know why, but hopefully I'll stick around.
Speaker AYou get the problem I had last week.
Speaker AIt's your turn tonight.
Speaker AYeah, fast, fast.
Speaker BBut I've been really hitting Diablo hard right now.
Speaker BThey have a smaller season before their DLC late next month, but I'm having a lot of fun with that.
Speaker BAnd I love rating.
Speaker BOf course, I do that about once a week with people.
Speaker BDivision is spending a little bit less time, but I know I'm going to hit Division hard.
Speaker BFirst of April.
Speaker BYep.
Speaker BAnd then the Diablo again hard after that.
Speaker BThat's okay that Destiny doesn't have anything until, you know, June, so.
Speaker BWell, not that they don't have anything, but stuff that I would be interested in.
Speaker ASo, yeah, I'm going to play.
Speaker AI'm going to play Guardian games as I. I play all the events every year.
Speaker AThey're a lot of fun.
Speaker AThey're.
Speaker BI've never liked the events.
Speaker BAnd that's not because of playing Destiny a lot.
Speaker BI even had that opinion in year one.
Speaker BThey were just always more boring to me compared to all the other stuff in the game.
Speaker AI get that.
Speaker AI get that.
Speaker BBut I think they're great to have.
Speaker BI'm not saying they shouldn't have them.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AAnything else?
Speaker BNo, that's basically it.
Speaker BI mean, if I'll.
Speaker BI can add in anything later, if I think about it, but I'm afraid I'll cut out here.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ARion says he's not hearing anything either through Discord.
Speaker AThat's really strange, man.
Speaker BOh, I mentioned everyone was cutting out a little.
Speaker BWell, not everyone, but, yeah, some people are cutting out.
Speaker ARion, just try to jump in and jump out, jump out and jump back in and see if that helps, because I think, Maddie, you can hear, right?
Speaker AScarlet Maddie.
Speaker BBut it keeps happening again and again, though.
Speaker BFor us.
Speaker BFor those that are having problems.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AWhat the hell was going on?
Speaker BSomething with Discord.
Speaker BInternet routing.
Speaker AI don't know what's going on with Discord right now.
Speaker AIt's having issues, that's for sure.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AFor me, we did not.
Speaker AMy wife and I did not go see a movie this week at the theaters.
Speaker AMy wife was off for spring break, and we have been.
Speaker AShe's been very busy, and I've been kind of sucked into the vortex of work to do.
Speaker AWe have been updating our master bedroom.
Speaker AWe put new cabinets and sinks and mirrors and repainted it.
Speaker AIn fact, we were up till midnight on Tuesday just trying to get it all done all the while, you know, having to go out and work and during the day to boot.
Speaker AI have to give most of the credit to her, though, because she got a lot of stun.
Speaker AShe was hanging lights, the new lights and stuff above.
Speaker AIf she's really learned, she really did a lot.
Speaker ASo I have to give her most of the credit there.
Speaker AI had to run the plumbing and put the sinks together and, you know, put all the.
Speaker AAll the.
Speaker AYou know, the drains and stuff in and all the good stuff there.
Speaker ABut she didn't want to mess with that.
Speaker AYou don't realize how nasty you are as a human being until you've cleaned out a drain in your wall.
Speaker AYou're like, that is disgusting.
Speaker AHow the hell did that grow there?
Speaker ASo that was a fun experience.
Speaker ANeedless to say, I had all my gloves on.
Speaker AHave to give a shout out to Elmer Fudd games.
Speaker APutting on what's in your wallet.
Speaker AThe arc raiders tournament last weekend.
Speaker AMy buddy, native Raider, and I Competed and we did really good.
Speaker AI think we came in second or third.
Speaker AI was impressed.
Speaker AWe banked from very.
Speaker AWe.
Speaker AWe decided to take the low risk.
Speaker AWe decided to just do the Buried City runs.
Speaker AWe went to the high loot areas at Buried City and just rinse repeated, rinse repeated, rinse repeated.
