I remember a while ago you had someone on and I was chatting with them and we were talking about a movie theater.

So currently I'm an operations manager for a construction company.

I just, I just mainly handle all of the, you know, I set into appointments, I find out what, you know, I seek out new clients and I find out what they need.

It's kind of like a handyman type type of thing.

We also have several apartment complexes, low income apartment complexes and townhomes in Virginia Beach.

It's all remote.

Occasionally, occasionally I have to go down there and chase after invoices.

But.

But for the most part, you know, it's just me, you know, just on the phone and sending out emails.

I also, I also am.

I'm a booking agent for a, for, for a DJ agency or artist agency.

I have several artists that sometimes they, you know, have them on tour and playing all over America and things like that.

That's very cool, man.

So you.

Are you personally a DJ or do you just do the booking for DJs?

Yes, I've been DJing.

Next year will be my 31st year.

I started out as a kid.

Well, hey, are you married?

Do you have any kids?

Yeah, I'm married.

We've been married for 13.

This is our 13th year married and 20th year together.

Yeah, but at a very, at a very, like, really early into the relationship, we decided, hey, you know, we like spending money on each other.

Let's just not have kids.

I mean, heck yeah, man, you just.

Saved a ton of money.

Well, I will say, though, so we later on, once we moved to West Virginia, we got involved with animal like dog rescue and fostering.

So at one point, up until about two weeks ago, we had six dogs.

We're now down to five.

She had five babies.

Oh, yeah, we have four babies.

So those are our kids.

I don't know if I could live without a dog.

I had two older dogs and I only have one now.

I lost one.

I'm not going to replace her until the other one passes because they basically grew up together and I would not want to bring a new dog in with a dog that's been here forever.

She's like 11 and a half.

So she's getting up there.

I think she's got maybe two or three more years left and then we'll, we'll just buy another pair because we're gone all day and we just have always found that having a pair of dogs always is better.

They keep each other company, they play, hopefully they don't fight.

We've come home a couple times, there's blood on the floor.

I'm like, oh, what the heck happened here?

So, no, I want, you know, they get in a little tussle or something in the kitchen and, you know, once dogs walk on, man, it's hard to separate them.

Of course.

Yeah.

And it's the first time, like ever they've ever fought.

But there was a point when my, my dominant alpha dog, she was a black lab rottweiler mix, if you can imagine that.

Think of a black lab but with muscles.

And she, she was getting older and weaker and the other one sensed it.

And I guess that's just mother Nature, man.

It's just where the world works.

She started challenging her and there was a, there was a stand down.

So what is your, what is your earliest moment?

Gaming, man.

Did you start gaming back?

I mean, I'm guessing you're probably pretty close to my age if you're talking 31 years and what you've.

Because I've been.

I've been doing my job for over 31 years, too.

When was your first video game?

When did you first get into video Games?

So I'm 47.

My first.

My first gaming system, I had a Commodore 64.

I had the Commodore 64 before I got the Nintendo.

So was it.

Pitfall was probably the earliest game that I can remember, so that was Pitfall.

My wife loves that game.

She played it so much when she was little.

Dude, 31 years DJing, that means you were, like, super young man, man.

Yeah, I was about.

I was about 15 and.

And, yeah, you know, I just got into it at a very, very, very young age.

Music's always been in my life.

You know, growing up, my parents, they constantly listened to music.

So this has always been part of my life.

What kind of music did your parents listen to?

Back then, it was a lot of jazz, and my mom's from Puerto Rico, so a lot of salsa and, like, you know, different.

Different types of, you know, like Hispanic.

Hispanic music.

Yeah, that's where I grew up with.

And yeah, dude, that's a rich background of music, that's for sure.

Like I said, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears.

I was as vanilla as it comes, man.

But there's nothing wrong with that, though.

Synthesizers, when they came.

When synthesizers came in the 80s, it was over for me.

So how did you find this game we all love called Destiny?

I was a Halo player, and I.

So I got bored with it a little bit, and then I started seeing commercials.

I'm like, this looks cool.

This looks really cool.

Do you have a favorite moment from your Destiny pass that you pull up right away.

Completing Wrath of the Machine for the first time.

Oh, boy.

I'm not arguing.

I think Wrath of the Machine is probably one of my top five raids ever.

It was a fantastic raid.

And it was.

It was not easy trying to put that.

Trying to put the.

That machine together on the bridge.

It seemed like I was walking in cement the whole time.

It's like I never had enough time.

They only gave you just amount enough time just to get it done.

And if you dropped it or got stopped, you know, if the people were killing ads weren't doing their job and you got interrupted by ads or something, it was.

It was a wipe.

Couldn't do it.

Yeah.

It was just to get good jumping puzzle.

You had to go on that little beam.

And if you couldn't do that good, that's why you're slow.

Yeah, I'm sure.

I. I always struggled.

Well, not me, but like, I've always was paired with people that struggled with that one room where you have to go in and then come back out.

Like, so there's.

I think there was like maybe three or four different rooms that you had to go into.

And like everybody was out there with white.

Yeah, like, right.

Oh, oh, the warehouse where you had to.

You all had to get in there.

So you didn't get fire.

What is.

It was ignited.

I think it was like an ignition or something.

Yeah.

A normal white mechanic.

Yeah.

You gotta have safety.

I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

And I remember on that last encounter, I would always forget to shoot my damn servitor.

Who missed their servitor?

I'm like, miss my servitor?

I forgot I was looking right at it.

But I was hyper focusing on these shanks coming at me.

I forgot to shoot it.

So I'm sorry.

Then when the room gets quiet, you're like, I'm about to be kicked.

People are about had enough of my shenanigans anyway, man.

Destiny 1.

So many good.

So many good memories in Destiny 1, that's for sure.

Are you a Titan hunter or Warlock Main?

Yes.

I was gonna say, you may be Judged, but go ahead.

I mean, if you were to.

Which do you have the most time on?

I guess so it switches.

I usually.

So for a while, up until Witch Queen, I started out with the Warlock and then I would go to Titan and then finish in Hunter.

But I decided to run with my Titan for a while, up until playing Gambit, I invaded and I. I'll never forget this.

So I invaded and I automatically like started my thunder crash.

Someone froze me.

Like, like so all of them.

All, all four of them.

Like right there they are right there.

If they froze me midair and killed me, I turned off.

I turned off my Xbox.

I was like, that's it.

That's.

You were probably relating to my older shows where I called it the F and I show.

I hated that damn subclass, man.

Especially in Crucible, you'd run up, you'd have the shot on them and they'd freeze you and they just walk right up to you and knock you out.

Yeah, that's funny, man.

There's a memory, there's a memory to remember.

But Hunter.

Hunter was my main for a while.

You know.

If you have not played all three characters, you have really not fully played this game because there are so many cool things with each character.

I mean, I've played all the.

I played them all, I played all the supers, I've done everything.

But I always just keep coming back to Warlock.

I don't know why.

Maybe it's just.

That's just the one I've gotten most accustomed to.

Build wise.

I've definitely more plentiful builds in it than with my other two characters.

But man, I cannot beat the movement of Titans.

You feel like you're just flying through the air, crashing into anything when you're a Titan up until the string gets pulled on your back.

When you're.

When you're, you know, you're.

You go out there to jump and all of a sudden drop like a rock.

That's what I always call it the.

The little string, like the little toy, you know, where you pull the string in the back of the doll.

It's always like the string stops.

That's what I always think of when I.

When I don't quite make my jump on Titan.

I gotta see how far back you go.

In gaming, did you ever stand in a physical line on a midnight release?

Yes, yes, we did actually.

It's funny too because I was looking at my Facebook memories recently and it was for GTA 5.

Most of my friends did that's the one I did not do.

Okay, I totally get that.

I totally get that.

Now, are there any gaming rituals from your past, like I've mentioned in past shows that, like blowing into the cartridges or.

I'd love to look through the manuals, the game manuals that used to come in the CDs, but now it's just a sheet of paper if you're lucky.

But if there were any gaming rituals that you remember when you.

When you gamed back in the day.

Yeah, it was definitely, you know, blowing.

Blowing into a cartridge.

I used to also, like, if I played, if I had a game in, you know, in the NES for a while, I take it out, get the Q tip, rubbing alcohol, put it back in.

I tried that too.

It didn't always work, but whatever.

Whatever made those consoles not work.

I'm still perplexed.

You know, it's just really weird.

Sometimes you would blow on it and it'd work perfectly, and sometimes you'd throw it in there a million times and it would never boot up.

Just so weird.

Yeah.

Yeah, exactly.

No, no, I really want to know why they didn't play sometimes.

And when you blew on it, it all sudden worked.

Maybe there's something called dust on it.

He's using alcohol rubs on it.

I remember doing the alcohol on the.

There's a cartridge that has a little terminal.

And then guess what?

There's another little terminal inside the box.

So, yeah, the easy mode people thought was the dust was only on the cartridge that you blow on.

That's what I did.

And probably most of the time that's true.

But there could get dust inside, too.

So there's multiple ways to deal with it.

So sometimes people would just blow on it, pop it in, it would catch some more of the dust, they'd pull it away, blow on it again.

Gotcha.

Or you could use alcohol to clean it.

You could, like, blow air inside of it.

But most people didn't have, like, those air cans back then, so.

Yeah, it's just simple, simple physics.

Only 40 years later, I finally realized that I forgot that there's dust in the stupid contacts in the machine.

My dad was busy working.

He didn't.

He couldn't show me how to do that.

I can't believe I just now realized that.

Have you ever reached a point in a new game where you think that graphics will never get better than this?

As we get older, what is it about gaming?

Has gaming changed as far as what you look into, what you enjoy in a game?

I mean, is it more about competition or challenge?

But, you know, things were different when we were 15 playing a video game.

Has what you got out of games when you were 15, has that changed?

I mean, to me, gaming, because I think I remember you guys had an episode about it, but like, I, like it was one of the topics.

But gaming to me has always been an escape.

It's just, you know, like, if I had a rough day or just a stressful week or whatever, it's just like, all right, I, I need, I just need to just hop in here and, you know, do a mission.

Like what.

Whether it's like Destiny or Starfield or even right now, like, I'm, I'm, I'm hooked to cyberpunk again.

No, no, it is a good game.

It is a good game.

But, but it's just, it's just an escape, really.

I got, you know, I, I, I play games where I like the story on, you know.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Let's get into some signature questions here.

Is there, other than what we've already talked about behind you there, is there an interest or a hobby, you know, that you enjoy that maybe people would say, be very surprised that you have a hobby of doing.

Yes, actually.

So last year, we recently renovated, I think.

Was it last year or the year before?

I forget, you know, what is time?

Anyways, we recently had our, we recently had our kitchen renovated.

And ever since then I told myself that, okay, I have the, I have the kitchen I want.

I'm going to start cooking more.

So.

And I have, yeah, I have.

And I've become actually pretty anal about my ingredients.

I make my own butter.

I make my own cottage cheese.

I make my own peanut butter.

I recently have been making my own bread.

I, I've started, I'm on the whole sourdough trend right now.

I've been, I made my own, my own starter about.

She, she is about a month and a half.

I named her Audrey too, from Little Shop of Ours.

I love it because I'm always feeding, I'm always feeding her, you know?

Exactly.

That's true.

Oh, my God.

Yeah.

So, yeah, I actually made like about two hours ago, I made a focaccia.

Sourdough focaccia.

It was, it was amazing.

It was amazing.

But yeah, I'm really big into baking.

I bake a lot of.

Yeah, I don't even, we don't even go to the store to buy, to, to buy, to buy bread anymore.

I make it.

How do.

Now you gotta explain to me, how do you make your own butter?

Are you like Churning butter.

It's.

It's so simple.

So really.

So the reason why.

The reason why it's so easy for me.

I have one of those big KitchenAid mixers.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So.

So.

So all you do.

So.

And what I've been doing, I've been making French butter.

So you get, like, about a gallon of heavy cream, okay.

And you pour it into.

Into a bowl to make French butter.

It's six tablespoons of this whole.

Whole milk yogurt.

Okay.

You just mix it up, you cover it up.

You leave it sitting out for 48 hours.

After 48 hours, you put it into the KitchenAid.

You whip out all the fat.

All the fat is butter.

You just squeeze all the buttermilk out of it.

So it's all about the fermentation.

All about the fermentation.

And I use that buttermilk to make cottage cheese.

Nice.

And I use.

And when I make.

When I make the cottage cheese, you know, when you're boiling the.

Well, slowly simmering the buttermilk, it turns into cottage cheese.

The liquid that's left over is whey.

I can use that in protein.

Holy crap.

I could use that for both times.

I was just reading about that, how the price of whey has just gotten crazy.

And they were talking about, well, they can't make more whey because it's a byproduct of making cheese.

And if they're not making more cheese and they're not going to make more whey, that's why they say curds and whey.

You're.

You're taking the curds for your cottage cheese, and the whey is going into pro set, dude.

So you powderize the whey.

You dried out and powderize it, or do you just put it in a bottle?

I'm.

I'm still learning how to do that.

Both my wife and I, we spend a lot of money on protein every month or so.

So I did go to culinary school.

Everything else I learned as far as, like, the sourdough and stuff like that, I Learned from either YouTube or TikTok.

I didn't know that that was one thing I didn't know about you.

So that's why I was asking you.

And then several years back, one of the people I work with, they heard me, like I think I was sick.

I'm like, that is a hostile name.

I know it's a little deep.

I mean, honestly, with just, with, you know, as far as everything that I've gone through because I've.

I've had multiple careers, multiple professions.

I mean, we can.

I've been working.

I've had a job since I was 16, so I've had multiple professions.

It's just.

All right, Kingsley Mac with some new information on AI right after this.

Hello out there.

This is Ally Kate, and you're listening to the Guardian in Down Round Table.

All right, first we're going to do.

Before we get into our topic of the week, we're going to turn to Kingsley Mac.

He's got some updates in the AI realm.

Since he's in tech all the time, I figured, let's hear about it.

Let's see what he has to say.

What do you got for us tonight, Mike?

This was all started happening over kind of over the weekend and then through Monday and pretty new stuff.

We've heard little small things about this in the past, but it kind of came to a head this last weekend.

And don't worry, I'm going to talk about all sides of it and kind of like we can make our speculations of what it actually means or whatever, but all AI leaders all want to hit the brakes after years of reckless speed.

Now, I first heard about the guy who runs Claude say this, and his name is Dario Amode.

And I think it's how you pronounce his last name, but I'll just go by Dario.

But I didn't realize that other people would be on board.

So all of a sudden when I started hearing, like, like, oh, yeah, like OpenAI, like, Sam Altman also agrees.

Okay, that's odd.

Okay.

Google's CEO agrees.

Okay.

Even freaking Musk agrees.

Elon Musk, where he's been, like, the one that's kind of like, in the past been like the.

The fastest, like, yeah, like, let's go whole hog, like, boom, boom, boom.

All this stuff, you know.

So like, what the hell's going on here?

Well, I found an article that kind of.

I really like this website called Ars Technica.

It's kind of like a technical website and they talk topics and stuff and kind of get information on this.

And so basically was saying like, how for years now, all the, you know, all the major Frontier A labs, AI labs have been acting like they're in an all out, winner takes all race, you know, with.

With control of world changing machine superintelligence at the finish line.

But this weekend, all of a sudden, the industry as a whole rapidly started turning away from that posture, urging coordination on slowing down the development of Frontier AI that they say could soon be too dangerous and unknowable to control.

Well, what does that mean?

Right.

Well, it started with Anthropic Sidario.

He came out with a 4,000 word essay over the weekend.

He said that we must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models to avoid, this is his words, a race to the bottom spurred by commercial incentives that can make catastrophic risks more acute.

And then within hours of that.

This is the part that I missed.

At first I'm like, okay, well, yeah, he can say that.

But I'm sure the other company's like, yeah, they want to slow down, so we're ahead.

But then it was so odd.

It's like, did they have like a little secret meeting behind the scenes where they were all on the same page ahead of time or something?

Like, seriously, like everyone.

Some outman.

OpenAI a Google leader Microsoft actually said too.

Satya Nadellis posted they welcome the slowdown with research focus on deliberate pacing needed to get alignment right as the design goal.

Everyone, even Elon Musk, who he just had a simple.

He just had a simple response approving the message.

Dario is right.

So like, everyone's like agreeing all of a sudden.

So what, what does it mean?

What does this really mean?

Because I'm sure people who've heard some of this might think like, well, does it mean like, oh, no, like AI Terminator taking over the world?

No, that's not necessarily what these people are saying.

Actually, when you read into it, there are still big concerns, but it's not the concern of total AGI intelligence, of terminators taking over the world.

Although that could in theory happen.

I'm a little skeptical that ever would also.