Speaker AAnd we piled up over 400000 in two hours.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker ABut congrats to one of our members technical and his teammate.
Speaker AHe cleared over a million dollars of valuables.
Speaker ANow he did the opposite.
Speaker AHe went to all.
Speaker AHe got the, the damn keys and all the special keys and went in all those higher loot areas and you know, I guess they were successful against other PvP, you know, players that were probably doing the same thing.
Speaker ABut that was very impressive.
Speaker AI mean they started slow.
Speaker AWe were in first place like the first first hour maybe and then they just came steaming ahead and it was crazy.
Speaker ABut Fudd always puts on a great tournament.
Speaker AHe had a, like a live scoreboard where he was updating everybody's.
Speaker AWe took before and after of our screens and we sent it to a special discord where he would grab them and start adding the points, adding the values to it.
Speaker AAnd man, I know he was frazzled by the end of that because he says next time I will have someone else do that because it kind of took him away from what he likes, what he does best and that's being a host of a, of a tournament.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker ABut kudos to him, man.
Speaker AI'll definitely be in the next one.
Speaker AFudd, if you're listening, I had such a great time, man.
Speaker AMaybe I'll have a little more experience in arc Raiders by the time we do it next time.
Speaker ABut yeah, we did really good.
Speaker AI was really, really, really happy I decided to play that.
Speaker AOf course because we played the tournament, we didn't have our.
Speaker AWe had to postpone our Raid team that we usually run on Saturday nights because that's when the tournament was.
Speaker ABut I think we're going to be coming back this Saturday to play, to play some.
Speaker AHopefully that will happen.
Speaker AAnother jump into another Raid and get some stuff done.
Speaker BHopefully.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker ANo, I did play a lot of marathon.
Speaker AShout out to my teammates for helping me out.
Speaker AI think Scarlet, Matty and his friend jumped in, we're doing some three player runs for me for a couple hours and I think I talked.
Speaker AI gave a shout out to you last week, Batman for helping me out on a few things and of course me and War Cry jumped in and War Cry is greener than me in marathon.
Speaker AHe's an old he's an old I only play Crucible player and he just trying to learn everything.
Speaker AI could see he was a little uncomfortable and he probably wanted the more PvP action where we were like no man, you gotta, you gotta move carefully around the maps because you're not only fighting another team, but you're fighting the PvE enemies which are no joke.
Speaker AI'm still trying to learn everything but man, this game definitely has those hooks in me.
Speaker AI'm just trying to get all those priority contracts done so I can finish the story out and then hopefully I'll be level 15, you know, level 25 by then where I can find two other people who want to jump in and try to attempt the the end game stuff.
Speaker ABut that's pretty much it for me.
Speaker AIt's been pretty simple week.
Speaker AIt's just been a real busy work work week and we've been redoing our house some stuff in our house.
Speaker ASo been a crazy week there.
Speaker ASo let's do this.
Speaker ABefore we go tonight, let's see if we have any questions from our community.
Speaker AHey Guardians, if you would like to ask us a question for the show, head over to guardiandowncast.com to send us a voicemail or email us with your question question.
Speaker AHowever, the best way to send us a question is to write it out in our podcast Questions channel in our Discord community.
Speaker AYou can access it on the Discord app on your phone or on the web.
Speaker AIt's Discord GG Forward slash Guardian Downcast.
Speaker ADon't think about it.
Speaker AJust do it.
Speaker ADo it right now.
Speaker AThe links are in our show notes Later Guardians.
Speaker AAll right ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is the last segment of our show so where we ask, you know, we we turn to you guys and see what you guys have for us question wise.
Speaker AAnd I want to turn to our our Destiny questions part of our show and Taserface 2732 had a question for us.
Speaker AWhy do you think it is that the Talk of Destiny 2 immediately turns to server shutdown work on a Destiny 3 when the numbers of players dwindle down but another MMO such as World of Warcraft would be forever eternal.
Speaker AWhat's when the name when the game hasn't hasn't been relevant in years yet there's no news about their numbers or stats.