But we can talk about that later.

But basically it kind of started.

I don't know if you've heard about this thing.

There was an open AI incident called Hugging Face, which was like a swarm of AI agents on their own.

On their own, coordinated to hack into an outside entity without explicit instructions to do so.

So that's a little concerning.

Right.

That overall damage was minimal.

Dario says that he worries that a swarm that possessed greater capabilities but a similar level of misalignment could have caused catastrophic damage.

He predicts right now that within six to 12 months.

This is just around the corner.

Yeah.

Six to 12 months, a similar AI agent swarm could be capable of taking over the entire Internet again.

This isn't like Terminators in the street taking over humanity, but taking over the Internet still.

Right.

And could be capable of producing a persistent botnet on the whole Internet.

So that's his prediction at least.

This is a little more specific than just saying, oh, AI is going to take over the world.

He, he gave a more specific.

We'll see if that's right or not.

If things don't slow down in 612 months because this is an actual thing we can actually look at.

But because he's worried about this.

Again, that's their reason.

That's what they're claiming, their reason that they want to have this slowdown.

So what does a slowdown look like?

Right.

What does that mean?

Well, they actually want to have a two part thing where the companies themselves have inside people that get hired that aren't hired by the company, but like independent researchers that come in and do safety measures all the time.

They also want to create regulation.

Now, you know, that can be the dirty word for a lot of people, but they want to create regulation that someone agrees to, like the government or something like that, even if the government doesn't.

They kind of want to have their own standards board across their own companies, so that if another AI up and coming AI company, because see, all these big ones are supposedly on board right now, but if another, a small up and coming one comes up, that they would basically have to follow by those same rules of having safety standards and things, or else they'd get blacklisted or something like that.

Blacklisted would be like if there's no regulation or if there was actual government regulation, you know, it could be bigger.

Of course, if there's actual regulation now, regulation can be a hard thing to do, especially with if government doesn't want to do that or whatever.

So who knows if that'll happen.

But it sounds like either way, even if there's not government regulation, that comes the big AI companies.

So Far are kind of seeming like they're starting to, quote, work together and come up with these industry standards that they may want to do to, to kind of stop some of this now.

Okay, so you could say like, oh, wow.

So like all of a sudden, you know, everyone's just like being altruistic.

They're, they're caring because, you know, usually it's very common for businesses, money is the bottom line.

So it's like, why are they caring all of a sudden?

I think there's two most likely things here, and I think the second one's actually, there's three different possibilities, but they're claiming the first one, which is something spooked them.

Right.

Something is like not even like they saw some bad code, but they think like the capabilities can be there within six to 12 months.

If it's not controls in place, we could have billions of dollars.

It's not like we couldn't fix things, but we could have billions and trillions of dollars of damage if the whole Internet gets shut down for a bit.

Right.

Because AI botnet and things like that, and that'd be very hard to overcome because obviously the AI botnets 6 to 12 months now are gonna be even more advanced.

So do we have controls in place again?

That's why they wanna start building these controls ahead of time.

Almost like protection, you know, checks and balances.

Right, right.

But here's, here's some other skeptical point of views of what could be going.

Another thing that people think that's pretty common is some research are speculating that all the AI companies are starting to hit a plateau.

You know, even though they keep saying the models are getting better and better and better, some people are thinking and claiming, like they actually are kind of getting to a point where they can't get much better.

They're kind of hitting a plateau.

So it's kind of like AI will get to a state in another year where it's really good, but like, it can't do anything fancier.

And then we'll just have to wait for the next technology that comes around 10, 20 years from now or something like that.

So if they kind of are realizing this, well, of course they may want to get all on board together, hold hands together and be like, if they kind of know they're getting close to this plateau, why not create some industry standards and some plateaus?

Because then they'll all kind of be on the same even playing field.

Right?

Yeah.

Another big possibility is a lot of these companies have not gone public yet and they are Hemorrhaging money.

No one's been making money, right?

No, they're not.

And I think the writing is finally starting to come on the wall of like, yeah, maybe the bubble is about to pop here.

Some, maybe they're seeing, like, you know, we've been doing this for several years now, and yes, people are buying it, but not enough people to, like, make money.

And things are going to start plateauing here anyways.

And the third reason was because of monetary reasons.

Like, we all kind of know, like, they haven't been making money.

Right, Right.

They have like billions and billions in, like, research and development, but they haven't been making money to actually make a profit yet.

Like, OpenAI pushed back their IPO another year.

And a lot of people are thinking this could be another reason why they're all on board to have this, quote, slowdown, because they all know that they can't make enough money to show the investors it's going any higher anyways.

Right, Right.

So that could be the other skeptical reason of why they all want to slow down all of a sudden.

I got you.

I got you.

So, so that's all, that's all interesting.

Right.

But then there is, there is some concern from some that, you know, this should never be slowing down.

Go unlimited speed because we have to win a race.

Right.

And then you have something called the China problem.

Right.

Now here, here's the thing with the China problem.

Look, there's a graph.

I'll see if I can post it in the discord or whatever.

But China's models have always been behind the United States and they still are as of right now.

I mean, they kind of go a lock step with kind of capabilities and stuff like that.

And I don't know why people are so just concerned about China only because I'm sure other countries are working on things too.

But that being said, of course we should all be working towards, you know, technology and, and, and defense and everything like that, which I actually don't think AI has as much with defense as people think it does or as much as people as it should.

I think there's certain things that are run way better with human interaction than AI interaction.

Right.

But.

And I'm a. I like AI.

But so the thing about.

I, I don't know if I can get that graph in the discord.

But anyways, okay, it shows that they're generally about three months to a year behind, just kind of depending on the situation.

That's what the Chinese are.

So.

Yeah, but like, but what does that mean?

Does that mean, like, if some other country is always ahead, then they get to control the world?

We don't know, because right now the US is ahead on that for sure.

But the US was also ahead when it created the Internet back in the day.

And, and yeah, we do have a big economy and everything, but the Internet tended to work out fine everywhere in the world.

Right, right.

So, so a lot of people say, like, it should not be slowing down no matter what, because we need to have things like that.

I, I do have.

I think there's a pretty easy answer to this actually, because, because, yeah, the, the other concern is like, let's say even all the US companies come to an agreement of this slowdown so that they have safety measures in place.

But what if China doesn't or other countries don't?

Well, it's pretty easy actually.

You, even though you're slowing down, putting safety measures internally here so that we don't have AI creating their own botnets, you're still creating.

You have, what you're doing is you're slowing down with the slowdown is not so much of a word of like not researching and finding new stuff.

It just means you're not.

A lot of these models are even training themselves.

You're just not letting it run wild.

You're not, you're putting the safety measures in place.

And one other thing you can do to help solve with the China problem or other countries is always create the best defensive system on the earth.

Right.

That's what we already want to have with military.

Right.

Defense is always better than offense, in my opinion.

You know, like everything like that.

So you can still create AI that has the best defense.

So even if China or another country is not letting safety standards in and they create some bad botnet, well, I'm sure in theory we could have protections that stops the botnet on the edges of the DNS servers.

Only affect China, basically.

Yeah.

Or other countries in the world because.

They have their own Internet.

So.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Now I know that's easier said than done.

And I'm sure some technical people out there, and I'm pretty.

A pretty technical guy, but I'm telling you, people like you, when you have something called black hat hackers and white hat hackers.

Right.

And we want to have AI be the white hat hackers.

I know it's kind of an old term, I don't love it, but like, you know, it's, it's a, it's a thing where like you have the bad guys.

When you see like an 80s movie.

Like the, the bad guys that are doing spy stuff, they're, they're kind of like the, the hackers that are trying to like, steal things, right?

And then you have the other guys that are kind of like protecting or hacking the hackers.

You understand, the system testing systems to prevent others from.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

So, so, you know, just have, have, have really good defensive systems in place is what I say solves the China problem and other things like that.

I do think because of, I'll just give my little commentary here, but I'm curious what you guys think too.

I do think it's a good idea to have this slow down for multiple reasons.

I mean, again, I've mentioned multiple times on the show how I'm kind of pissed on, like it's been grabbing up all the resources with chips and memory and stuff like that.

And there's been some discussions from previous episodes and shows, and we can't build the factories fast enough to fix that supply and demand side.

So now our only hope is if the bubble pops a little bit, then that'll actually kind of slow down the demand.

Actually, now it's, now it's looking like that might happen because if they're wanting to slow some things down and we kind of.

How many, let's put it this way too.