Speaker AAlso love the show and community.
Speaker AYou guys have created peace.
Speaker AThanks Taser Face.
Speaker AAppreciate you man.
Speaker AWhat do you guys think?
Speaker AI think they are obsessing on that, aren't they?
Speaker BThe I don't think it's that simple, actually, but go ahead.
Speaker CI don't either.
Speaker CAnd he, as much as I agree with his point, he used a bad example with comparing it to wow because, like, there are way too many people that play WoW on, like, a daily basis.
Speaker CEven though, like, not many.
Speaker CNot many people, you know, play it, there's still a ton of people that play that game.
Speaker BHere's the thing.
Speaker BIt's not true that we immediately turn to talk about server shutdown when the numbers do them go down a little bit.
Speaker BNo, it's been going on for years.
Speaker BIt's not about what you look.
Speaker BThe other examples they're giving these are games that, yeah, they're low, but they're not doing this graph down.
Speaker BLike what Destiny is.
Speaker BDestiny has a graph that keeps going down, down, down, down, down.
Speaker BAnd that has much more appropriate talk for saying there might be issues than other games.
Speaker BYou know, that, sure, they're low, but they're staying low.
Speaker BAnd they may even go up, like, Division goes up some or wow goes up some at times and things like that.
Speaker BDestiny just isn't doing that.
Speaker BSo, yeah, it's a good point in general, for sure, but Destiny, I think, unfortunately, is kind of earning its reputation at least a little bit.
Speaker BAnd I know and hope it'll get better.
Speaker AI'm curious what Guardian games will do next week.
Speaker AI'll keep a close eye on it.
Speaker ABut, yeah, you're right.
Speaker AWe do obsess about the numbers on Destiny, and probably because, you know, we're worried about it, the game being shut down.
Speaker BI don't.
Speaker BYeah, I don't obsess.
Speaker BI just tell the truth.
Speaker ANow, I will say this.
Speaker AGo ahead, Landon.
Speaker CI don't think it's gonna get shut down because Destiny one is still.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker COn.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CStill going.
Speaker CAnd, like, something would have to happen really, really bad.
Speaker CGranted, it's not great right now for them to be like, all right, we gotta start turning off some servers.
Speaker CYeah, I don't.
Speaker BI mean, yeah, these conversations don't even need to be had.
Speaker BLike, they're not showing off the servers or like.
Speaker BBut like.
Speaker BBut it also can be true that Destiny's in a different situation than a game like wow or Division.
Speaker ALet me ask you guys something.
Speaker AIf Destiny, If Bungie tomorrow tweeted out, hey, guys, we're.
Speaker AWe're moving on to the next Destiny game.
Speaker AWe're going to make it.
Speaker AWe're going to make it, but we need time to make it.
Speaker ABut here's what we're going to do.
Speaker AWe're not going to really support Destiny 2 anymore.
Speaker AExcept we're going to have our events team put out the events four times a year like they do right now.
Speaker AThe Solstice, the Guardian Games, the Halloween event, and then the Christmas Dawning event.
Speaker AWould you guys be happy with that?
Speaker AAnd would you come back and play those events or would you just forget about the game altogether?
Speaker AOr should they still be supporting it?
Speaker BAnd can you hear me right now?
Speaker AYeah, we can hear you.
Speaker CYes.
Speaker BThen I'll go fast.
Speaker BYeah, I'd be happy with the news and I wouldn't really play the content because I don't love the seasonal stuff anyways.
Speaker BBut I think it'd be a smart decision and I. I would be happy with that.
Speaker CI. I wouldn't play.
Speaker CI mean, obviously I do like raids and stuff when, like we want to do raids or do a dungeon night or something.
Speaker CBut like when Festival of Lofts comes around, I get the new ornaments or the new costumes and then probably don't touch it again.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CBecause I'm the same way as Kingsley.
Speaker CThe events don't really do anything for me.