How many businesses and people that haven't bought into AI will buy into it within the next year?

I'm sure there's still a good amount, but I bet we're kind of starting to reach that plateau also.

And again, that's kind of why they're, you know, looking at all these things ahead of time.

So that's that.

But also it's kind of like you have the analogy of like, yeah, you can build a train that's faster and faster and faster and faster, but at some point, wouldn't you want to have a train that's just a little bit slower?

Slower and safer?

You know, I, I, I don't want to necessarily get on the train that goes 2,000 miles per hour, but if I'll get on the train that goes 300 miles per hour, that's been tested and safe, you know, so.

Right.

So I, I think it's prudent to, to have protection and controls in place.

But yeah.

What do you guys think?

I know this is a longer topic.

Do you, do you have like an indication or you're like, oh, they really are scared, or it's a money reason, or do you think it's something else or.

Any comments on the above well, me.

Personally, so, you know, and I'm, I'm very iffy about AI.

You know, there's even AI and music stuff.

You know, there's like with some of, some of the labels I work with, they have things in place that can, like when people are submitting music, they can, they can.

They have a program that could tell if, if they actually made it or, or if AI made it.

Anyways, that being said, you know, I've.

I have a few friends that are executive level for different corporations and they flat out told me we invested all this money into AI and we have yet to see any return.

They're just not happy with the millions that they have invested.

So I think maybe it's a little bit of both where they, where maybe.

Maybe you know, all the guys, you know, head of OpenAI and Anthropic and Grok or whatever, maybe they are seeing that, you know, that they're losing money, that they could also some.

Something also real, you know, something really scary could be on the horizon.

Who knows?

But I don't know me personally, like, I'm, I'm kind of, I'm kind of.

I, I am kind of anti AI, but at the same time it's, it's, it is going to be the inevitable.

It is.

Yeah.

But it also doesn't have to be the inevitable in the arts, right?

Like you said, like, I think we all kind of agree, you know, like more people think it's okay in like coding, rewriting your writing if people know you're doing that.

But like people start drawing the line more, right?

When it's like art, music, stuff like that visual, right?

Yeah.

Yeah.

And, and you know, I mean, yeah, with, with the art stuff.

I mean there's even people make a AI advertisement restaurant.

There are people like what the hell?

Like this is, this is.

I'm never eating there.

I'm never supporting your business.

You know, I see that like all the time.

But it, you know what, what you, what you mentioned, you know, as far as like, you know, a, like there's a possibility that AI can, you know, one day like have.

Have their own type of botnet.

Like, you know, it's kind of reminds me of like, you know, cyberpunk where, where, like where a corporation had to create the black wall to keep out all the guys.

So you know, it's, it would be pretty amazing if something like that actually happened where.

I mean, I mean it would be terrible at the same time, but I mean, who knows.

But that's all really.

I have to on that, you know, it's, it is, you know, it is something to really think of this as far as like, what, what's really going on?

You know, I'm not trying to say.

Do you have any conspiracy theories, Todd, of what's really going on?

I just had a couple questions.

I didn't have a whole lot to add to this because I've been following this as well.

The, the three, the, the big three in America, you know, going and wanting some kind of regulation, which Big five, actually.

Yeah, Microsoft.

My butt puckered up a little bit when I heard about that.

I was like, they're going and they want to be, it's like, it's like, please save us.

And what, what the hell's the government know other than they can put a law in place?

But if they're all in agreement anyway, they don't need legislation, just have a, have it a tacit agreement between companies.

But here's my question.

Has China commented at all about any of this, this development?

Yes, they actually have.

Yeah, it wasn't that interesting.

Of course.

They did say, they did said something pretty like similar like, oh, that's fear mongering.

So.

Okay.

Yeah.

So, yeah, I mean, here's the thing.

The AI companies and, and the high tech companies like Nvidia and stuff, they basically have been propping up the stock market for probably years now because they're buying from each other.

They're, they're, they've contracted to buy the chips from Nvidia and Nvidia promises to, you know, use their products.

It's like a, it's like a perpetual human centipede.

You know, sorry about that image.

But you know, they're, they're basically feeding themselves.

It's, it's just like a, it's like a fake front.

They're not making any money.

They're propping each other's stock price up because they're, they've come to an agreement that, you know, you sell us your chips, we'll, you know, we'll buy your chips, you or your processors or whatever, and we will, you, you promise to use our, you know, our services exclusively.

And my biggest, I think one of the reasons they might be coming, I might be buying.

I don't know, man.

There's been so many, so many opinions on AI and I'm honestly a little, I'm trying not to be fearful of change.

But a botnet, that scares the hell out of me.

I don't, I mean, not losing all our Internet and being controlled by bots that we don't even know how to hack back in because the bots are smart enough to know to keep people from getting in.

My, my thing might be if that's not the case and well, to be fearful, I'm thinking they're trying to legitimize the industry by creating some kind of regulation around it that, because when the, when the, when the government, US Government regulates this industry, it's going to legitimize it, it's going to put it out there that it is a business worth regulating versus because you know, I'm paying my 20 bucks a month to, to, to Gemini, but I know that's not gonna last forever and I know eventually the price is gonna have to go up because they just, with all the information, just from one query, how much I would love to see how much energy I'm using just from one query.

You know, on Gemini's end, on Google's end, how many servers am I using?

Well, I'll tell you, I do want to talk about the government thing real quick and without getting political or anything.

It's really interesting.

Cause even people on, on if like in the current administration there's people in the same political party that have different opinions.

I know this, I heard there was another sub news article that there are multiple advisors trying to talk other people in the government to go with this plan because they're, they want it too.

And these are actually people that would maybe normally not want to have regulation.

Okay.

So it's very, very interesting what's going on right now.

And there's a couple of course people at the very top that are very like, oh it's fear mongering.

But then there's a lot of people right, right below, just barely below like let's come up with a plan, you know.

And so it's going to be really interesting to see what happens.

China's always been good about finding, you know, we invent the product, they make a better or cheaper and it's kind of like, it's kind of like our product but not, I mean, my God, how many Chinese products have we bought that that look just like they were made in the United States, but they're a lot cheaper.

I mean that's probably what powers half of Amazon right now with all the Chinese influx of products that they sell.

But like I said, my, my biggest thing is if we put a bottleneck or regulate how much faster AI can grow, if we're using the model that the Chinese are basically copying our tech, then it will kind of Put a bottleneck on what they can do as well.

If that is, if we're regulating it, that is, then, you know, that's what we're doing.

That could be true because I did forget to mention that point.

Yeah.

Like I said, one way to protect against the China problem is to have good, you know, defensive protections.

But another thing that this article did mention, sorry, it's very long and I didn't want to read everywhere but was that China really has been copying our models.

There are ways to kind of reverse engineer and figure things out.

And so so far is what we know, it's been a, basically a receding copy for the most part.

Yeah.

So also, also companies like Nvidia could deny selling them chips too.

There, there's other ways.

You know, some chips do come from the US Even though Nvidia is, that.

Could put a, that could put a cap on also in the U.S. so,.

Yeah, so there, there's, there's ways to do it.

I, again, I don't, I, I think like, if I'm playing the odds, I'm still a little skeptical about total AGI dominance, Terminators taken over the street.

It could happen.

But I am more possibility thinking like, yeah, we could have like a botnet.

And I don't think it would be a situation where we never get control of the Internet again, but it could be a long time and very, very, very expensive and like wreck full economies, like.

And that's bad enough, right?

Yeah.

And so, you know, why not try to be a little bit safe?

And even if we don't get government regulation, I think it's fine if the companies are all on board.

Look, it's going to happen anyways.

They'll start developing their own standards and then maybe, or maybe not, there'll be government regulation.

We'll see.

I mean, maybe, maybe not.

We need it or not.

But, but it's really, really interesting how just all of a sudden this is kind of coming to be and is it because they're scared or is it just because they finally got on board?

It's a little bit of both.

Even, you know, money and, and being scared.

I think maybe they realize that there's room for all of them in this, in this business because it's like, it's like the top three automakers in the, in America, Ford, Chrysler and gm, they all coexist and they, yes, they're competitors.

Yes, that's true.

But some people like Chevys because they have a certain feel when you get into them, maybe they're, they are a little quieter when you drive them, their trucks or whatever.

Everybody likes Ford because that's what, that's the choice everybody goes to because it's the best selling pickup in America.

Or maybe they'll go to Chrysler because they love Hemi engines.

You know, I think it's, I think every, I think all of these different AI models can coexist.