Speaker AI. I think I'm still wearing the armor ornament set from the Solstice event.
Speaker AThe Wolf.
Speaker AThe Wolf set.
Speaker AI think I'm still wearing that.
Speaker AIt's such a badass set, man.
Speaker AAnd I did what I needed to do to get it.
Speaker ANow, that being said, I didn't play the Halloween event this year because it was based on playing with other people.
Speaker AAnd I like the Lost Sectors.
Speaker AI know people didn't, but I like just something I can go in solo and grind and grind and grind to get what I need to get the rewards.
Speaker AAnd it wasn't solo friendly.
Speaker ASo I said, pat, I'll pass on it.
Speaker AFor the first time ever, I passed on the Halloween event.
Speaker AI hardly played it at all.
Speaker ABut the Solstice, the Dawning, the Guardian Games, it's.
Speaker AIt's always a lot of fun.
Speaker BIsn't Guardian games a team thing?
Speaker AIt might be.
Speaker AI'll look into it.
Speaker AI mean, I'm.
Speaker AI may just.
Speaker CI had a boss Rush mode, isn't it?
Speaker BYeah, the thing they did last year, but a new version of it, they
Speaker Asaid it just depends.
Speaker BI think you have to play in a group.
Speaker BI could be wrong.
Speaker AWe'll see about that.
Speaker ABut they usually have a firewalled version where you can jump in by yourself.
Speaker ABut the main thing is I love the ornaments and gear.
Speaker AThey put a lot of time in those and for that reason they put their time in for the content.
Speaker AI'll jump in to play it.
Speaker AAll right, Kingsley, we got one more question.
Speaker AI'm going to let you tackle that one, buddy.
Speaker BOh boy.
Speaker BAnd if I cut out, I we'll tell you.
Speaker BThis will be the worst time, but okay from dad.
Speaker BBod Hero.
Speaker BHey, the Roundtable Friends, I don't really have a question this week, but instead like to share an opinion and reflection of more recent gaming experiences.
Speaker BThere's a theory I keep coming back to when thinking about New Life Service games.
Speaker BMany of them struggle, not because the games themselves are bad, but because investors are obsessed with early metrics, launch week, player counts, engagement graphs, revenue spikes becoming measuring stick, et cetera.
Speaker BThose numbers don't explode right away.
Speaker BCompetency disappears, funding dries up, and a game can be labeled a failure before the community even has time to truly form.
Speaker BSorry, I'm going fast.
Speaker BThere's tons to this.
Speaker BSee if I can the live service games were never meant to be sprinted through like a traditional single player campaign.
Speaker BThe more like living worlds that grow and evolve over time.
Speaker BThe healthiest scenario for New Life Service game is one where players feel comfortable engaging at their own pace, exploring systems, discovery mechanics, enjoying the social aspect without feeling pressured to keep up with the fastest grinders.
Speaker BIronically, that slower and more organic pace is exactly what builds stronger communities.
Speaker BWhen players take their time, discussions last longer, strategies evolve naturally.
Speaker BNew players don't feel locked out because they join too late.
Speaker BThe experience becomes less about racing to the end game and more about being part of a shared world.
Speaker BThere's also a mental health aspect that often gets overlooked.
Speaker BThe pressure to keep up with the Joneses is finishing every battle pass, unlocking everything immediately.
Speaker BChasing every new meta can turn something meant to be fun is something that feels like a second job.
Speaker BTaking a step back and playing at your own pace removes that pressure and lets the enjoyment come back naturally.
Speaker BAlmost done here.
Speaker BI admit it that I'm late to the Destiny 2 party, but honestly that might be the best part.
Speaker BI'm thoroughly loving every single morsel of the content the game has to offer.
Speaker BInstead of rushing through it, take my time exploring everything and appreciating just how much time there is experience.
Speaker BAnd he says like you know, join the community is amazing.
Speaker BRandom fire teams and all that stuff.
Speaker BIt's about connecting with friends.
Speaker AYeah, absolutely.