I think the biggest fear right now is they're trying to do what happened with the Internet bubble.

They're trying to become that company that dominates.

Or is there first, you know, it dominates like Amazon did when they sold books.

But yeah, there's, there's so many unknowns here and I will probably never know, Kingsley, what really is actually happening.

But I, I'm, I'm at least happy that some cooler heads are prevailing here because it's not to get political here, but it just seems like the government is just giving these companies free reign to do whatever they want.

And maybe that's, maybe that's a fear.

From China by default.

Yeah.

For any company until you.

And, and yeah.

And then, but then.

Yeah.

There should be times when things become big enough.

Yeah.

You know, it's, it's always, it's always normal.

No matter what you believe in the government to.

Eventually when companies become monopolies or things get crazy enough, government should step in no matter what.

What if things get really crazy?

Yeah, but I just don't want them to step in, you know, Daily dollar short.

Yeah.

Or, or cause problems.

The big problem too is of course ignorance.

No matter what you believe too, government cannot make regulations on their own.

It needs, the idea needs to come from the companies ideally.

And this is where you'd be like, well, they don't want to come.

But see, right now I think they're trying to actually work together and independent researchers can actually confirm.

Okay, no, these are good ideas.

It's not just the bottom dollar ideas they're coming out with.

But in the past, when any administration.

I've seen this, being a tech guy over the last 20, 30 years doing stuff on the Internet, you don't fully understand the Internet.

So if you try to make regulations on things, I'm not saying regulations are necessarily good or bad, but if you're making regulations, you gotta have the tech people give their input.

It can't come just from the government and work its way down.

And if, I don't know if you've seen the average age of Congress, you think, I don't know anything about tech.

This is my dad.

These are my, this is My dad in the Congress right now on average.

Age of congressmen right now.

And again, not to get political, but.

I think that's Mitch McConnell.

Need to get some young blood in there that knows what the hell's going on in this life, you know, I don't know.

I'm just saying term limits might be something to think about instead of it being career politicians.

How about it be your time in the House to make a change some, make some change and then you, you, you give it away to somebody else to try their, to give it their shot.

Just like the presidency is.

You know, you pass the stick, you, you hope that they can try to improve on what they did before and move on from there.

And what I think you want to talk about game remakes and remasters.

Dave, the floor is yours, sir.

What do you want, what do you want to mention?

Yeah, so, so you know, and like I, like I was saying, I was talking to you, I trying to man, just complaining but at the same time, you know, with there's, there's been so many game remakes and remasters and you know, it kind of feels like what, how before when you know, it looked like every new movie was just a remake of something that was made decades ago.

And, and, and you know, and you know, and I understand games and games and movies are completely different things but, but at the same time it kind of feels like, you know, like my complaint with Hollywood, it's like they're just running out of ideas.

Let's just, let's just like remake this game, maybe add like a few.

A new location or two.

But keep the story, but keep the story kind of the same.

And you know, the thing is with, with remaking a game, you know, something 20 some odd years ago, I get it, it's not going to look good.

It's not going to run great on, on the, on the PS5 or Pro or, or the Xbox series X or even on a souped up computer now.

You know what I'm saying?

Like it's going to look, it's not going to run, run that well.

So it may, you know, I do understand with certain games like it makes sense to remaster, bring them back.

Perfect example.

Saxis Creed, Black Flag, I haven't played it yet.

That, what that, that game was awesome.

I've like that's probably the only one of the only games where I completed it 100.

I, I rinsed that game to death.

I love that game.

I'm more than likely to buy the remaster when I can, when I have the time to.

But, but the same time, you know, I was looking at stats as well.

This last year alone there were like about 30 something teammates.

Wow.

Yeah.

And either remakes or remasters.

And I don't know, to me it kind of feels a little lazy.

And don't get me wrong, like you know, everything that goes into creating a video game takes a lot like I couldn't do it.

You know what I'm saying?

I couldn't do it.

I'M not necessarily dissing any of the studios that decide to do.

But I just, I just want a new story.

I want something new.

Maybe you could take certain elements from, from the old game and bring it, and bring it to a new game.

It's just like with.

What's that, what's that game?

Bullet Time.

Max Payne.

They are remaking Max Payne 1 and 2.

Why this?

Why like he.

No, I'm sorry for the spoilers, but he did not die in Max Payne.

I think it was either three or four.

The last one.

He did not die in the last one.

That this, this add on to it this make a completely new story.

You know, Matt, like Max Payne was one of my favorite games as well back then.

Like, I, I loved, I loved that game.

But, but that, that's just, you know, that that's just what, what I'm dealing with as far not dealing with this.

This.

Like wanted to just chat about and get what your thoughts are as far as like with remakes or remasters or even remaking like God of, God of War trilogy.

Like why I, I understand, I understand it costs a lot less to, to, to create.

To, to create, you know, to make a remake or remaster it.

And you know, a lot of nostalgic front.

You know, a lot of people that love, love the game back in the day, like, oh my gosh.

Yeah, like, there may be some people that will jump on it.

You know, it's an easy cash grab.

But I don't know.

I, I like new stories.

You know, I, I, you don't need to remake things.

Just, just come out with a new story.

And I know, I'm not saying that it's easy to make a new story, but that's, that, that's what I would prefer.

Personally, man, I want, I wanted to get where your, where y' all thoughts were on that.

Kingsley, you want to start?

You want me to.

I can, sure.

Yeah.

I mean, of course on the base level, I would rather have a Destiny 3 and then a Destiny 1 remade or adding more onto Destiny 2.

But I'm also a realist.

And the thing right now that's happening is this is kind of like going to be more of our only option going forward for a bit until the game industry can turn around.

And my attitude on has changed a little bit lately.

A lot of the remakes have been getting better and better.

And also, not only is it not just a nostalgia thing, it's a thing where you can get new people that also have never played that game.

And then they hear from their friends and then they consider picking it up.

Black Flag was amazing remake.

I played through that.

I'm really excited for the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake coming out.

We got witcher, updated graphics.

Witcher 3.

I haven't played through that all the way.

Even if I did, I'd probably play it again.

But once that update comes out the end of the month, I'm going to be finally hopping in and playing it some more because it'll be better graphics.

It's kind of a way that we can take these older games and actually get them to play well on our current systems.

So I'm generally all for it now.

I'm not saying I wouldn't slightly prefer or more prefer a new game, of course I would.

But I.

My attitude's definitely changed.

I think, like most of the.

A lot of the remakes that have been coming out lately have been hitting out of the park and people have been generally favorable of it.

And it is unfortunately, right now just on the realism side, one of the safer bets of things that they can do.

Yeah, this reminds me so much of the.

Of the movie industry these days.

Instead of making new original content, they're regurgitating sequels of the shows that should never have had a sequel.

Matrix comes to mind.

I am interested on the percentages.

35 Or whatever you said may sound like a lot, but I guarantee that's a small percentage compared to all the games coming out.

And.

And I'm sure it's probably going up year after year.

I imagine even next year we'll have even a higher percentage of remakes versus new games.

But as long as there's still some new games, I don't think right now I'm in any kind of doomsday situation.

I hope they continue.

I definitely, definitely hope they continue to make new games.

And I hope we can find a way where they're not, I don't know, costing 500 million so that no one wants to make them.

Right.

Yeah, I mean, Sony's experienced that firsthand, I think.

I mean, Sony, my God, man, they're just getting walloped with Wolverine.

It just came out.

People are getting refunds and stuff because the game was just terrible.

And my.

Yeah, and that was a review game, right?

Yeah.

My reviewer of choice that I always use to review games, Mr. Skillup from Australia, he is the one who, who put it out there and it just caught fire.

And he said, I do not recommend Wolverine.

And these companies were pissed that they were ruining their reputation and stuff.

I'm like, well dude, I mean it's all fair game.

You're putting content out there, you're going to get judged with what you put out.

But I think the reason a lot of remasters are appearing is I think these studios and these publishers are looking inward and like saying okay, it's just like what Sony's doing.

How can we make the most amount of money on our current base instead of trying to make an all new game which like you said is 4 or 500 million bucks and it just flops.

They, I don't know how many times they can take that loss before.

They just can't do that anymore.

And just the economics here.

The typical budget of a remaster is about 2 to 15 million dollars.

Rarely exceeds 20 million.

If you're doing a full remake, you know, something rebuilt from scratch and it can be $40 million, $60 million in that range.

It takes nine to 18 months to make a remaster.

It takes three to five plus years to make a full remake.

Team size wise, you're 15 to 50 developers.

Frequently a lot of that's outsourced.

In fact for remasters you could be 150 to 400 core in house developers making a full remake of a game.

And the pricing of course, 30 to 30 to 50.

30 To $50 for your remasters and a full 60 to 70 bucks full AAA pricing for your remakes.

It makes sense because you're putting that much time into it, right?

Gross revenue multiplier.

It's, it's 1x on the times the baseline it's 2.2x average revenue compared to remasters.

And the Profit margins are 40 to 60% high margin, low ceiling.

And it's a little bit less.

20 To 35% on your, on your remake, full remakes.

But I think that's exactly what's happening right now.

I think a lot of these studios are looking for self preservation just like the movie industry did.

They're looking to self preservate, preserve and they're looking for nostalgia buy ins.

And for the most part nostalgia sells, man.

I mean most people that like you, like you said, Kingsley, you played the remaster, the Black Flag remaster and you had already played.

Yeah.

You had a full playthrough of that game.

Yeah, but it's not, I'm just being nitpicking here.

For me it's not so much nostalgia technically.

It's more because they updated the graphics and it's kind of a new experience for me.

Even though I played the game because it's better graphics.

And I just wanted to add one other real quick thing in.

Like, I would rather.

And I know a lot of people like the pure old eight bit things or whatever.

Like when all the Mario games and stuff, when they came to the Switch and the store, they were like the original.

They're not remade at all.

They're just the original games.

Right.

And you can play them on the Switch.

I would actually prefer it if they do remake those games and make better graphics.

I know I have the old version too, for the people that like that.

But I guess that's why I kind of like remakes too.

I mean, it's still second next to.

I still prefer.

Based on your original question, I prefer a new game, but it's a pretty close second these days.

As long as they've made something new and better graphics.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And I.

Good.

I was just gonna say yeah.

And I.

And I do.

I don't know.

Me personally, I just.

I just always want something new.

I guess maybe that's just how I am with when it comes to music or, or like new technology.

It's like I always just crave something new.

Just give me something new, give me a new story, you know, as opposed to.

Because I've played.

I mean, I'm pretty sure we all have.

Like, I've played a lot of video games and I've dumped hours.

I mean, when I last looked at my Destiny tracker, like, time wasted.

I think I was at close to a little bit.

A little bit over 4,000 hours.

I mean, it's probably nothing compared to other people.

But, you know, I, I have spent hours in Destiny, you know, saying like, and that's.

And I'm definitely above like close to, close to 3,000 cyberpunk.

And you know, and let's not count, let's not count all the, all the Assassin's Creeds.

I mean, I've been playing Assassin's Creed since one, so I've spent hours.

And, and, and that's not the only franchise.

That's so many other games I've rinsed to death that my wife could tell you that.

Like, like you're still playing this game, you know, so.

Yeah, I get that too.

Yeah.

So.

But I don't know.

I just crave a new story.

And again, it's no dis to studios that.

That decide to do this.

You know, I, I get it.

I get it 100%.

It sounds like we all agree.

Or maybe you didn't fully say, Todd, you would prefer a new game also over remake.

Actually There were three stats here I wanted to mention, because I fall into one of these stats.

They say 90%.

This is according to some research from MTM.

90% Of active console and PC gamers played a remaster or remake within the past 12 months.

85% Of the players who engaged with the remake or remaster had never actually played the original release.

That's me.

I bought the updated graphics of God of war 2018 because I never played the original game, and I got the remastered version of that and.

And that's because you let games sit.

Yeah, that's exactly why you have to play the next.

Pay for the next remake in 10 years before you play it.

And 76% of surveyed players find revivals appealing.

Though growing concerns remained around studios relying on familiar titles of the expense of a new creative ip.

Exactly what you were saying, Bass.

Yeah, I mean, I love the fact that the Witcher 3 is getting a.

What is it?

Is it a remake?

No, it's not a remake.

It's a remaster.

Or is it a remaster?

It's a remaster.

Okay.

They're going to add some stuff, but basically a remaster.

But graphics.

Yeah, I have it in my looked.

I have it in my.

Of course, I have it in my library.

So I'll be getting the free update on that.

And then when Witcher 4 comes out, I'll probably buy it originally and let it sit again.

Yeah, but there's some really good games out there, man, that I just.

I mean, let's face it, man, 12 years of destiny and destiny two.

I did not really look at any other game while I played Destiny and Destiny 1 and Destiny 2.

Because I don't know, man.

I think that's just the way I play games.

I mean, I play Call of Duty.

It's all I played was Call of Duty.

I really never looked at any other games.

I dabbled with other games, but they just didn't stack up to Call of Duty.

Same thing with Destiny.

I mean, I know we've all heard that saying in the past where I go, yeah, it's not Destiny.

I'd always say that after trying a game, I say, yeah, yeah, it's not Destiny.

It's not.

I don't get that Destiny feel.

So trust me, I'm the same way.

Like, I still.

Like.

I think, let's see.

So my house is built.

So I moved in here 2016.

Okay.

And for several Christmases, you know, like, family members have gotten me video games.

I. I promise you, I had games that are still in the rapper from 2017, 2018, 19.

I have that.

I have that.

Like I looked at it.

You should, you should consider other people's recommendations because I would have never played Destiny if my wife didn't buy it for me from a recommendation from the Best Buy a guy for a Christmas present.

So like, I did not get Destiny on my own somewhat.

My wife recommended it to me.

Well from the guy.

So yeah, you never know.

You can get some good recommendations from friends.

Wow.

Yeah.

That's crazy, man.

Like I said, I benefited from some of these remasters obviously with God of War, man, I'm telling you, the one they remastered for PS4 looks fantastic on my PS5 Pro.

I'm like, this had to be made for this console because it looks so damn good, man.

But yeah, I mean, like I said, the main thing is I, I think this is self preservation.

I really do.

I think the studios are not going to stick their necks out and spend half a billion dollars on a game for it just to flop and them to lose.

You know, I think, I think Concord, what happened to Sony and Concord, I think sent a ripple effect to the whole industry.

I think everybody took notice of that and realized.

I mean, and now look at, look at, look at the new Wolverine.

The fighting mechanics are clunky.

I've heard, and I've heard it's not open world at all that they.

It's so simplified of a game for like the most casual players.

So all the hardcore players that are used to these fighting games and superhero games are like, why is there a blue line here?

Let me figure out where I need to go.

Don't tell me where to go.

You know, and people just were really turned off by all that, so.

And I've heard too that there were no fail say fail state fail states.

On a lot of these missions.

You couldn't fail them.

Like you just said with a motorcycle there where you.

I saw a video where they were, you were doing a finisher on one of the enemies as Wolverine.

And the guy literally sat there and looked at his phone and it just, the screen froze and said press, I don't know, triangle and circle to, to finish off the boss.

And he's sitting there looking at his phone and the game's just sitting there waiting for him.

You like, you just can't fail no fail states.

And I think that's what Skill up mentioned.

Is there a lot of these, a lot of these transitions into cutscenes were just waiting for you to, to press the button.

It's literally like watching a movie in a video game.

So yeah, yeah, it's a good topic, man.

I think a lot of people.

Todd, I don't know if you very specifically said so you like remakes also, but do you, do you still prefer a new game or do you prefer remakes?

I mean I've been like I said, I've benefited from remakes and remasters games I, I bought a long time ago in their original state and now they've been upgraded, I'm like, I can move it up to my newest console and I'm loving that, especially now that I can actually look at my backlog because Destiny doesn't have the grip on me as it used to.

But no, man, I always want to.

I'm really curious what Interstellar is going to be by Guerrilla Games.

They make fantastic games, man.

I mean I'm a product of Killzone.

Two tons of games.

You don't need to look for the next one.

Just look at your library.

It's not Destiny, man.

You only have three hours into Cyberpunk so far.

It's not as.

Anyway, I, I, I am, I am enjoying, I am enjoying the Cyberpunk game.

It's a lot of fun.

It's just a matter like I, I'll talk about it, my catch up segment.

But yeah, I, yeah, that, that I would, that it will be a game I do finish because it is very and, and promise, yeah, I will finish it.

I will definitely finish that game.

But at least the, at least the initial campaign, the story mode on it.

I don't know about all the side quest stuff, but yeah, I want to be blown away, man.

You know how many times I tune into the game awards or the summer games fest and I'm waiting for that last cut scene, waiting for that last cut scene that Jeff Keighley's gonna put out, and he's just gonna say, oh, yeah, I forgot we got this, and walk off the stage.