Speaker BOkay, look, I get get what he's getting at.
Speaker BI don't think though it's helpful because I'm almost getting the impression like some people think like if you go through content too fast, that's bad.
Speaker BAlmost like we want a time gate and I don't think that should be true at all, especially for a life service game.
Speaker BObviously life service games are meant to be played more for people and if you don't like that, then you try a game more like a single player game.
Speaker BBut of course it's true that investors just want to find the cheapest way to do these things.
Speaker BSo it's not so much how much content, we should still have a lot of content and things come out more often.
Speaker BIt's just they're doing it in bad ways.
Speaker BLook, I mean there's two things to be a life service game that you have to have to stay healthy.
Speaker BYou do have to have new content from time to time.
Speaker BAnd so you definitely don't want to have a situation where like, oh no, it's coming out too quickly.
Speaker BLike you know the, the seasonal model once every three months.
Speaker BAnd it'd be nice to have a lot of content when a season comes out, not just a little bit of content.
Speaker CRight.
Speaker BDestiny's been having the opposite problem for year after year.
Speaker BKeep less, less, less.
Speaker BAt some point it's not going to be a live service game anymore.
Speaker BAnd then also a lot of games do this well, like Division and Diablo where they have the main story seasonal stuff that 90% of people can finish.
Speaker BEven if you're not a hardcore player, but you still want to have other stuff in there that the grinders like and there's nothing wrong with that.
Speaker BSo in Diablo you're going for the Mythics, you're going for the uniques, things like that.
Speaker BIn Division you're going for these new weapon types and stuff and you know it.
Speaker BThere are ways where you can have kind of both models where people that aren't try hards enjoy it and the other don't too.
Speaker BSo I, I, I like the point, but I just want to make sure we're not thinking like we should be having less stuff or people are playing too fast.
Speaker BIt's okay to play at whatever speed you like.
Speaker BAnd you know, if for people that have less time, they'll enjoy the story part and the people that have more time, they enjoy the super grindy part
Speaker Away England,
Speaker Cit's hard to say because like a lot of the, like what he said with the, the new live service games, a lot of them are trying to make money instead of being good, if that makes any sense.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker CWhen you look at the, the DC Live service, the Justice League, Suicide Squad 1, yep, it was, the gameplay was fun, the story was not and the End game was not.
Speaker CBut.
Speaker CAnd you can't have your gameplay.
Speaker CGameplay can be fun, but everything else can't be fun.
Speaker CThat's not.
Speaker CThat doesn't make a good game.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker CAnd that's the only live service game that I remember coming out of recent.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AThe.
Speaker AThe one thing I hate, because I'm playing several games at once now, which is unheard of for me.
Speaker AI mean, I only play Destiny used to be my motto.
Speaker AI think Marathon is doing this.
Speaker AIn fact, they've kind of learned from their.
Speaker AMaybe not.
Speaker ABut I think if I heard correctly, the seasonal track does not go away in Marathon.
Speaker ANo, you can go back and get the stuff from earlier.
Speaker ASo once you buy the seasonal track, if you're buying the $10, whatever, the enhanced season pass, whatever you want to call it.
Speaker AYeah, you buy it.
Speaker AIt's there for you whenever you have the.
Speaker AWhat's it called?
Speaker ANot Bright Dust, but the silk, which, by the way, I got a question about that.
Speaker ALandon, maybe you can help me with this.
Speaker AMatty, maybe you can help me with this.
Speaker BI want to sidetracked.
Speaker AWhy am I only getting a few 10 things of silk every now and then?
Speaker AWhat don't I get it for, like, every completion?
Speaker CIt's based on level.
Speaker CIt's based on every level.
Speaker COh, but I'm right there with you.
Speaker CIt takes forever to get silk, and I don't like it.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AThey need to do that.
Speaker ALike, per activity.
Speaker ALike, maybe if you get a.2 contracts for contracts, something.
Speaker CYeah, I'm.
Speaker CI am the same way.
Speaker CLike, I don't like.