I'm just waiting for that moment, man.

So far, I haven't seen that moment.

I'm like, oh, yeah, it's pretty impressive.

But if you play through cyberpunk, you'll be blown away again and again and again and again.

You didn't even get to the first main mission yet, Dude, I haven't even finished.

It wasn't really a mission.

I haven't even finished Diablo 4.

The first time I streamed it, Zombie was there.

The car was too damn sensitive to steer.

I'm used to playing Destiny where eventually the game will just shake you out.

I was waiting for that moment where the game arc Raiders will even do that.

It'll even have a button to say, are you stuck?

What do I do?

Even you play arc Raiders.

You get stuck in, like, a crevice or something while climbing over a mountain or something.

It'll go, oh, you're stuck.

Press the button here, and it'll jot you out.

You never had that in this game.

I'm sitting there freaking out.

I'm like, am I just gonna sit here and spin these damn wheels all night?

What the hell's going on here?

And I realize, okay, people in chat.

I'm just not used to that kind of gameplay.

So on Saturday I played in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I got to hang out with Some friends I haven't seen in a while.

And then this all.

Basically, I moved the party part of the party from the club to my Airbnb, and I was just catching up with my friends up until about six o' clock in the morning.

I realized what time.

I realized what time it was.

I'm like, y', all, I need to sleep.

Let's get breakfast.

Breakfast before I leave.

So they left.

I slept for two hours.

I forgot to close the blinds.

The moment the sun.

I got to grab breakfast with some people.

After my radio show, I woke up.

I don't even know what time I woke up on Monday.

But anyways, yeah, so I just been, like, recovering from that.

But this week I finally caught up on Dark Matter.

As far as gaming, with what little time I have, Cyberpunk, I'm on.

I'm on my third playthrough.

I'm doing a corporal run.

And what, what, what I've been doing with the run.

I did all of the NCPD missions.

I'm just trying to level up as, as much as possible because I'm.

I'm trying to work out.

I'm trying to.

I am building up like a Self sandevison build.

You know the one where everything slows down.

So, yeah, I'm running that.

So that's, that's going to be my corporal build.

I, I mentioned it, I mentioned it in the chat like a few weeks ago, but I, I, when I created my new character, I sat with my wife.

I was like, all right, look at me.

And I basically created, my character looks almost exactly like my wife.

Look, she doesn't have, she doesn't have the hair, but she looks exactly like her.

And she's like, so what are you gonna do?

Like, what are you gonna do with this character?

I was like, you're gonna kill people.

She's like, okay.

But yeah, she looks exactly like my wife, minus the, the hairdo.

That's cool.

Other than that, you know, this is typical.

I had to yell at somebody that's about almost 90 days past you on an invoice and that's it.

You know, it comes down to it, they didn't think they thought of you last when it came to paying their bills.

What's going on, man?

Let's see.

It's a busy time for my business this time of year.

I don't really ever think about that, but it is a little bit true because new operating systems just came out for the computers and the, and the mobile devices by mostly do the computers.

Oh, that's right.

Either businesses.

Yeah, either businesses that we need to hold it back for a little bit just to test and because it's not ready.

Or businesses that want to install it.

But all my management software pretty much automates all that.

But I still need to spend a lot of time like programming things and the policies and everything like that.

So it's kind of a fun time of year, busy time of year.

We're getting a lot more of people getting interested in using AI in the businesses, but only a specific one and they want to block the others.

So there's some really cool tools that I can use to block certain DNS requests and block apps from loading on the computer.

So like one company only wants to use Claude, like they don't want their employees to use the other ones.

I got you.

I can do that.

I can put controls on the computers and want to use it at all.

I can block it all, you know, so like that.

Yeah, you know, these are the things AI is just the hot topic of the day but like these are things I've done for years.

Just blocking any sorts of programs that people need or installing programs.

Like just when I was on the Discord, you know, I have customers that'll email me or text me after hours but like it doesn't mean I need to respond.

But I just had a customer like oh, we, we want to get YouTube pushed out to all the people's phones because they're doing training videos more like I got you.

And so I can just go to the portal and they.

This is a smaller company and they only got about five phones with different employees.

But I don't have to go to phone A install phone B install.

No, I go to the.

They're all in one group, one policy and I say install YouTube and it goes out to all the phones at the same time.

Cause they're all in that group.

So seems might seem basic and obvious but some people don't actually understand that still.

So that's kind of why I was mentioning, you know, it's like nice the automation stuff that I can do.

So of course enjoy my job as always and haven't really watched much any kind of shows at all lately.

Just been busy gaming stuff like that.

Not opposed to it but watching some Big Brother here and there but not too many things otherwise.

But gaming wise, still going hard in cyberpunk.

It's my second full playthrough and I'm telling you, I don't know if I, I thought when I did the first playthrough I did all the side quests but I'm telling you man, like there's some side quests I'm doing.

I'm like I do not remember this one.

Yes, yes, yes, exactly.

Do you get different side quest if you're corpo versus maybe that's it.

Or I don't know, like.

But I think so.

I think so because I did a mission.

Yes.

Yeah, well, this is.

I'm like, wait a minute, hold up a second.

So maybe they added more over time.

Who knows?

But it's possible.

My original playthrough was probably a year and a half ago or so, or maybe even longer, I don't know.

But having fun with that.

And then the new season of Diablo came out on Tuesday and it's a.

It's a banger so far.

They.

They're going off of nostalgia too, but like, they're doing it really good where they have these things called walking nightmares.

We've had nightmares in Destiny before.

Remember that?

You know, they had like Leviathan stuff coming back, but doing really well in Diablo where like, you're just doing things and then a portal opens up and all of a sudden takes you into an old Diablo 2 dungeon, but with better graphics.

But like, I'm like, I remember those enemies.

I haven't seen those enemies forever.

And it's kind of cool.

It's actually kind of fun.

And then the old sound effects and.

And some old boss that you haven't seen forever.

Like Diablo himself has never been in Diablo 4.

I mean, that's just how the game name started.

But you got the primevals, you got Bail, Diablo and Mephisto.

Mephisto's been the main bad guy for Diablo 4, but Diablo himself is actually kind of technically back in the game finally as a waking nightmare.

It's just a echo of him.

Kind of like we've had the echoes in Destiny, but it was so cool to fight Diablo again.

And I was running it with Sin the other night and we had a lot of fun doing that.

But yeah, just.

Just staying busy.

The work is a lot of fun projects right now and gaming here and there.

And.

Yeah, that's basically it.

Okay, cool.

Cool.

Sadly, I have not been playing many video games.

Second week in a row I've just.

I sit down and I usually am working on shorts or something late at night and I just.

I. I think I'm waiting for the ARC Raiders to come out with their big update in October, which is only a couple weeks away.

It's not too far away, but obviously we finally got our final.

Our main emblem for completing all of the Pantheon stages.

We did get that Done Saturday night, we got almost to the.

We got to the last one, and we just were fading.

It was.

So.

It was a really late night.

I think it was like 2am or something.

And we came back though the neck the following night on Sunday night, and got it done in, I don't know, like, 30 minutes maybe or something like that.

So it was really cool to finally get that album.

I gotta say, that emblem looks really good.

America's Got Talent and MasterChef, they're in their final episodes, you know, of the season, so we'll be tuning into those.

I don't know, man.

There's some really good acts on America's Got Talent.

I'm not really big into the, you know, the dog shows or the, you know, the train dogs or the.

They got train dog that made it.

They've got a.

Someone who swings on the bar up high and stuff.

That stuff.

Just once you see it once you're like, okay, yeah, it's nice.

But this guy over here kicked ass singing a song.

And this comedian over here had me in stitches, and this magician blew my mind.

Those are the people I like seeing going to the finals.

So we'll see.

I like people that can do that stuff.

They're kind of like poets, you know, they just know how to put words and sentences together that makes sense.

But the floor, first episode of the new season of the Floor.

It's a battle of champions.

It's where all the champions, you're a champion in something, whether it's a food eating contest or a yo yo contest or whatever, they're champions in whatever they do in life.

And then they have all their weird expert, you know, topics that they want that they could be drilled on.

Dan, of course, tonight debuted right after the show.

I'm gonna go watch it after I watch to see who won the game tonight.

The Traders.

The American Traders is on tonight.

It's the very first episode and it's no more reality stars.

It's all regular American people, which just blows.

I like seeing that stuff.

It's just the greatest social experiment to me.

And so far I still, I've watched all of the ones from all the countries, whether it's New Zealand or Australia or the UK or Canada.

Canada has their own.

I'm like, what?

And that host is fine as hell.

Just gotta say that she's, she looks good anyway.

But I did see the Emmys.

I love the Emmys because movie industry's kind of fallen backwards and the Academy Awards are nice to watch because I'm a movie buff.

But dude, the Emmys are where it's at right now.

That's where all the movie stars are going now.

Is there all these great shows that are out?

I did see Stephen Colbert got his very last Emmy for the Late show which I was really cool to see that.

That was really cool.

That was a nice touch.

I'm now in three fantasy football leagues.

I did win my first game in the GDC Fantasy football league.

Sorry, scoot.

I'm a two time defending league champion and this year's teams, I've looked at them, they're tough.

So look forward to seeing what's coming the next couple of weeks.

I about 500 on last week's games.

I had nice blowout games but also so did my opponents.

Now my wife and I did see one movie this week using my AMC stubs, a list membership of course where I can see up to four movies free every week on any screen or any format.

It's about the we saw the music documentary called Don't Look Back in Anger on the IMAX screen.

It's about the 2025 Oasis comeback tour the brothers Gallagher, Liam and Noel, who fell out of.

Out of the band 15 years ago and never spoke to each other, just all of a sudden got back together.

And I gotta say, man, the footage was epic.

Of course, it was on imac.

So it's.

The screen's huge.

The sound, you feel like you're right there on the stage.

It's.

It's just really cool that you see the.

You see the views from the brothers looking out into the audience and just the amazing waves of people.

I just looked at my wife and, like, that's just insane, man.

That must be like quarter of a million people they're playing to right there.

But they show footage from their concert tour in uk, in America, Brazil, even in South Korea.

It was just amazing to see how much impact this one band had on its fans.

And the crowds in tears, you know, hearing all their favorite songs from Noel and Liam.

And I gotta say, I might have.

Someone might have been cutting onions in that theater because there were some emotional scenes taken, you know, from that tour that had kind of had an effect on me, especially toward the end.

But Liam said something impactful in the film that.

About how they weren't superheroes and they leave their egos at the door.

He says, all I am is I'm the instrument.

And my goal is to just do the best job I can and let the music be the superhero.

Man, that was a great.

That was a great phrase, I gotta say.

Music can be a powerful force, and it's just.

It can be used for good, too.

And that's the feeling I had as I was walking out of the theater last night.

It was an impactful documentary about how two brothers buried the hatchet in a world where everybody seems to be divided and hates each other.

And it's just amazing what they brought, you know, what change they brought in their music.

But from the very first concert on tour, Noel and Liam were just blown away.

You can see their faces.

They're seeing fathers and sons that are singing their songs together.

And there were a lot of people that were under 30, they mentioned, that were enjoying their music.

So what that meant was that their parents were sharing this music with them as they were growing up.

That's a very rare thing to witness these days because most of my kids don't want anything to do with my music.

So that I've listened to.

But IMDb has this one as a at a healthy 8.4 out of 10.

Probably no surprise that I love this movie.

I had the wonderful opportunity to watch a live outdoor Concert two summers ago with Heyoka over there when we saw Elbow together.

It was a truly great experience.

And I found out that Heyoka had also seen Oasis on their tour in the uk.

I'm a little jealous, not gonna lie, but the UK have some killer outdoor concerts over there.

I gave this one four and a half stars.

It was just a great movie, man.

It's something I'll always remember watching.

So if you're a fan of Oasis or just a fan of music, man, go out and watch this.

It's really good.

If you can see it on the big screen, it's even better.

But like I said, as far as destiny goes, we did finish our Pantheon.

Run our full pantheon.

So like obviously like the Destiny situation, if they were to turn off the servers there, that's not so much because of a PS4 issue.

But I really think like most of the downloaded games that you have will go for a while now.

Who knows?

And Sony's been making a lot of crazy decisions lately.

But if you just kind of look at the history, even some PS2 stuff, PS3 like they're still playable.

Well, first I gotta put in my two cents about cables.

Cause I deal with that a little bit too, being a computer guy, at least on the digital side, when we're talking about like, you know, usb, hdmi, things like that, generally it's more important if the standard is met than the company saying it's an extra special cable.

So, and generally if it's meeting those standards, they will be more expensive.

Like if we're Talking about Thunderbolt 4 versus just a USB B cable that can bring the price up or HDMI 2.1 versus 2.0 or things like that.

So it is okay to do that.

But what I spend money on that I don't like to cheap out on is food point.

Yeah, I definitely do that with food.

Yeah, it's number two, I waste money at times, but yeah, I don't like to, I don't know, I mean, I mean, sure, I love my Taco Bell and stuff too, but I am a food snob at times and I'll be like, no, I don't want to, I don't want to have that.

I want to have the better quality things.

And you know, there's times when you're gonna, you're gonna go out to eat and it's really hard to eat clean when you're, when you're going out, but.

Because everything is just soaked down with butter and salt.

But it tastes so damn good.

My dad has always been the type to get the best.

When he buys something for himself, it's always the best.

I mean, whether it's a tool, whether it's a drill, whether it's a, whatever quality of wood he makes.

You know, if he's making crown molding for his house, he always gets really good quality lumber.

And he would always show me the differences between you know, a really nice red oak versus a piece of crappy pinewood.

You know, he'd always show me the difference in that stuff.

But if I was to say there's one thing I will not cheap out.

It'd have to be tools.

I guess tools would be my thing because I usually have Craftsman tools.

I know Sears is no longer in business, but I think, I think Lowe's still sells Craftsman.

I think they bought the license for it.

Husky Tools, I think is the same brand.

I think it's all Craftsman.

But I don't buy cheap tools because when I need a tool to do something, I don't want it breaking in my hands.

And nothing more frustrating than stripping out a box in wrench or something because it's just so cheaply made and it's not even perfectly sized, you know.

So, yeah, I'd have to be tools.

Whether it's a.

And my wife doesn't understand it half the time, but eventually she gets it.

So I even have, you know, I have a PS, I have a PS5 as well.

So I've bought Destiny for my Xbox and I bought Destiny.

I'm like, all right, okay, I got a. I got a PS4 Pro for Christmas.

I'll just buy Destiny so I could finally play with my games because I got tired of going to.

Well, first, I want to say it's a really interesting question because the way he's presenting it, it almost sounds like.

Well, probably, at least compared to Todd, I put way less money into video games.

But even when I do go on little splurges and buy some things in a game, I do not consider that spending too much money because as long as I can afford it and as long as I'm not feeling guilty about it, I don't know why I would.

So personally, I don't feel that way, but I guess if he's making an overall bigger point, like, still though, should you be buying that much?

You know, it's a very interesting.

It's a very interesting thing.

But no, no, personally, I don't ever feel that way.

When it comes to Destiny, yes.

I've bought several copies as well.

I don't know if I've spent that many copies though their base, but it usually.

What I try to do, it's always irritated me.

When I looked at Eververse stuff that was up every week, I'd be like, yeah, that's all right, but that's not worth 10 bucks.

I'm not paying 10 bucks for that because I already got something that looks better than that.

That's the way I usually compare my stuff when I'm getting, you know, cosmetic stuff in the game.

But I'm very much a sucker for.

For weapon ornaments because they always look good and I want them all.

I'm a completionist when it comes to that.

So I love the fact that this last season they allow you to get all of that stuff.

You can earn it if you just spend enough time playing.

So I'm working on that part.

When there's nothing left in Eververse to get, nothing will pop up.

I'm waiting for that day.

That's gonna be a cool day when that happens.

But you can earn Bright Dust every week.

So if I see it's out there and I can earn it with Bright Dust, then I'll grind.

I'll put the time in.

But there are some times when I see a ship or a sparrow or even a weapon ornament or a shader that I look at, like a shader pack, and I'll go, yeah, I want to wear that on Saturday.

Yeah, I'm getting that.

So, you know, because I feel guilty.

Like, you spent too much or.

What do you feel about.

No, I don't feel guilty at all, because I.

Believe me, base can probably.

And you also could probably, you know, agree with this, but I've had many expensive hobbies that cost a lot more than some cosmetics in a video game.

And, you know.

Yes, I know when you don't.

When you don't play the video game anymore, it's just.

It's just money you just threw away, but I consider it all entertainment and it's part of my hobby.

When you go on vacation, you can't experience that again.