Speaker ASo it's per level.
Speaker CEvery level, Yes.
Speaker AI don't like that.
Speaker AAll right, well, whatever.
Speaker ABecause you max out at a certain level, right?
Speaker CAnd then it reaches 140, and then 140, and then you won't.
Speaker BGo figure.
Speaker BThere's a currency thing that Todd doesn't like.
Speaker AWell, I just.
Speaker CBut this one.
Speaker ATell me how to earn it.
Speaker CMakes sense, though.
Speaker CThis actually makes sense.
Speaker AAll I want, Bungie, is just tell me how I need to earn it, and once I know that, then I'll know what I need to.
Speaker ATo.
Speaker AYeah, but I love that part.
Speaker AI think I read that when I was deciding to buy the enhanced pass or whatever for 10 bucks, I was like, you know what?
Speaker AYeah, why not?
Speaker AYou know, it throws some shekels their way.
Speaker AAnd.
Speaker AAnd the fact that they said that you never lose it, you can always come back.
Speaker AThere's no FOMO there.
Speaker AThat's what got me to buy it.
Speaker ABecause in the past, everyone's played Destiny for Any length of time.
Speaker AIf you don't spend the time in Destiny.
Speaker ALike, I. I'm a max, you know, I've maxed out the season pass this year.
Speaker AThis season, because it's been one long giant season.
Speaker AI've had plenty of time to do it.
Speaker ABut for future seasons, I may not complete it.
Speaker AAnd guess what?
Speaker AIt just goes away.
Speaker ASo then you get that fomo.
Speaker ALike, oh, my God, where did you get that.
Speaker AThat weapon ornament?
Speaker AOr where did you get that?
Speaker AWhere did you get that special exotic weapon?
Speaker AOh, I got it back in Season of the Blank.
Speaker AI'm like, well, how do I get it?
Speaker AOh, you can't get it anymore.
Speaker AThat was available in that season.
Speaker AOr armor ornaments or whatever it may be.
Speaker AThere's that FOMO there.
Speaker AAnd after a while, man, when you're playing several games at once, you just.
Speaker AYou just finally just don't care.
Speaker AYou just give up.
Speaker BAnd, yeah, it brings up a really good sub point.
Speaker BYou either have to be.
Speaker BAnd I, again, I've always been on the side of care.
Speaker BI mean, that's how I can live life happier.
Speaker BLike, if you're gonna play several games, you have to be okay with some of the fomo.
Speaker BYou just don't have time.
Speaker BAnd so I feel like people should go into another game knowing that, not getting mad about the game not giving you enough time, but knowing that you went into that knowingly that you.
Speaker BHow much time you have.
Speaker BYeah, again, I still think 90% of people should get most of the stuff, but you definitely want to have a lot of stuff that should be FOMO for 10% or less.
Speaker BThere's nothing wrong with that ratio.
Speaker AI mean, you.
Speaker AYou're paying with your time, but then when you pay money and you have to pay with your time, it's.
Speaker AIt gets.
Speaker AI don't know, it just gets up there a little bit.
Speaker AI mean, I think there should be guaranteed.
Speaker AWell, I think this.
Speaker AI like what.
Speaker AI like what.
Speaker AI know you don't, but I like what Marathon's doing here.
Speaker AThe fact that they're saying the.
Speaker AThe enhanced track, which is just like a.
Speaker AJust like a second.
Speaker AIt's half of the.
Speaker AOf each page.
Speaker AYou get this, you get the regular seasonal stuff, and then you have the enhanced stuff, and it never goes away.
Speaker ASo I love that.
Speaker BI do like that, too.
Speaker BThat is smart.
Speaker BAnd then you can still have other things.
Speaker AThink about it.
Speaker BPowerful more, though.
Speaker BLike, I love the seasonal reset idea.
Speaker AYou know, think about it.
Speaker AIf Bungie did that, you could get some kind of currency and decide which Track you want to apply it to just like you do with the silk.
Speaker AThat's a great.
Speaker AThat's a great system.
Speaker AI like the way they did that.
Speaker ABut just damn, man, I gotta make.
Speaker ALet us earn silk a little easier, My lord.
Speaker AMan.
Speaker AI think, I think Scarlett said it was 20 silk per level.
Speaker CYeah.
Speaker BAnd he said it ain't much.
Speaker AThat ain't much, man.
Speaker AAnd then they give you a cap where you can't even hoard it.
Speaker AYou have to use.
Speaker AYou get to 140, you got to use it.
Speaker ASo use it.
Speaker AOr I guess you can't get anymore.
Speaker AOf course I want to use it.
Speaker ABut what if I just want to see what's coming next season?
Speaker AI want to hang on to it.
Speaker AIt's like there is.
Speaker AThey.
Speaker AThey want to make sure that you are not attached to playing thing in season one.
Speaker BThey want to know.
Speaker BThey want to make sure you're playing.
Speaker AOh, I understand that too.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker CYep.
Speaker ABut yeah, dab out here.
Speaker AGood question, man.
Speaker AIt's a good question as usual.
Speaker AOr a good, good statement, I guess you could say.
Speaker ABut yeah, I mean he always has a lot of good insight on that.
Speaker BOh, of course.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AAnd stuff.
Speaker ASo this is the part where I get to talk to you audio listeners out there.
Speaker AHey, super secret message from me to you guys.
Speaker AThanks for listening.
Speaker AReally do appreciate it all these years.
Speaker AI always think of you guys whenever we put shows together.

Speaker ASpecial thanks to Batman Landon for hanging out with me this this week.
Speaker AIt was really good to talk with him and catch up and we've been doing some gaming together, but I cannot believe he's not been on the show.
Speaker AA little embarrassed, I gotta be honest.
Speaker ARemember, if you have an interest in being on the show.
Speaker AWe do look for people who are active in our community and by the way, if you are enjoying our community and you have friends that you think might be cool to chill and hang out with us and talk gaming, send them an invite to our Discord.
Speaker AIt's Discord GG Forward slash Guardian Down Roundtable.
Speaker AAll one word and that'll give them a special invite where they can join our Discord and we're pretty welcoming.
Speaker AOnce someone enters we usually like to say hi and thank them for joining our our community.
Speaker ASo we're pretty tight knit over here.
Speaker AI'm going to be on the Blueberry Lounge podcast this week and again I'll announce something in our Discord once they have published a show and it's out to the public.
Speaker AWanted to thank Sweaty Spooks and Native Raider for inviting me to their show.
Speaker ACan't wait to talk and catch up with those guys.
Speaker AThat'll be on Saturday I believe.
Speaker AI don't believe they live stream it so we'll probably hear it in post.

Speaker ASo for whatever game you're into these days, be sure to take breaks, hydrate and touch grass.
Speaker AChubby wizard.
Speaker AYou know this man says hello in our Discord community.
Speaker AEvery morning for over six years now.
Speaker AThe man never misses a hello in the morning.
Speaker ASo thank you, man.
Speaker AI hope all is well, brother.
Speaker AThe path to victory is long, but there's always hope.
Speaker AFight.
Speaker AThank you all so very much for listening.
Speaker AAnd whether in life or in your game.
Speaker AHey, get your reps in.
Speaker AAnd later, Guardian.
Speaker ASa.
Speaker AOvertime.
Speaker ALet's do this.
Speaker AWell, that is it, guys.
Speaker AThat is our show tonight.
Speaker AI appreciate Landon first.
Speaker AThe Batman, 2836.
Speaker AThank you for.
Speaker AThank you for saying yes, man, and coming on tonight.
Speaker AI know it was last minute.
Speaker AWe had a couple cancellations, and I was panic in panic mode.
Speaker AAnd then I looked back and I saw your name because I've been gaming with you in marathon.
Speaker AAnd I said, you know what?
Speaker AWe can have Landon on and we could have Batman on.
Speaker AI mean, then I, then I looked and saw you've never been on.
Speaker AI'm like, man, I gotta definitely ask it now.
Speaker CWe gotta do it now.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker ASo thanks again, man.
Speaker AThanks for showing up tonight.
Speaker AWe loved hearing your story.
Speaker AAs with every guest host, do you want to give a shout out to anybody before we leave tonight?
Speaker CMy beautiful wife.
Speaker ADo you want to say her name or.
Speaker AShe knows.
Speaker AShe knows who she is, right?
Speaker CYeah, she know who she is.
Speaker AI got you, man.
Speaker AGood deal.
Speaker AWell, thank you, sir, again.
Speaker AAppreciate you sharing your story with us tonight.
Speaker AKingsley, Mack, any shout outs for you before we go?
Speaker BBoy on the spot?
Speaker BI'll shout out our raid team Saturday night.
Speaker AExactly.
Speaker CRaid team, right.
Speaker CYep, Yep.
Speaker AI want to give a shout out to, to my.
Speaker AMy man, Mr.
Speaker ANative Raider, who carried my ass last week in that tournament.
Speaker AAnd I had such a good time.
Speaker AAnd he was a.
Speaker AHe gave me special backpacks where I could carry more and just he, he.
Speaker AHe busted his butt to make sure that I had the gear I needed to compete.
Speaker CThat's another thing that I love about marathon.
Speaker CIt's like you can Dr. For people and you'll get it right back at the end of the run if you survive.
Speaker AWait a minute.
Speaker AWhat?
Speaker CSo yeah, I so, like, say I have a gun, like a blue gun.
Speaker CI can drop it for you, and then if we extract, it'll come back to my vault.
Speaker AOh, it's like where you're loaning it to him?
Speaker BYep.
Speaker ADoes it count as a trace?
Speaker AProbably.
Speaker CNope.
Speaker AOkay.
Speaker AI like that.
Speaker ANice, man.
Speaker AI, I.
Speaker AYou know what I love?
Speaker AI love the fact that because you can, you can, you know, once the countdown goes down, you turn into a duffel bag.
Speaker AAnd if your teammate is still alive, he can come back after everyone's looted you and everything and actually get you back up, if one of your team members stays alive, I think that's a good mechanic as well.
Speaker ABut what they're saying to do is if you don't.
Speaker AIf you have too much loot, empty everything out of your loot, Grab all of their loot and go hide it in the map.
Speaker AThat is so funny, man, that.
Speaker AI heard you.
Speaker AI heard someone tell me to do that.
Speaker AI thought that was hilarious.
Speaker ASo you gotta.
Speaker ASo they end up, you know, like, naked as soon as they get revived, which is kind of cool.
Speaker ABut I like the fact that, you know, his buddy could loan him a gun to get through just to get the hell out of there, and the gun will come back to him.
Speaker AThat's really good, man.
Speaker AThat makes people want to share.
Speaker AI like that.
Speaker AWell, thank you, everyone, for joining us tonight.
Speaker AWhether you're on our YouTube channel or twitch channel or here in our discord shout out to you.
Speaker ARion.
Speaker AI know he's across the pond right now.
Speaker AHe's five hours into the future.
Speaker AHow's the future?
Speaker ADoes it look bright?
Speaker AAnd remember, as in life or in your game, get your reps in.
Speaker AAnd later, guardian.
Speaker BHave a good one,
Speaker ASam.
Speaker ASo remember, as you're playing your games, hydrate.
Speaker AWait, what's the saying?
Speaker CHydrate?
Speaker CDon't hydrate.
Speaker ANo.
Speaker ARemember as in life.
Speaker ARemember, as in life.
Speaker AWe're in your game.
Speaker AGet your reps in later, guardian.
Speaker AOh, my God.
Speaker AHow did I forget?
Speaker BWe wait and we hydrate.
Speaker AHow did I forget that?
Speaker AGeez Louise, man.
Speaker AThat's what happens.
Speaker AThat's what happens, old man brain.
